Cha Seung Won, Ra Mi Ran, Park Hyung Sik, And More Confirmed For New Action Comedy Film
The upcoming film “Family Force” (literal title) has unveiled its star-studded cast and officially begun filming!
“Family Force” is an action comedy film about three generations of a Marine Corps family who take on a terrorist threat—not with combat skills or intelligence, but with the power of family.
Cha Seung Won plays Cheol Doo, a former Marine Corps master sergeant who lives by the family motto, “Once a Marine, always a Marine.” While visiting the hospital where his father Cheol Seong is receiving treatment, Cheol Doo finds himself caught up in a multinational terrorist plot alongside his wife Ye Bun and their son Cheol Hoon.
Ra Mi Ran plays Ye Bun, Cheol Doo’s wife and the emotional pillar of the three-generation Marine family.
Park Hyung Sik is making his long-awaited return to the big screen with “Family Force,” marking his first film role in approximately seven years. He plays Cheol Hoon, the son of Cheol Doo and Ye Bun and a sergeant in the Marine Corps Special Reconnaissance Unit. While on his final vacation before discharge, Cheol Hoon unexpectedly becomes caught up in a terrorist attack.
Veteran actor Baek Yoon Shik plays Cheol Seong, the eldest member of the three-generation Marine family. A first-generation Marine and war veteran decorated for his service, Cheol Seong is the family’s patriarch.
Chang Ryul takes on the role of Tae In, a mysterious man who carries out a terrorist attack at a major hospital in Seoul alongside multinational terrorists.
The film is directed by Won Shin Yeon, a renowned action filmmaker known for helming Korean films such as “Memoir of a Murderer,” “The Suspect,” “Seven Days,” and more.
Reflecting on the start of filming, director Won Shin Yeon said, “We have spent a long time preparing for this project, and I’m looking forward to creating a high-quality film with such a wonderful cast and crew.”
Cha Seung Won said, “It’s a story about a family coming together, but they’re not an ordinary family, which made the script even more fun to read. I’m very excited to be working with director Won Shin Yeon and such a great cast and crew. I’ll do my best to make the shoot as fun as possible.”
Ra Mi Ran commented, “It’s an honor to work on such a great project with actors I’ve always enjoyed watching. I was a little nervous about returning to action after a long time, but the director has given me a clear vision for the film and my character, so I think I just need to practice hard and follow his lead. I hope everyone can stay safe and healthy throughout filming.”
Park Hyung Sik shared, “I was excited even before the script reading at the thought of working alongside such great senior actors. I’m looking forward to having fun creating this project with the wonderful director, senior and junior colleagues, fellow actors, and crew. I hope you’ll show the film lots of interest and love.”
Baek Yoon Shik said, “I’m happy to be working with a great director and younger colleagues. I’m looking forward to showing audiences the fun and lively story of a Marine Corps family.”
Chang Ryul remarked, “I feel like fate has brought me together with the best team. We’ll put a great deal of thought into the project and work together to create a high-quality film. I hope you’ll look forward to it.”
“Family Force” began filming in September and is currently in production.

12 K-Dramas Which Serve Dark Comedy With A Slice Of Entertainment
K-dramas have never been afraid to find humor in uncomfortable places. From dysfunctional families and marital warfare to murder, revenge, and desperate struggles for survival, black comedy allows these dramas to explore the darker side of life without taking themselves too seriously. The humor can be absurd, satirical, or downright macabre, often making the characters’ increasingly outrageous situations even more entertaining.
If you enjoy stories where morally complicated characters find themselves in situations that keep spiralling out of control, these dramas offer plenty of dark laughs alongside their thrills.
“The Affair Was Just the Beginning”
Kyung Hee (Kim Hye Soo) is a successful CEO of an interior design company and a popular influencer who has built an image of a happy, successful family with her husband Jae Hong (Kim Ji Hun). Their seemingly perfect life is disrupted when they become entangled with their neighbors, dermatologist Soo Jung (Cho Yeo Jeong) and her ex-husband Bo Sung (Kim Jae Chul), who are locked in a bitter divorce battle. A secret involving the two families sets off a chain reaction that makes an ordinary affair seem almost trivial.
The drama takes the familiar ingredients of marital secrets and neighborhood rivalry and pushes them into increasingly outrageous territory. The contrast between the polished public images these characters maintain and the chaos unfolding behind closed doors makes for a deliciously dark comedy.

