“Mission: Mompossible” Stars Dish On Upcoming Drama + How They Prepared For Their Roles

The stars of KBS 1TV’s upcoming drama “Mission: Mompossible” have shared their thoughts on the story, their characters, and more!

“Mission: Mompossible” is a new weekday drama about two very different mothers and the entangled lives of their children. One mom has sacrificed everything and devoted herself entirely to her family for a long time, while the other mom has lived her life solely for herself.

Jung Min Ah will star as Kang Da Mi, Jo Mimi (Kim Hee Jung)’s youngest daughter. When asked how similar her real-life personality was to Kang Da Mi, Jung Min Ah said they had a “synchronization level” of 80 percent.

“We’re similar in the way we try to think of things in a positive light and how once we make up our minds about something, we don’t easily give up and try to see it through until the end,” explained Jung Min Ah. “When a difficult situation arises, rather than letting it get me down for too long, I think first, ‘What should I do now to try to resolve this?’”

Jung Min Ah went on to describe “Mission: Mompossible” as “a family story about finding yourself.”

“At first, it might seem like just a fun and chaotic story about families, but ultimately, it’s a story about characters finding their true selves, which they had momentarily forgotten while living with their respective families,” said the actress.

“Some characters have put themselves on the back burner for the sake of their family, and some have lived their lives while prioritizing other people over their own dreams,” she continued. “As these characters clash and come to understand one another, they look back on their own lives and grow as people. The journey of their growth is a key charm of this drama.”

Dong Ha will star as fashion designer Cha Seung Yoon, who is the eldest grandson of Hwang Geum Soon (Kim Young Ok). Regarding similarities to his character, he shared, “We’re similar in how we have a lot of affection for other people and are soft-hearted.”

The actor went on to reveal, “Towards the beginning of filming, the director told me that later on, Seung Yoon would experience immense emotional pain beyond compare. In the latter half of the drama, I plan to pour out everything I have, both as actor Dong Ha and as the character Cha Seung Yoon, while portraying Seung Yoon’s pain and emotions.”

Describing his character, Dong Ha remarked, “Seung Yoon gets easily attached to other people, and he’s someone with a lot of painful wounds and memories. The more wounds he has, the more he tries not to let other people get too close, in order to avoid getting hurt, and he sometimes intentionally speaks coldly to people in order to not get attached.”

He added, “I hope you’ll take note of Seung Yoon’s various hidden charms.”

Kim Hee Jung will star as Jo Mimi, a mom who worked hard to raise three kids while also running a restaurant.

“‘Mission: Mompossible’ is a story about different kinds of lives and the moments encountered within them,” said Kim Hee Jung. “While following along with the characters’ lives, you’ll find yourself encountering scenes that feel like they’re from your own life.”

As for what viewers should pay attention to in the story, the actress commented, “I hope you’ll keep an eye on the journey of how people, each facing their own trials and hardships, endure and rebuild their lives.”

“Jo Mimi is a mom who thought she’d done a pretty good job raising her three kids and felt proud of the life she’d lived, but life keeps sending new adversities her way,” she continued. “I hope you’ll join us to find out how Mimi overcomes the difficult ups and downs of life.”

Finally, Kang Kyung Hun will play the role of Jeon Jin Hee, the daughter-in-law of Hwang Geum Soon.

Kang Kyung Hun revealed that she paid careful attention to building her stamina while preparing for the drama, explaining, “I learned through personal experience that if you run out of physical stamina, you lose focus, and everything you need in order to act begins to waver.”

She continued, “I thought that for this drama, I should build up my stamina in advance so that I could maintain good focus up until the end while acting.”

When asked to pick a keyword for her character, Kang Kyung Hun chose “ambition.” The actress teased, “I think it’ll be entertaining to keep an eye on how much of her ambition Jin Hee is able to achieve, along with how that ambition ultimately reveals itself.”

Kim Ji Yeon recalled her experience on set, saying, “Every moment was so enjoyable that it felt like we were doing a ‘try not to laugh challenge’ every time we filmed—I had so much fun, it was to the point that the hardest part of filming was actually trying to hold back our laughter.”

She gave their teamwork “9 out of 10,” adding, “Our teamwork is perfect, but I think viewers will fill in that final point. I hope you’ll join us for ‘Dive Into You’ as you watch the friendship and love between the characters, along with their various stories.”

