Hani Dishes On Her Resilient Character And Her Charms In “Love On The Menu”

Hani has shared more insights into her upcoming drama “Love on the Menu”!

“Love on the Menu” is a family romance drama that follows Kim Moo Jin (Ha Seok Jin) and Han Gyu Rim (Hani), two former lovers who reunite eight years after a painful breakup. As they reconnect, they piece together the fragments of their broken families and create the warmest table of life together.

Making her weekend drama debut as Han Gyu Rim, Hani shared, “Since weekend dramas are something the whole family watches together, I was excited, but I also felt a lot of pressure and a strong sense of responsibility.”

Explaining why she chose the role, she said, “Han Gyu Rim hasn’t had an easy life, but she doesn’t let that turn her into someone who hates the world. She’s been hurt, endured so much, and carried far more responsibility than anyone should have to, yet she continues to move forward, protects the people she loves, and finds a way to smile again. That part of her stayed with me for a long time.”

Hani also spoke about how she prepared for the character, saying, “Han Gyu Rim didn’t suddenly become a strong person overnight. She became that way because she had to take care of her family from a very young age. As I prepared for the role, I wanted there to be both the face of a mother and the face of a daughter who still needs her own mother.” She continued, “Because life felt so overwhelming to her, I think the more she loved Moo Jin, the more afraid she became.”

Describing Han Gyu Rim with the keywords “resilience,” “love,” and “strength,” Hani explained, “There must have been countless moments when she wanted to give up, but she persevered day after day to protect her family. She lies at times and even runs away, but deep down, everything she does comes from love. It broke my heart because those choices were her way of protecting the people she cared about. Even so, she’s someone who can still smile and show kindness, and I found that strength truly admirable.”

Returning to acting for the first time in three years, Hani remarked, “‘Love on the Menu’ is a story about people who choose to keep loving and living their lives, even if they aren’t perfect and have been hurt many times. I hope it becomes a warm drama that families can enjoy watching together. Please give it lots of love and support.”

“Love on the Menu” premieres on July 25 at 8 p.m. KST.

Jo Hye Joo, Kim Do Wan, Lee Joon Hyuk, And More Bring Diverse Charms To New Drama “Spooky In Love”

tvN’s upcoming drama “Spooky in Love” has unveiled new stills of its supporting cast!

A remake of the 2011 film “Spellbound,” “Spooky in Love” is an occult romance drama about the chaotic partnership between a hotel heiress who can see ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who is terrified of them.

Amid the love triangle involving Cheon Yeo Ri (Park Eun Bin), Ma Gang Wook (Yang Se Jong), and Kang Min Hwan (Ong Seong Wu), the stills showcase the supporting characters who become entangled with them.

Jo Hye Joo takes on the role of Cheon Ha Ri, a member of the royal family of Reina Hotel & Resort Group. Cheon Ha Ri is Cheon Yeo Ri’s cousin from a collateral branch of the family and is in a disadvantageous position in the succession race. Harboring feelings of inferiority and a complex toward Cheon Yeo Ri, she watches for an opportunity to take her place.

Kim Do Wan plays professional golfer Park Seung Jae, Cheon Ha Ri’s fiancé and the only son of a family at the top of South Korea’s power elite. Park Seung Jae, who holds a grudge against prosecutor Ma Gang Wook over a past legal dispute, forms a tense confrontation with Cheon Yeo Ri and Ma Gang Wook alongside Cheon Ha Ri.

Kim Seo Ra plays Song Hee Won, the vice chairwoman of CL Hotel & Resort Group. With a gentle appearance and a determined personality, Song Hee Won is a character who lives while hiding a secret about her son Kang Min Hwan.

Lee Joon Hyuk takes on the role of Bong Ji Wook, the general manager of Reina Hotel. As a capable professional responsible for the hotel’s overall operation, Bong Ji Wook closely assists CEO Cheon Yeo Ri while secretly developing a sense of closeness with her.

Baek Ji Won plays Ok Gye Hee, the mother of Cheon Ha Ri. She is a character who meticulously designs the succession plan to pass the group down to her own children instead of Cheon Yeo Ri. Having spent years walking on eggshells around her mother-in-law Baek Kyung Ja (Ye Soo Jung), she displays exceptional social savvy.

Lee Chang Hoon takes on the role of Go Pil Dong, an investigator at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. With excellent intuition and the ability to read situations, Go Pil Dong is a close friend of prosecutor Ma Gang Wook, with whom he shares a brotherly bond.

“Spooky in Love” will premiere on July 18 at 9:10 p.m. KST.

Song Geon Hee, Seo Ji Hye, Jung Moon Sung, Baek Hyun Jin, And More Bring Diverse Charms To New Drama “The Scarecrow”

ENA’s upcoming drama “The Scarecrow” has unveiled new stills featuring its supporting cast!

“The Scarecrow” follows a detective investigating a series of murders who is forced into an unlikely partnership with a man he despises. Set between 1988 and 2019, the suspenseful story tracks two men bound by misfortune and an uneasy alliance of hatred as they chase the truth across 30 years.

The stills show characters who appear to have stepped out of Gangseong in 1988 and reflect the mood and emotion of that time. First, the stills show Lee Ki Beom (Song Geon Hee) and Kang Soon Young (Seo Ji Hye) looking at each other with warm, affectionate eyes.

The two are a same-age couple who grew up in the same neighborhood and have promised to marry, but they are unexpectedly pulled into a series of murders and face major hardships. Lee Ki Beom, the younger brother of Lee Ki Hwan (Jung Moon Sung), is a responsible young man who will do anything for his family and loved ones. Kang Soon Young, the younger sister of Kang Tae Joo (Park Hae Soo), is an elementary school teacher with a calm and steady personality.

Another still shows Lee Ki Hwan, a bookstore owner, spending time with longtime hometown friends and former elementary school classmates Kang Tae Joo and Seo Ji Won (Kwak Sun Young) after a long time, looking happier and more comfortable than ever.

In another still, Kang Tae Joo is seen with four Gangseong Police Station officers Kim Man Chun (Baek Hyun Jin), Jang Myung Do (Jeon Jae Hong), Do Hyung Gu (Kim Eun Woo), and Park Dae Ho (Ryu Hae Joon) as they review case logs together. They work both independently and together to catch the true culprit behind the serial killings that have shaken Gangseong.

Squad chief Kim Man Chun is a seasoned officer with depth and experience who delivers a strong and steady presence. With his down-to-earth leadership, he serves as a pillar of support for Kang Tae Joo.

In contrast, Jang Myung Do and Do Hyung Gu are figures who frequently clash with Kang Tae Joo and drive conflict. Their intense and rough presence dominates the atmosphere, portraying corrupt officers who bow to power and rely on violence.

The youngest detective at Gangseong Police Station, Park Dae Ho, is shown in a tense and cautious stance. Though still clumsy and inexperienced, he diligently follows Kang Tae Joo and takes part in investigations at crime scenes.

“The Scarecrow” premieres on April 20 at 10 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