“Mad Concrete Dreams”
Ki Su Jong (Ha Jung Woo) is the owner of Seyun Building, but mounting debts and problems with his property leave him struggling to hold onto the life he has built for his family. His friend, Min Hwal Seong (Kim Jun Han), desperate to solve his own financial problems, draws him into a fake kidnapping scheme. Kim Seon (Lim Soo Jung), Su Jong’s strong-willed wife, tries to protect their family as the situation spirals, while Yo Na (Shim Eun Kyung), a ruthless operative, has her own interest in Su Jong’s building.
What begins as a desperate attempt to solve a financial problem quickly turns into a dangerous mess. The drama finds its black humor in ordinary people making increasingly terrible decisions while trying to escape problems that only keep getting bigger.

“The Escape of the Seven”
The disappearance of a young girl brings together seven people whose lives are already tangled in lies, ambition, and betrayal. Geum Ra Hee (Hwang Jung Eum) is an aggressive drama production company CEO and the girl’s biological mother. Min Do Hyuk (Lee Joon) is a former gangster, while Han Mo Ne (Lee Yoo Bi) is an aspiring idol whose seemingly perfect life hides a web of lies. Cha Joo Ran (Shin Eun Kyung) is a doctor whose relationship with wealthy businessman Bang Chil Sung (Lee Deok Hwa) is driven by money. At the center of the mystery is Matthew Lee (Uhm Ki Joon), the mysterious head of a major mobile platform company.
This is melodrama pushed to deliberately outrageous extremes. Lies, revenge, murder, and betrayal keep escalating, creating a story that’s so excessive that its sheer unpredictability becomes part of the dark fun.

“Bittersweet Hell”
Noh Young Won (Kim Hee Sun) is a successful psychiatrist whose carefully constructed family life begins to fall apart. Her mother-in-law, Hong Sa Kang (Lee Hye Young), is a mystery writer with her own secrets, while Young Won’s husband Choi Jae Jin (Kim Nam Hee) and a mysterious young woman, Lee Se Na (Yeonwoo), become part of the increasingly complicated situation.
At its heart, this is a story about a family that looks perfect from the outside but is riddled with secrets. The increasingly bizarre battle between family members gives the thriller a wickedly comedic edge.

“The Kidnapping Day”
Kim Myung Joon (Yoon Kye Sang) is a financially desperate father who agrees to kidnap Choi Ro Hee (Jeon Yu Na), the daughter of a wealthy family, in order to pay for his own daughter’s medical treatment. But Ro Hee is no ordinary kidnapping victim. After losing her memory, the remarkably intelligent girl becomes an unexpected partner to her inexperienced kidnapper. Detective Park Sang Yoon (Park Sung Hoon) investigates the case, while Myung Joon’s ex-wife Seo Hye Eun (Kim Shin Rok) is also caught up in the story.
The unlikely relationship between a bumbling kidnapper and an exceptionally clever child gives this thriller much of its humor. The story gradually becomes more than a crime plot, mixing mystery, emotion, and dark comedy.
“Fifties Professionals”
Jung Ho Myung (Shin Ha Kyun), Bong Je Soon (Oh Jung Se) and Kang Beom Ryong (Heo Sung Tae) were once at the top of their respective fields. After a mysterious incident forced them into exile on Yeongseon Island, the three men have spent years away from the action. A new turn of events brings their old skills back into play as they set out to uncover the truth about what happened a decade earlier. Ma Gong Bok (Lee Hak Joo) is among the characters connected to their story.
The drama mixes action with comedy built around three middle-aged men being pulled back into a world they thought they had left behind. Their age, past reputations, and very different present-day lives create plenty of opportunities for humor.

“The Penthouse”
Set in the ultra-luxurious Hera Palace, the show revolves around three women from very different backgrounds. Shim Soo Ryeon (Lee Ji Ah) is the elegant woman at the top of the social hierarchy. Cheon Seo Jin (Kim So Yeon) is a wealthy, ambitious soprano who will go to extraordinary lengths to protect her status, while Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene) comes from a poor background and is determined to enter the world of high society for her daughter. Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon), Soo Ryeon’s husband, is a wealthy businessman with his own ruthless ambitions.
“The Penthouse” is melodrama at its most excessive, with revenge, murder, betrayal, and social ambition constantly raising the stakes. Its outrageous twists and larger-than-life characters make even its darkest moments strangely entertaining.