Park Seo Ham described the set as feeling “just like a holiday family gathering,” saying, “We’re having so much fun filming in such a comfortable atmosphere that there’s hardly ever a moment without laughter. I think this atmosphere is possible because we have such great chemistry with one another. I’m always grateful to be filming with everyone because I can really feel how much we care for and support one another in every moment. I think that chemistry is coming through well in the drama, too, so please look forward to it.”

Jang Se Hyuk shared, “They made the effort to come up to me first from the very beginning, so we quickly became close. We also joke around a lot, so I think our chemistry came naturally. As we continued filming, there were moments when we could understand each other through just our eyes or reactions without even having to rehearse together. I think we’re a team that really clicks.”

Finally, Moon Seung You, who plays Yoon Ha Ru’s girlfriend of 10 years Seo Ye Rang, used her character’s name Ye Rang to express her affection for the “Dive into You” team, saying, “Yeverybody, I Sarang [love] you.” She added, “We clicked well from the very first day of filming, and as we continued working together, we naturally came to understand each other’s styles better, which made our chemistry even stronger. If I had to rate our chemistry, I’d give it a 5 out of 5, because there isn’t a single flaw in our teamwork.”

Kian84, Kim Yeon Koung, Lee Junho, And Kazuha Dish On Their Unforgettable Experience On “Kian’s Bizarre B&B 2”

An even wilder and more chaotic adventure is about to unfold in “Kian’s Bizarre B&B” Season 2!

“Kian’s Bizarre B&B” is a Netflix variety show in which Kian84 and his castmates run a one-of-a-kind guesthouse. Season 1 featured Kian84, BTS’s Jin, and Ji Ye Eun operating a unique lodging on the scenic island of Ulleungdo, offering guests an unforgettable hospitality experience. For Season 2, former volleyball player Kim Yeon Koung, 2PM’s Lee Junho, and LE SSERAFIM’s Kazuha will be joining him.

This time, the second branch of “Kian’s Bizarre B&B” has been built deep in the mountains of Daegwallyeong in the middle of winter.

With more experience under his belt as a guesthouse owner, Kian84 is returning as a more thoughtful and mature(?) “seasoned owner” who is determined to better cater to his guests. Joining him are “passionate rookie employees” Kim Yeon Koung, Lee Junho, and Kazuha, who work hard to help their boss while also keeping him in check from time to time. Their lively dynamic is raising anticipation for the daily adventures at the second branch.

Ahead of opening the second branch, Kian84 said he felt a greater sense of responsibility and pressure. He shared, “At the second branch, I tried to communicate more with the guests. Living together with the guests gave me a chance to learn a lot about the things I was lacking. We put a lot of care into preparing this unique and enjoyable second branch of ‘Kian’s Bizarre B&B,’ so I hope many people will come stay with us.”

Kim Yeon Koung is in charge of a lot of things: from keeping Kian84 in line and overseeing the guesthouse’s cleanliness to bringing plenty of energy as the resident mood maker. She remarked, “Almost nothing at ‘Kian’s Bizarre B&B’ goes according to plan. I hope viewers will enjoy seeing how we handle unexpected situations and the stories we create with the guests. There’s plenty of laughter, as well as warm human connections and fun chemistry between the cast, so please enjoy it all the way to the end.”

Lee Junho will show off his sweet and capable side as an all-around employee who can do everything from cooking to cleaning, while also revealing his perfectionist tendencies as he tries to organize every situation flawlessly. He said, “’Kian’s Bizarre B&B’ was an unforgettable experience. I hope viewers will also put themselves in the hands of Boss Kian’s imagination. Since we experienced things that are difficult to encounter in everyday life, there will be plenty of unexpected fun, so please look forward to it.”

Kazuha is the youngest employee who not only gives everything her all but has also earned a reputation as the one who delivers “straight-to-the-point reality checks” to Kian84 and her fellow employees. She shared, “In a way, you’ll be able to see us gradually becoming stronger, almost like we’re in a survival game. Most of all, every guest had their own story, and I received a lot of inspiration and warm energy from them. There will be many stories that offer viewers comfort and courage, so I hope the show can become a ‘mealtime companion’ that families can comfortably enjoy together during Chuseok.”

