Lee Byung Hun, Oh Jung Se, Park Hae Soo, Cho Yeo Jeong, And Kim So Jin Confirmed For “Squid Game” Director’s New Film

Lee Byung Hun, Oh Jung Se, Park Hae Soo, Cho Yeo Jeong, and Kim So Jin are teaming up for the new film “K.O. CLUB” (literal title)!

An abbreviation for “Killing Oldmen Club,” “K.O. CLUB” is set in the near future when it has become possible to buy even youth with money. The film depicts the conflict between a small group of elderly people who hold wealth and power and have no intention of stepping down and the younger generation who have been left without even opportunities.

The film marks director Hwang Dong Hyuk’s return to the big screen after 10 years. Hwang Dong Hyuk, who sparked a global phenomenon with the Netflix series “Squid Game,” has proven both his artistic merit and mass appeal through a diverse filmography spanning genres, including “Silenced,” “Miss Granny,” and “The Fortress.”

Through this film, Lee Byung Hun and Park Hae Soo will reunite with director Hwang Dong Hyuk following “Squid Game,” while the addition of acclaimed actors Oh Jung Se, Cho Yeo Jeong, and Kim So Jin adds a fresh dynamic to the film.

Filming is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.

JTBC’s “The Apartment Job” has shared a glimpse of a furtive meeting between Ji Sung and Park Byung Eun!

“The Apartment Job” tells the story of former Oasis Gang boss Park Hae Kang (Ji Sung), who runs for president of an apartment complex’s resident council in order to get his hands on the complex’s hidden reserve fund. In the process, he winds up joining forces with the other residents in order to expose deep-rooted corruption.

Lee Kwang Soo has joined the cast of the upcoming film “Nambeol” (romanized title)!

On July 29, a media outlet reported that the actor will star in the film. In response to the report, the actor’s agency King Kong by STARSHIP stated, “It is true that [Lee Kwang Soo] will appear in ‘Nambeol.’”

Set in the early Joseon dynasty, “Nambeol” is a hard-boiled martial arts action film that follows nine warriors of varying abilities and social ranks as they travel to Tsushima Island to rescue captives who have been abducted by Japanese pirates.

Lee Kwang Soo will portray Hwa Bong, an explosives expert attached to the punitive expedition unit who is highly skilled at handling gunpowder weapons.

The film previously confirmed Lee Byung Hun as Im Eok, the leader of the warriors, with Go Youn Jung set to star as the strong-willed and independent Ae Ryeong. Lee Do Hyun will play Bo Gyeong, a warrior who leads the punitive expedition, while WOODZ (Cho Seung Youn) will portray Cheot Nom, a skilled archer renowned for his exceptional marksmanship. Park Hae Joon rounds out the cast as Miyoshi, the leader of a group of Japanese pirates based on Tsushima Island.

“Nambeol” marks the directorial debut of Lee Mo Gae, who previously served as cinematographer for hit films including “12.12: The Day,” “Exhuma,” and “Emergency Declaration.”

However, he was shocked to find that the bank account was empty. In order to locate the missing funds, he teamed up with Kang Ha Ri (Ha Yun Kyung) for “Phase 2” of their “intermittent family” project, but met an unexpected hurdle when Jang Sook Jin (Moon So Ri) wound up learning the truth about their fake family.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming episode, Park Hae Kang convenes an emergency residents’ meeting in order to track down the missing reserve fund. At the meeting, which was called to investigate suspicions of heating cost corruption, Park Hae Kang, Lee Choong Won (Park Byung Eun), and Jang Sook Jin get into a fierce argument.

As Park Hae Kang takes charge of the meeting with his gavel raised high, Jang Sook Jin dramatically tosses a stack of papers while declaring, “We need to uncover the clear and definitive truth.”

On July 22, production company Hive Media Corp announced that WOODZ will play Cheot Nom, a skilled archer with exceptional marksmanship, in its upcoming film “Nambeol.”

Set in the early Joseon dynasty, “Nambeol” is a hard-boiled martial arts action film that follows nine warriors of varying abilities and social ranks as they travel to Tsushima Island to rescue captives who have been abducted by Japanese pirates.

Lee Byung Hun was previously confirmed to star as Im Eok, the leader of the group of warriors, while Go Youn Jung will play the strong-willed and independent Ae Ryeong. Lee Do Hyun will take on the role of Bo Gyeong, a warrior who leads the punitive force at the forefront of the story.

Cheot Nom is a character who risks his life by joining a dangerous extermination campaign to provide for the family he left behind in his hometown. Driven by a strong sense of responsibility and conviction, he is determined to protect both his family and his comrades.

Through this project, WOODZ will expand his career into acting after establishing himself as a singer.

The production team said, “WOODZ will bring a new sense of vitality to the project with his fresh energy and compelling performance.”