“A Killer Paradox”
Lee Tang (Choi Woo Shik) is an ordinary young man whose life changes after he accidentally kills someone. He soon discovers that the people he kills may themselves be criminals, leading him down an increasingly dangerous path. Detective Jang Nan Gam (Son Suk Ku) begins investigating the murders, while former detective Song Chon (Lee Hee Joon) is also hunting Lee Tang.
The drama takes the familiar serial killer thriller and gives it an absurd moral premise: what if the victims really are people who deserve punishment? Its deadpan humor, strange situations, and morally ambiguous characters make it an unusual black comedy.
“Vincenzo”
Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong Ki) is a Korean-born Italian mafia consigliere who returns to Korea and becomes involved in a battle against a powerful conglomerate. Lawyer Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Been) becomes his ally, while Jang Joon Woo (Taecyeon), who initially appears harmless, hides a very different personality. Together, they take on a ruthless corporate enemy using methods that are anything but conventional.
“Vincenzo” mixes mafia drama, revenge, and courtroom battles with broad, often deliberately absurd comedy. The eccentric residents of Geumga Plaza add another layer of humor to a story where the line between hero and villain is intentionally blurred.
“Agent Kim Reactivated”
Manager Kim (So Ji Sub) appears to be an ordinary office worker and a devoted single father to teenage daughter Kim Min Ji (Seo Su Min). But when Min Ji goes missing, his carefully hidden past comes to light: he was once a highly skilled agent.
The biggest source of fun is the contrast between Manager Kim’s quiet life as an ordinary father and the lethal operative he has kept hidden. The transformation from mild-mannered dad to highly trained agent gives this action thriller plenty of comedic moments.
“Mask Girl”
Kim Mo Mi is an ordinary office worker who has always dreamed of performing but is deeply insecure about her appearance. At night, she becomes “Mask Girl,” an anonymous internet broadcaster who hides her face behind a mask. The character is played by three actresses at different stages of her life: Lee Han Byeol portrays Mo Mi before plastic surgery, Nana plays her after surgery, and Go Hyun Jung portrays her later in life.
“Mask Girl” uses dark humor to explore beauty standards, loneliness, obsession, and the desire to be seen. Its increasingly twisted story turns an ordinary woman’s secret online identity into a disturbing chain of events.
“Family Matters”
Han Young Soo (Bae Doona), Baek Chul Hee (Ryoo Seung Bum), Baek Kang Seong (Baek Yoon Sik), Baek Ji Hoon (Lomon), and Baek Ji Woo (Lee Su Hyun) appear to be an ordinary family, but they are actually a group of people with extraordinary abilities who escaped from a facility where they were subjected to brutal training. They now live together while trying to maintain the appearance of a normal family and protect themselves from dangerous criminals. Young Soo also has the ability to manipulate memories.
The idea of a dysfunctional surrogate family with superpowers already gives the drama an unusual comedic streak. Add violent criminals and extraordinary abilities, and “Family Matters” becomes a quirky mix of thriller, crime, and dark humor.

Watch: Lee Sun Bin Accidentally Becomes A CSAT Question Setter In New Comedy Film “Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng”
The upcoming film “Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng” has unveiled its main poster and trailer!
“Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng” is a comedy film about Maeng Bo Ram (Lee Sun Bin), a Korean language teacher from a small provincial town who unexpectedly joins the team responsible for creating Korea’s College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), also known as the Suneung, due to an administrative error. The question-setting headquarters is sealed off for 40 days as the committee works in complete secrecy to create “problem-free questions” without any typos or room for dispute.
The main poster captures a meeting room inside the question-setting headquarters in complete chaos, with CSAT passages flying in every direction. At the center, Maeng Bo Ram looks utterly shocked and unsure of what to do. Meanwhile, Moon Joo Yeol (Yoo Jae Myung), the head of the Korean language question-setting committee, and Park Kyung Tae (Kim Young Min), the head of the CSAT review committee, engage in a heated confrontation across a desk. Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation employee Ki Jun Su (Jeon Seok Ho) desperately throws himself between them in an attempt to stop the fight.
The poster offers a glimpse of the intense 40-day project undertaken by the question-setting committee members as they work to create an exam that will determine the fate of approximately 500,000 students.
The newly released trailer begins on the day of the CSAT, when the entire country is on edge. As announcers report that aircraft takeoffs and landings have been suspended and the opening of the stock market has been delayed, the trailer then flashes back 40 days to reveal the chaos behind the scenes at the question-setting headquarters.
Maeng Bo Ram initially arrives at the headquarters bright-eyed and cheerful, only to be dragged into somewhere without knowing what is happening. As Ki Jun Su frantically shouts, “It’s an emergency in the Korean language department right now!” the trailer reveals that an error occurred during the recruitment process, resulting in the inexperienced Maeng Bo Ram being brought in instead of another Maeng Bo Ram who was actually a seasoned expert.
Inside the completely sealed-off facility, the inexperienced Maeng Bo Ram refuses to be intimidated as she struggles to keep up with the veteran Korean language question setters, whose heated meetings are filled with intense debates and raised voices. The trailer rapidly cuts between the tense discussions and Bo Ram’s determined efforts to complete her mission.
The trailer ends on a lighter note, with Park Kyung Tae giving Bo Ram a thumbs-up and telling her, “You did very well.” Meanwhile, Bo Ram ducks down behind the desk, cheering with delight at his praise.