PD Lee So Min added, “The second branch welcomed guests from diverse nationalities and professions, each with their own stories. Since Kian84 wanted to communicate more with the guests than he did at the first branch, they naturally spent more time eating, chatting, and playing games together. The setting of Daegwallyeong in the middle of winter, with its cold outdoors and long nights, naturally gave everyone more time to sit together in one space, share meals, play games, and talk.”

Seo Kang Jun, Ahn Eun Jin, Lee Joo Ahn, And Jo Aram Dish On Their Characters’ Approach To Love In “A Love Other Than Yours”

The four cast members of “A Love Other Than Yours” have shared how their characters approach love and what choices they would make in different situations.

“A Love Other Than Yours” is a realistic romance drama that follows Namgoong Ho (Seo Kang Jun) and Lee Mi Do (Ahn Eun Jin), a couple in their 10th year of dating as they experience unexpected emotional changes in a relationship that once felt familiar.

First, Seo Kang Jun said that for Namgoong Ho, “love isn’t something you can solve by avoiding it.” He explained that Namgoong Ho would “face it head-on and openly lay everything out, even if it means sitting down with all three people involved.”

He added, “He’s the type of person who wants to face everything, so even if he doesn’t know what the outcome will be, if he loves someone, he wants to confront it all.” As Seo Kang Jun’s description suggests, Namgoong Ho would rather seek an answer than turn away when problems arise in his relationship. Having naturally envisioned a future with his longtime partner, viewers will be watching to see how he responds when both he and his girlfriend find themselves facing unexpected changes in their feelings.

Seo Kang Jun, Ahn Eun Jin, Lee Joo Ahn, And Jo Aram Dish On Their Characters’ Approach To Love In “A Love Other Than Yours”插图

Meanwhile, Ahn Eun Jin emphasized that for Lee Mi Do, “the weight of the time they’ve spent together matters above all else.” She explained, “I think there must be a reason a couple who has spent 10 years together hasn’t broken up until now,” adding, “I think I would try to do my best to protect this love.”

She also noted that she would find it difficult to bear the pain of separating from someone who has already become a part of her life. “There may be unexpected moments of wavering, but I would try not to take any active action beyond that,” she said.

Although Namgoong Ho and Lee Mi Do have loved each other for the same 10 years, their approaches to facing a crisis are subtly different, making the choices they ultimately make another key point to watch in “A Love Other Than Yours.”

Meanwhile, Han Tae Seung (Lee Joo Ahn) and Park Soo Ah (Jo Aram), who enter the lives of the couple, are far less accustomed to hiding their feelings.

For Han Tae Seung, who cannot rest until he gets an answer when he wants something, Lee Joo Ahn said that “‘pretending not to know’ doesn’t really suit him.” He explained, “I think Tae Seung would say something. He would probably act on his own without considering the other person’s feelings. It’s not because he has malicious intentions, but because it’s part of Tae Seung’s survival strategy—he simply hates being stuck.”

Lee Joo Ahn added, “I think pretending not to know only prolongs the pain. He may seem a little oblivious, but I think that makes him even cooler.” His comments raise curiosity about what kind of ripple effects Han Tae Seung’s bold, straightforward approach to love will create.

Meanwhile, Park Soo Ah’s honesty is different from Han Tae Seung’s relentless pursuit. Although she is honest about her own feelings, she also refuses to disregard the other person’s emotions. Jo Aram said, “If I were in that situation, I think I would have an honest conversation with my partner and make the choice that works best for both of us.”

She candidly added, “I think I’m similar to Soo Ah in the way she gives her all to the people she cares about and honestly expresses her feelings, as well as in the way she tries to see the good in someone more than their flaws.” How will Park Soo Ah’s honesty, which leads her to openly acknowledge where her heart lies, affect her relationship with Namgoong Ho?

Seo Kang Jun, Ahn Eun Jin, Lee Joo Ahn, And Jo Aram Dish On Their Characters’ Approach To Love In “A Love Other Than Yours”插图3

Faced with the same emotional turmoil, the four characters all have different approaches: Namgoong Ho chooses to confront things until the very end, Lee Mi Do struggles to let go of the weight of 10 years of love, Han Tae Seung acts fearlessly on the feelings he wants to pursue, and Park Soo Ah seeks answers through honest communication.

