Byun Yo Han Gets Abducted Right After His Release From Prison In New Film “The Journey To Gyeongju”

“The Journey to Gyeongju” has unveiled new stills of Byun Yo Han in character!

“The Journey to Gyeongju” is a family revenge film about a mother and three daughters who embark on a “killer” journey after waiting eight years, all for their youngest daughter Gyeong Ju who never returned from a school field trip.

Byun Yo Han plays Baek Sang Hyun, the man who took Gyeong Ju away from Ok Sil (Lee Jung Eun) and her family. After serving eight years in prison, he is abducted by Ok Sil and her three daughters while unconscious under anesthesia before he even has a chance to enjoy his freedom.

To complete the character’s appearance, Byun Yo Han not only portrayed Baek Sang Hyun with messy hair, a bushy beard, and rough skin, but also personally wore a mouthpiece designed to discolor his teeth. He also studied his walk and uneasy eye movements to create Baek Sang Hyun’s anxious and chilling presence.

Regarding his decision to participate in the production for no fee, Byun Yo Han said, “The producing director of my first commercial film ‘Will You Be There?’ was producing this project, so I was naturally drawn to it, and the screenplay was really good. It was also meaningful to be able to work with senior and junior actors, including Lee Jung Eun, and I wanted to contribute in whatever small way I could.”

He added, “Because there is no justification or sense of sympathy behind this character’s actions, I was actually able to throw myself into the role and act more boldly. I thought the more painful it was for me, the greater the fear and tension the audience would feel.”

Director Kim Mi Jo explained why she cast Byun Yo Han, saying, “The moment I heard Byun Yo Han’s name, it felt as if a light suddenly switched on in my mind, like it was fate. He is a professional actor who went beyond the screenplay to capture hidden contexts that I hadn’t even thought of and bring them out onto the screen.”

“The Journey to Gyeongju” is set to hit theaters in Korea on August 26.

KBS 2TV has unveiled a suspenseful new glimpse of its upcoming drama “The Husband”!

“The Husband” is a thriller starring Namkoong Min as a man on the brink of divorce who unexpectedly becomes embroiled in a desperate fight with a dangerous criminal in order to rescue his wife.

Lee Seol will play Go Se Yoon, the chairwoman of a hospital and the wife of neurosurgeon Kang Tae Joo (Namkoong Min).

Newly released stills from the upcoming drama preview the terrifying ordeal that awaits Go Se Yoon. Initially, Go Se Yoon is asleep in bed while wearing an eye mask. However, she soon wakes up, and after discovering something or someone in her bedroom, she looks startled and confused.

Afterwards, Go Se Yoon is abducted, and she wakes up in an unfamiliar place. Sitting on the cold concrete floor, Go Se Yoon is visibly terrified as she suddenly finds herself a kidnapping victim.

“In ‘The Husband,’ Go Se Yoon is the character who becomes the starting point of the incident that connects all of the other characters, including Kang Tae Joo,” said the drama’s production team. “Lee Seol’s passionate performance, in which she gave her all, will have viewers on the edge of their seats in suspense from the first episode.”

“The Husband” will premiere on July 4 at 9:20 p.m. KST.

Namkoong Min Transforms Into A Neurosurgeon Searching For His Abducted Wife In New Drama “The Husband”

KBS2’s upcoming drama “The Husband” has unveiled new stills of Namkoong Min in character!

“The Husband” is a romance thriller that follows a man who becomes entangled in a desperate fight against a ruthless criminal in order to rescue his wife, who is kidnapped just before their divorce. In addition to Namkoong Min, the drama further stars Lee Seol, Kim Dae Myeung, and Lee Sang Hee.

Namkoong Min plays Kang Tae Joo, a neurosurgeon and director of We Are Together Hospital.

Kang Tae Joo decides to divorce his wife amid a troubled marriage. The next day, his wife is kidnapped.

In one still, Kang Tae Joo appears in surgical scrubs with a serious expression. In another, he is in a doctor’s gown, showing a cold demeanor.

Namkoong Min said, “When I first read the script, I was impressed by how fast-paced and immersive the story was. It goes beyond a simple crime thriller and deeply explores a couple’s emotions and relationship, as well as the choices people make in extreme situations. I was drawn to the strength of the drama itself rather than just the character, which is why I chose the role.”

He added, “Kang Tae Joo is a character who is constantly shaken and breaks down, but never gives up until the end, which I found very human.”

He further shared, “The appeal of Kang Tae Joo is that he seems perfect, but he is never truly perfect. As he dives into danger to save his wife, he is forced to confront his own weaknesses and emotions he has long avoided, and as the events unfold, he becomes increasingly shaken and changes.”

“The Husband” is set to premiere on July 4 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
