Ha Yun Kyung In Talks Alongside Jung Ryeo Won And Kim Moo Yul For New Medical Drama

Actress Ha Yun Kyung may star in the new drama “First Doctor” (working title), the new project from the director of “Teach You A Lesson”!

On June 18, a media outlet reported that Ha Yun Kyung will star in the drama “First Doctor.”

In response to the report, Ha Yun Kyung’s agency HODU&U Entertainment stated, “Actress Ha Yun Kyung has received an offer from the production team of the Netflix series ‘First Doctor’ and is currently reviewing it positively.”

“First Doctor” is a human medical drama that tells the story of Heo Ji Wan, a dedicated doctor who returns in triumph to the Department of Pediatrics at Yeonhee University in a provincial area—a place she had left against her will due to an incident during her residency.

It was previously reported that actress Jung Ryeo Won is in talks for the lead role of Heo Ji Wan.

Ha Yun Kyung is offered the lead role of Ki Eun Gyul, the most senior surgical resident whose skills are widely recognized and who shares a past connection with Ha Ji Wan. While she initially opposes Heo Ji Wan’s efforts to overhaul the system, she gradually finds herself won over by her professionalism and sincerity as a doctor.

Actor Baek Hyun Jin is reported to portray Professor Son Sang Baek, a head of surgery who shares a history with Heo Ji Wan, while Kim Moo Yul has also been offered a major role. If confirmed, the drama is expected to mark the third reunion for Kim Moo Yul and director Hong Jong Chan, following the Netflix series “Juvenile Justice” and “Teach You A Lesson.”

“The Roundup 5” Confirms Cast Lineup + Begins Filming

“The Roundup” has officially begun filming its fifth installment!

On May 27, it was revealed that filming officially began on May 24 and that the cast lineup has been confirmed.

“The Roundup” series is Korea’s longest-running action franchise centered on detective Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok) as he takes down various criminal organizations. “The Roundup 5” follows Ma Seok Do as he takes on Lee Kang Tae, the mastermind behind the most dangerous criminal operation yet.

Ma Seok Do, now promoted to team leader of the Major Crimes Investigation Unit, continues fighting on the front lines with determination, facing increasingly evolved crimes in an extreme showdown. Ma Dong Seok also took part in the screenplay and production.

Kim Jae Yeong plays villain Lee Kang Tae, a character willing to do anything to achieve his goals.

Seo Hyun Woo plays Go Young Min, a detective in Major Crimes Investigation Unit Team 1 who co-leads the team with Ma Seok Do. Lee Hak Joo appears as Han Sang Gu, an aide to Lee Kang Tae.

Baek Hyun Jin joins as Kim Min Chul, the head of the Major Crimes Investigation Unit, while Kim Min Ho rounds out the cast as Buldak.

Director Heo Myeong Haeng, who previously handled the series’ action choreography and directed the fourth installment, returns to direct again.

Song Geon Hee, Seo Ji Hye, Jung Moon Sung, Baek Hyun Jin, And More Bring Diverse Charms To New Drama “The Scarecrow”

ENA’s upcoming drama “The Scarecrow” has unveiled new stills featuring its supporting cast!

“The Scarecrow” follows a detective investigating a series of murders who is forced into an unlikely partnership with a man he despises. Set between 1988 and 2019, the suspenseful story tracks two men bound by misfortune and an uneasy alliance of hatred as they chase the truth across 30 years.

The stills show characters who appear to have stepped out of Gangseong in 1988 and reflect the mood and emotion of that time. First, the stills show Lee Ki Beom (Song Geon Hee) and Kang Soon Young (Seo Ji Hye) looking at each other with warm, affectionate eyes.

The two are a same-age couple who grew up in the same neighborhood and have promised to marry, but they are unexpectedly pulled into a series of murders and face major hardships. Lee Ki Beom, the younger brother of Lee Ki Hwan (Jung Moon Sung), is a responsible young man who will do anything for his family and loved ones. Kang Soon Young, the younger sister of Kang Tae Joo (Park Hae Soo), is an elementary school teacher with a calm and steady personality.

Another still shows Lee Ki Hwan, a bookstore owner, spending time with longtime hometown friends and former elementary school classmates Kang Tae Joo and Seo Ji Won (Kwak Sun Young) after a long time, looking happier and more comfortable than ever.

In another still, Kang Tae Joo is seen with four Gangseong Police Station officers Kim Man Chun (Baek Hyun Jin), Jang Myung Do (Jeon Jae Hong), Do Hyung Gu (Kim Eun Woo), and Park Dae Ho (Ryu Hae Joon) as they review case logs together. They work both independently and together to catch the true culprit behind the serial killings that have shaken Gangseong.

Squad chief Kim Man Chun is a seasoned officer with depth and experience who delivers a strong and steady presence. With his down-to-earth leadership, he serves as a pillar of support for Kang Tae Joo.

In contrast, Jang Myung Do and Do Hyung Gu are figures who frequently clash with Kang Tae Joo and drive conflict. Their intense and rough presence dominates the atmosphere, portraying corrupt officers who bow to power and rely on violence.

The youngest detective at Gangseong Police Station, Park Dae Ho, is shown in a tense and cautious stance. Though still clumsy and inexperienced, he diligently follows Kang Tae Joo and takes part in investigations at crime scenes.

“The Scarecrow” premieres on April 20 at 10 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