The production team commented, “Just as there is no right answer when it comes to love, it will be even more enjoyable to watch the four characters make their own choices between familiar love and unfamiliar emotions while considering, ‘What would I do in this situation?’”

“A Love Other Than Yours” will premiere on September 12 at 9:20 p.m. KST.

Lee Joo Ahn And Jo Aram Dish On Shaking Up Ahn Eun Jin And Seo Kang Jun’s Longtime Romance In “A Love Other Than Yours”

Lee Joo Ahn and Jo Aram have shared their thoughts on their characters in the upcoming drama “A Love Other Than Yours”!

“A Love Other Than Yours” is a realistic romance drama that follows Lee Mi Do (Ahn Eun Jin) and Namgoong Ho (Seo Kang Jun), a couple in their 10th year of dating as they experience unexpected emotional changes in a relationship that once felt familiar.

Lee Joo Ahn plays Han Tae Seung, a lawyer who sees through Lee Mi Do with remarkable precision, while Jo Aram takes on the role of Park Soo Ah, a younger colleague who openly pursues Namgoong Ho. The two characters enter the everyday lives of longtime couple Lee Mi Do and Namgoong Ho, respectively, setting off shifts in their emotions.

Lee Joo Ahn, who had been eager to take on a professional role, was immediately drawn to Han Tae Seung. He shared, “Despite my concerns, I ended up reading the entire script in one sitting. I kept going back and forth between wondering, ‘The character of Han Tae Seung is so appealing—can I bring that out?’ and feeling excited about the role.”

Han Tae Seung is a cool-headed and forthright man who nevertheless harbors a deep desire to be loved. The person who shakes up his carefully guarded world is Lee Mi Do. Lee Joo Ahn described Lee Mi Do as “a great flood that broke through the walls around Han Tae Seung’s heart,” explaining, “Lee Mi Do is someone who can’t seem to get anything to go her way, and that sparks Han Tae Seung’s curiosity and interest despite his lifelong belief that he is always right.” Regarding his chemistry with Ahn Eun Jin, he said, “At one point, her lines stopped sounding like scripted dialogue and felt like genuine words coming from Ahn Eun Jin. I decided to simply trust her and let myself act comfortably.”

Meanwhile, Jo Aram plays Park Soo Ah, whose biggest appeal is her honesty. Jo Aram introduced her character by saying, “She has very strong convictions, and once she decides she wants to do something, she doesn’t give up easily and sees it through to the end. Her greatest charm is that she doesn’t hide her feelings or thoughts and expresses them honestly.”

Park Soo Ah helps Namgoong Ho, who has been so busy taking care of those around him that he has neglected himself, discover a new sense of his own worth. Jo Aram teased the pair’s warm relationship, saying, “The biggest change Soo Ah brings about in Namgoong Ho is that he begins to see himself a little differently.” On working with Seo Kang Jun, she shared, “I learned so much from him on set and relied on him a lot.”

Lee Jun Hyuk, Seo Hyun Woo, And Oh Dae Hwan Dish On What Drew Them To “The Ordinary Jackpot”

Lee Jun Hyuk, Seo Hyun Woo, and Oh Dae Hwan have shared insights into their upcoming drama “The Ordinary Jackpot”!

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “The Ordinary Jackpot” follows Gong Eun Tae (Lee Jun Hyuk), an ordinary sales employee who wins the lottery jackpot. Though the prize—1.3 billion won (approximately $946,000)—isn’t quite enough to dramatically transform his life overnight, the experience ultimately inspires him to change himself instead. Rather than quit, he returns to work the very next day with a completely different outlook on life.

The newly released poster features Gong Eun Tae, Yang Joon Ho (Seo Hyun Woo), and Jung Sun Hyuk (Oh Dae Hwan), three men working at Hongseong International whose lives are about to be shaken up. Gong Eun Tae, who is used to simply enduring whatever comes his way, wears a determined expression alongside the tagline, “Shall we turn the company upside down?” hinting at the changes he is about to bring to Hongseong International.