Kang Dong Won, Um Tae Goo, And Park Ji Hyun Face Unexpected Chaos On Their Comeback Journey In Comedy Film “Wild Sing”
The upcoming comedy film “Wild Sing” has unveiled new stills!
“Wild Sing” is a comedy movie that follows the story of TRIANGLE, a once-popular co-ed trio that fell into obscurity after an unfortunate incident. The film depicts their chaotic journey as they attempt to reunite and make a comeback.
The newly released stills offer a glimpse of the film’s signature chaotic charm as the members of TRIANGLE—who dream of making a comeback—along with their former rival singer Sung Gon (Oh Jung Se), become entangled in a string of unexpected incidents. From Kang Dong Won as Hyun Woo and Um Tae Goo as Sang Gu to Park Ji Hyun as Do Mi and Oh Jung Se as Sung Gon, the four characters repeatedly stumble into unpredictable situations that promise plenty of laughs.
One still captures Hyun Woo frozen in shock after discovering someone collapsed in the middle of a parking lot. Another shows the TRIANGLE members staring downward with tense expressions, hinting at the start of a strange incident and suggesting that their road to reclaiming past glory will be far from easy.
Additional stills show the group—and Sung Gon—suddenly coming face-to-face with a mysterious armed threat while on the move. Hyun Woo looks visibly startled inside the vehicle, while the others stand frozen in the middle of the road, creating a tense atmosphere while still maintaining the film’s comedic tone.

3 Reasons To Anticipate The Upcoming Comedy Film “Wild Sing”
Get ready for the comedy film “Wild Sing”!
“Wild Sing” is a comedy movie that follows the story of TRIANGLE, a once-popular co-ed trio that fell into obscurity after an unfortunate incident. The film depicts their chaotic journey as they attempt to reunite and make a comeback.
Ahead of its premiere, “Wild Sing” unveiled three reasons to tune in to the film!
1. The strong combination of Kang Dong Won, Um Tae Goo, Park Ji Hyun, and Oh Jung Se
The film brings together popular actors known for their visuals and acting skills. Kang Dong Won, who plays Hyun Woo, the group’s leader, shows a new side of himself through light comedic acting and performance skills.
Um Tae Goo plays Sang Gu, a rapper fully devoted to hip hop. He adds comedic charm to his usually serious image, helping drive the film’s humor.
Park Ji Hyun plays Do Mi, the group’s center, portraying a confident and energetic “girl crush” character with a surprising twist.
Oh Jung Se plays Sung Gon, a struggling ballad singer who has placed No. 2 on music shows for 39 straight weeks. He stands out with his scene-stealing comedic performance, completing the ensemble.
There is also growing anticipation for supporting performers, including an appearance by Shin Ha Kyun, along with a supporting cast of uniquely characterized actors.
2. A summer hit promising to deliver laughs
“Wild Sing” blends the upbeat energy of comedy with musical elements. The film is a collaboration between the production company behind “Extreme Job” and director Son Jae Gon, who has long specialized in comedy, raising expectations for its overall quality.
Unexpected situations and the cast’s chemistry are expected to deliver easy laughs. In addition, stage performances infused with K-pop sensibilities add to the film’s entertainment value.
3. Music designed to appeal to all generations
The film’s music quality was elevated through the involvement of a wide range of K-pop creators. Composer Shim Eun Ji, who has worked with TWICE, SHINee, and IU, along with JYP production staff and the choreography team behind SSAK3, joined the project as part of its K-pop-focused production team.
The soundtrack features an addictive dance track, “Love Is,” the high-energy “Shout It Out,” and the soft ballad “I Like You.” Each song is designed so that viewers can sing along after just one listen and are encouraged to add them to their playlists. Styling and stage performances inspired by Y2K aesthetics are also key points of interest.
In addition, the film is rolling out a range of promotional activities that resemble real idol promotions, including character social media accounts, music video releases, and fan chant content, all aimed at deepening audience immersion in the story.
