Lovelyz’s Jeong Yein Confirmed To Take Over Ha Young’s Role In “The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call”

Lovelyz’s Jeong Yein has been confirmed to join the cast of “The Trauma Call: Heroes on Call” !

Previously on September 23, it was reported that Jeong Yein would be taking on the role of Cheon Jang Mi for the second and third seasons of the Netflix series “The Trauma Call: Heroes on Call.” However, at the time, both Netflix and Jeong Yein’s agency denied the report.

On September 29, MyDaily reported that later that day, key cast members of “The Trauma Call: Heroes on Call,” including Jeong Yein, will meet for the first time to conduct a brief script reading, followed by a meal together.

Following the reports, a representative from Netflix confirmed, “It is true that Jeong Yein has been selected as the successor to Ha Young for the new seasons of ‘The Trauma Call: Heroes on Call.’”

Released last year, the first season of “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” follows genius trauma surgeon Baek Kang Hyuk (Ju Ji Hoon) as he works to revive a struggling Severe Trauma Care team. Following Ha Young‘s decision to voluntarily step down, auditions were held to select an actress to fill the role, and Jeong Yein was ultimately chosen.

First debuted as a member of the girl group Lovelyz, Jeong Yein has been expanding her acting spectrum through various projects and theatrical stages, starting with the 2017 web drama “The Blue Sea” and tvN’s “Criminal Minds.”

Lovelyz’s Jeong Yein’s agency has responded to reports that she has been cast in the new seasons of “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.”

On September 23, MyDaily reported that Jeong Yein would take over the role of Cheon Jang Mi, previously played by Ha Young, in Seasons 2 and 3 of “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.”

According to the report, the production team held auditions to fill the vacancy left by Ha Young, who stepped down from the series following controversy surrounding her family’s alleged pro-Japanese ties, and ultimately selected Jeong Yein for the role.

However, Jeong Yein’s agency SUBLIME denied the report, stating, “There have been no discussions regarding her appearance in ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.’”

A Netflix representative also briefly commented, “Casting discussions are currently underway. Nothing has been confirmed yet.”

The drama centers on Baek Kang Hyuk and several key characters, including Yang Jae Won (Choo Young Woo), Cheon Jang Mi (Ha Young), Han Yu Rim (Yoon Kyung Ho), and Park Gyeong Won (Jeong Jae Kwang). Following Ha Young’s departure, the production is currently looking to cast a new actress as Cheon Jang Mi for the upcoming seasons.

In response to the report, Netflix confirmed her departure, stating, “Ha Young has decided not to appear in the follow-up to ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,’ and we respect her decision.”

Netflix has responded to reports that “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” Season 2 will begin filming in October.

On August 24, Lee Nak Joon, author of the original web novel on which “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” is based, appeared on KBS2’s “Malja Show” (literal translation). When asked about Seasons 2 and 3 of the hit Netflix series, he said, “The pre-production work for Season 2 is finished, and they’re currently scouting locations. I think filming will begin around October.”

However, on August 25, a Netflix representative shared, “Nothing has been decided yet,” adding, “We are currently discussing the production of Season 2, but it is difficult to confirm details regarding the filming schedule or casting at this time.”

“The Husband” is a thriller starring Namkoong Min as a man on the brink of divorce who unexpectedly becomes embroiled in a desperate fight with a dangerous criminal in order to rescue his wife.

Newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming first episode capture the tense moment when neurosurgeon Kang Tae Joo (Namkoong Min) receives a phone call that turns his entire world upside down.

Stunned by what he hears on the other side of the line, Kang Tae Joo freezes in shock, his usual composure nowhere to be found. He even stares blankly at his phone screen for a long time, piquing curiosity as to what could have elicited such a reaction.

The drama’s production team heaped praise on Namkoong Min’s acting, emphasizing how he skillfully portrayed the nuanced changes in Kang Tae Joo’s emotions over the course of the phone call.

“The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call” In Talks For New Seasons

“The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” may be coming back with more seasons!

On June 22, mydaily reported that “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” will begin filming Season 2 in October with plans to produce Seasons 2 and 3 together.

The news outlet further reported that Season 2 will have a total of eight episodes with the script having been already written for four episodes. The new season will reportedly reunite Season 1 stars Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Ha Young, Yoon Kyung Ho, and more and tell the story that unfolds as Baek Kang Hyuk (Ju Ji Hoon) visits a Severe Trauma Center in the countryside.

In response to the report, a source from Netflix shared, “We are positively in talks to produce future seasons of ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,’ but there is nothing confirmed yet. We will inform you once detailed information is confirmed.”

Based on a popular webtoon, “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” is a medical drama that follows Baek Kang Hyuk (Ju Ji Hoon), a genius surgeon with battlefield experience, as he takes on the challenge of reviving a defunct and neglected Severe Trauma Care team.