While Yang Joon Ho’s expression reflects his earnest desire to simply do his job, accompanied by the tagline, “Please let me just do my job,” Jung Sun Hyuk reveals his ambition with the line, “What’s stopping me?” As the three men navigate their respective places in the workplace, curiosity is mounting over how Gong Eun Tae’s lottery win and subsequent transformation will affect them all.

Lee Jun Hyuk plays Gong Eun Tae, the head of Sales Team 5. Despite excelling at his job and rising through the ranks quickly, he has become worn down by work and people, settling into a monotonous routine. An unexpected lottery win changes the way he sees his life.

Lee Jun Hyuk shared, “As I read the script, I thought a lot about my friends who work office jobs. It’s a ‘universal’ story, but I felt it was an office drama that’s surprisingly rare. I was drawn to the fact that it’s a story anyone could have imagined at least once and that anyone can relate to.”

Seo Hyun Woo plays Yang Joon Ho, the “forever senior assistant manager” in Sales Team 5 who frequently clashes with Gong Eun Tae, who is one year his junior but has already become a team leader. Despite being friendly and considerate toward those around him and handling his work efficiently, Yang Joon Ho has never had much luck when it comes to promotions. An incident involving Gong Eun Tae becomes a turning point in his life.

Seo Hyun Woo commented, “The drama cleverly draws viewers in by reflecting the diverse lives and attitudes of its characters. I enjoyed watching Yang Joon Ho’s growth and the ensemble of characters around him.” He added, “It’s a sharp portrayal of how a dull office life begins to change and how the ripple effects spread like a web, all sparked by the small stone Gong Eun Tae throws into the pond.”

Lee Jun Hyuk, Seo Hyun Woo, And Oh Dae Hwan Dish On What Drew Them To “The Ordinary Jackpot”插图2

Oh Dae Hwan takes on the role of Jung Sun Hyuk, the head of Sales Team 4 who has devoted more than 10 years to the company and lived more fiercely than anyone. Having come to terms with the reality that he has fallen further away from promotion, Jung Sun Hyuk is spurred into action by the transformation of Gong Eun Tae, his colleague and fellow confidant who has shared his workplace struggles.

Oh Dae Hwan said, “I found it interesting that the premise of winning the lottery jackpot—which everyone has probably imagined at least once—is told through a realistic story about office workers.” He continued, “What I found most appealing was watching the characters gradually change. Jung Sun Hyuk may initially seem like a simple character, but as the story progresses, he reveals many different sides, which drew me to the role.”

Hyun Bin, Jung Sung Il, And Roh Jae Won Dish On Their Characters’ Shifting Power Dynamics In “Made In Korea 2”

“Made in Korea 2” has shared a glimpse of how the relationships between Hyun Bin, Jung Sung Il, and Roh Jae Won have changed over the course of nine years!

The first season of “Made in Korea” followed Baek Ki Tae (Hyun Bin), a man driven by ambition for wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young (Jung Woo Sung), who sacrificed everything to stop him, as they confronted a monumental event in the turbulent 1970s.

“Made in Korea 2,” set nine years after the Season 1 finale, follows Baek Ki Tae, now at the peak of power; Jang Geon Young, who has been preparing a counterattack; and Baek Ki Hyun (Woo Do Hwan), who is pursuing a different path to power from his older brother. Their ambitions spiral out of control, shaking things up and creating an irreversible rift.

With the characters having undergone major changes over the past nine years and their interests now increasingly at odds, “Made in Korea 2” has unveiled new stills hinting at the intense power struggle among three key figures within the Korean Central Intelligence Agency: Baek Ki Tae, Cheon Seok Jung (Jung Sung Il), and Pyo Hak Soo (Roh Jae Won).

In the newly released still, Baek Ki Tae and Cheon Seok Jung stare straight ahead with contrasting expressions. Continuing from Season 1, Cheon Seok Jung remains the powerful Blue House chief of staff, wielding near-absolute power while still occupying the No. 2 position. However, the arrival of Hwang Dae Shik (Heo Jung Do), who threatens even his No. 2 position, puts him on edge and prompts him to reach out to Baek Ki Tae, who has long remained by his side.

Regarding this, Hyun Bin shared, “In Season 1, Baek Ki Tae was the one looking toward Cheon Seok Jung, but in Season 2, I felt that Cheon Seok Jung also comes to rely on Baek Ki Tae.”

