Ji Chang Wook Hits Rock Bottom After Losing His Successful Career In “Merry Berry Love”

The upcoming Korean-Japanese series “Merry Berry Love” has unveiled new stills featuring Ji Chang Wook in character!

“Merry Berry Love” is a romantic comedy about Lee Yu Bin (Ji Chang Wook), a Korean spatial designer who achieved great success in Korea but loses everything overnight and travels to a Japanese island in hopes of turning his life around. There, he meets Shirahama Karin (Imada Mio), a young Japanese strawberry farmer who has devoted her life to growing strawberries.

Ji Chang Wook plays Lee Yu Bin, a man whose successful career as a top-tier spatial designer comes crashing down overnight, leaving him unemployed. The newly released stills capture the stark contrast between his life before and after his fall from success, showing both the polished city man who exudes a professional aura and the unemployed man catching brief naps while looking disheveled.

Once accustomed to a relaxed atmosphere, perfect hairstyle and a desk surrounded by office tools and covered with blueprints, Lee Yu Bin eventually sheds his chic persona completely.

Seo Kang Jun Talks About “A Love Other Than Yours,” Aspirations For His Acting Career, And More

Seo Kang Jun recently sat down with ELLE Korea to discuss his currently airing drama “A Love Other Than Yours”!

KBS 2TV’s “A Love Other Than Yours” is a realistic romance drama that follows a couple in their 10th year of dating as they experience unexpected emotional changes in a relationship that once felt familiar. Seo Kang Jun stars as Namgoong Ho, a corporate employee who would do anything for his longtime girlfriend Lee Mi Do (Ahn Eun Jin).

When asked how he felt after wrapping up filming, he remarked, “I exhausted myself quite a bit trying to fully understand Namgoong Ho and Mi Do’s hearts and states of mind, in addition to expressing the emotions that stemmed from them.” He continued, “I’m currently experiencing a kind of exhaustion that comes after pouring out all the emotions inside me.”

About his character Namgoong Ho, Seo Kang Jun shared his own interpretation of the character by explaining, “I wanted him to be someone who seems very put-together, respects boundaries, and is diligent, but is also an anxious person living an unstable life.”

When asked about the questions the drama raises about love and relationships, he remarked, “I believe I have to stand firmly on my own feet in order to love someone properly. Sacrificing yourself for someone is one of the many ways of loving, but the prerequisite is fully maintaining your own life. Your partner should not become the reason for your life.”

Seo Kang Jun, who focuses on building his life one step at a time rather than setting clear-cut life goals, was asked about the emptiness that follows small moments of happiness. He replied, “Emptiness is a precious opportunity that allows me to face my true self.” He added, “Among the elements that make a long life meaningful, there are not only positive emotions, but also solitude, emptiness, and loneliness.” Referring to Hermann Hesse’s novel “Siddhartha,” he revealed how delving into his inner self and exploring who he is are also closely connected to his life as an actor.

He also openly shared his aspirations for his acting career. “I want to push beyond my current limits when it comes to expression,” Seo Kang Jun shared, talking about the next stage he hopes to reach as an actor. “At the same time, I want to have the courage to scale back my expressions—to bring my emotions further inward so they can be conveyed without necessarily being shown, and to deliver performances that aren’t superficial.”

Ahn Eun Jin Struggles To Advance Her Career As A Film Director In New Drama “A Love Other Than Yours”

KBS2’s upcoming drama “A Love Other Than Yours” has released new stills of Ahn Eun Jin!

“A Love Other Than Yours” is a realistic romance drama that follows a couple in their 10th year of dating as they experience unexpected emotional changes in a relationship that once felt familiar.

Ahn Eun Jin plays Lee Mi Do, a film director and Namgoong Ho’s (Seo Kang Jun) girlfriend of 10 years. Lee Mi Do is a rising film director who once drew attention with her short films but has reached the lowest point in her life as her next projects have fallen through one after another. She achieved her dream earlier than anyone else but now finds herself unable to move on to the next stage, repeatedly treading water as she confronts reality head-on.

By Mi Do’s side is Namgoong Ho, who has been with her since they were 7 years old. He is her oldest friend and the boyfriend who has stood by her for 10 years. However, with both her career and love life making it difficult to confidently look toward what comes next, Mi Do finds herself deep in thought about her present and future. Then, as unexpected unfamiliar emotions begin to penetrate her once-familiar daily life, complicated changes also begin to take place in her heart.

The stills capture the realistic side of film director Lee Mi Do. As she moves between the spaces of her everyday life, including filming locations and work cafes, she shows both her determination to hold on to her dream until the end and her uncertainty as she struggles with a reality that does not unfold as she wishes.