Jung Sung Il, however, offered a different perspective, saying, “It doesn’t matter to Cheon Seok Jung who sits in that position. Baek Ki Tae has simply taken the seat that Hwang Guk Pyeong once occupied.” He added, “Baek Ki Tae is a card he can discard at any time if the situation becomes unfavorable,” raising anticipation for the increasingly intense psychological battle between the two men.

Pyo Hak Soo has also undergone perhaps the most drastic transformation over the past nine years, immediately catching the eye with his completely changed appearance, including a wig and glasses. After being locked in a tense rivalry with Baek Ki Tae in Season 1, Pyo Hak Soo now finds himself serving under Baek Ki Tae, who has been promoted to acting director of the KCIA, placing him in a completely different power dynamic.

Roh Jae Won explained, “They were rivals in Season 1, but in Season 2, Baek Ki Tae is his superior. The subtle discomfort that comes from that, along with the precarious situations where he crosses that boundary, is the biggest difference.”

He also shared that, to capture Pyo Hak Soo’s sharp survival instincts, he repeatedly reminded himself, “I have to survive this game somehow. I’m smarter than you, and my choice is the right one.”

Director Woo Min Ho likewise described Pyo Hak Soo as someone who “plays a much more pivotal role in Season 2 than in Season 1,” adding that he is “like a trickster ball that could bounce in any direction,” further raising curiosity about what he will do next.

Lee Jung Eun, Kong Hyo Jin, Park So Dam, And Lee Yeon Dish On Their Upcoming Film “The Journey To Gyeongju”

The main cast of the upcoming film “The Journey to Gyeongju” recently took part in a photo shoot with ELLE Korea!

“The Journey to Gyeongju” is a family revenge film about a mother and three daughters who embark on a “killer” journey after waiting eight years, all for their youngest daughter Gyeong Ju who never returned from a school field trip.

Lee Jung Eun plays mother Ok Sil, Kong Hyo Jin plays eldest daughter Jang Ju, Park So Dam plays second daughter Young Ju, while Lee Yeon plays third daughter Dong Ju.

In the interview that followed the photo shoot, Lee Jung Eun explained the origins of the film, saying, “Director Kim Mi Jo said she came up with this story after looking at a family photo and asking herself, ‘What would a mother do if the family that was once whole fell apart?’”

Regarding her character, Lee Jung Eun remarked, “Ok Sil is someone who cannot stand injustice. She has a fiery feeling inside her that asks, ‘Can I really just stand by and watch this happen?’”

She added, “I think the director wanted at least one person to be someone who never forgets until the very end. That person is the mother.” She also said, “While filming this film, I often thought about how we need to protect and respect the person who remembers as well as the time they spend mourning.”

Kong Hyo Jin recalled her reaction when she first read the script, saying, “I thought it was a piece of writing that had nothing left to cut and nothing that needed to be added. It was so good that I kept wondering what would happen next.”

Describing the four women in the family as a “motley crew,” she said, “Going through the same loss does not mean everyone will arrive at the same thoughts or conclusions. There is the daughter who cannot stop her mother from pushing ahead with the trip, the daughter who encourages her mother, the daughter who takes her mother’s side, and the daughter who tries to face reality. Their different feelings are at the heart of this film.”

Park So Dam spoke about the emotion that runs throughout the film, saying, “This is not a film that says revenge is right. What matters is how this family continues to live while carrying their wounds. I hope audiences will focus a little more on the feelings of love and loss that lie beneath the story rather than on revenge.”

Lee Yeon also remarked, “It was only after we finished filming that I was finally able to process this project in my heart. ‘The Journey to Gyeongju’ is a film that helped me understand the feelings of those who are left behind rather than focusing on revenge.”

Even off camera, the relationship among the four actresses continued like that of a real family. During filming, they spent their time seeking out restaurants in Gyeongju, going for walks, and playing games together. Even now, two years after filming wrapped, they still maintain an active group chat.

When asked about their chemistry, Kong Hyo Jin expressed confidence in the bond among the four, saying, “We could live together even if you told us to without any hesitation.” Lee Jung Eun gave their chemistry “a perfect score” without hesitation. Park So Dam and Lee Yeon also said, “We became close enough to keep meeting and staying in touch even after the project ended.”
