Hani Dishes On Her Resilient Character And Her Charms In “Love On The Menu”

Hani has shared more insights into her upcoming drama “Love on the Menu”!

“Love on the Menu” is a family romance drama that follows Kim Moo Jin (Ha Seok Jin) and Han Gyu Rim (Hani), two former lovers who reunite eight years after a painful breakup. As they reconnect, they piece together the fragments of their broken families and create the warmest table of life together.

Making her weekend drama debut as Han Gyu Rim, Hani shared, “Since weekend dramas are something the whole family watches together, I was excited, but I also felt a lot of pressure and a strong sense of responsibility.”

Explaining why she chose the role, she said, “Han Gyu Rim hasn’t had an easy life, but she doesn’t let that turn her into someone who hates the world. She’s been hurt, endured so much, and carried far more responsibility than anyone should have to, yet she continues to move forward, protects the people she loves, and finds a way to smile again. That part of her stayed with me for a long time.”

Hani also spoke about how she prepared for the character, saying, “Han Gyu Rim didn’t suddenly become a strong person overnight. She became that way because she had to take care of her family from a very young age. As I prepared for the role, I wanted there to be both the face of a mother and the face of a daughter who still needs her own mother.” She continued, “Because life felt so overwhelming to her, I think the more she loved Moo Jin, the more afraid she became.”

Describing Han Gyu Rim with the keywords “resilience,” “love,” and “strength,” Hani explained, “There must have been countless moments when she wanted to give up, but she persevered day after day to protect her family. She lies at times and even runs away, but deep down, everything she does comes from love. It broke my heart because those choices were her way of protecting the people she cared about. Even so, she’s someone who can still smile and show kindness, and I found that strength truly admirable.”

Returning to acting for the first time in three years, Hani remarked, “‘Love on the Menu’ is a story about people who choose to keep loving and living their lives, even if they aren’t perfect and have been hurt many times. I hope it becomes a warm drama that families can enjoy watching together. Please give it lots of love and support.”

Kong Hyo JIn has shared her thoughts on her upcoming drama “A Bona Fide Killer”!

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “A Bona Fide Killer” is an action drama about a working mother with a lethal job who is fighting to protect her work-life balance. In what marks her first MBC drama in 15 years, Kong Hyo Jin stars as Yu Bo Na, the seemingly ordinary manager of Sales Team 3 at Durumi Electronics, who is also secretly the legendary sniper known as “Kingfisher.”

On the surface, Yu Bo Na is an ordinary married woman who takes care of her husband and daughter, but unbeknownst to others, she leads a double life as a cold-blooded killer who eliminates heinous criminals that have escaped justice. After returning to work following a three-year maternal leave, she resumes her dangerous double life.

Explaining why she chose to star in the drama, Kong Hyo Jin recalled, “I read the original webtoon first, and I found it intriguing. What I found most appealing was that even though it’s a ‘dark hero’ story, the focus is on her ordinary everyday life as a married woman, rather than her cases.”

Kong Hyo Jin went on to share that while preparing for the role, she focused on emphasizing the contrasting sides of Yu Bo Na. “As a married woman, Yu Bo Na is always friendly and never stops smiling,” said the actress. “But for killer Yu Bo Na, unlike the other characters I’ve played up until now, I prepared to play her as stoic and unflappable in any situation.”

When asked if there were any similarities between the character and her real-life personality, Kong Hyo Jin chose “flexibility.” She explained, “Yu Bo Na is a character who is able to handle any situation with flexibility, which is somewhat similar to the flexibility that I have built over the years while working as an actress.”

As for what she considers the most appealing aspect of the drama, Kong Hyo Jin chose “Yu Bo Na-style punishment.” “Yu Bo Na prioritizes the victims of crime over her own safety, and she delivers justice through actions instead of words,” said the actress. “When you hear about unbelievably shocking crimes on the news, doesn’t everyone think at some point that they’d like to personally step up and take action? I hope that through this drama, viewers will be able to enjoy that kind of vicarious thrill.”

Ha Seok Jin has shared insights into his upcoming drama “Love on the Menu”!

Ha Seok Jin plays Kim Moo Jin, the perfectionist and prickly owner and head chef of an Italian restaurant. Though he appears to have it all, he was hopelessly devoted to his first love Han Gyu Rim and remained deeply in love with her. After she suddenly ended their relationship, he left for Italy, where he became a successful chef. Eight years later, he reunites with his first love, setting his life on an unexpected new course.

Ahead of the drama’s premiere, Ha Seok Jin shared why he chose the project, saying, “It’s been a long time since I came across a weekend drama with the kind of heartwarming story that appeals to viewers of all generations. What drew me in was that it goes beyond a simple romance between a man and a woman to explore family, relationships, the choices we make, and the feelings that never truly fade.”

Describing his character, Ha Seok Jin said Kim Moo Jin has the charm of someone who is “tough on the outside but soft on the inside.” “He seems composed, but he’s surprisingly inexperienced when it comes to certain emotions. He appears perfect, but in reality, he’s far from it—that gap is what makes Moo Jin so appealing,” he explained.

He went on to describe Han Gyu Rim’s place in Moo Jin’s heart, saying, “To Moo Jin, Han Gyu Rim isn’t simply a first love he misses. She’s someone he has never truly been able to move on from, no matter how much time has passed.”

When asked how similar he is to his character, Ha Seok Jin smiled and estimated their resemblance at “about 60 percent.” “We’re alike in that we’re both rational and logical at work, and we both naturally bicker with close friends. But Moo Jin is much more honest and straightforward about his emotions than I am,” he said.

Ha Seok Jin also shared a behind-the-scenes story about working with his co-star Hani. He said, “Before our first day of filming, we went for a walk together on a mountain trail, and that really helped us get past any awkwardness. Since we’re portraying two people who reunite after eight years apart, we’re working hard to find the right emotional rhythm for our characters.”

He also hinted at the fun friendship viewers can expect with Min Jin Woong, who plays Kim Moo Jin’s best friend of 20 years, Park Jung Woo. He shared, “Since we’re friends in real life, the rhythm of our conversations comes naturally, and we’ve been having a lot of fun filming together.”

Concluding the interview, Ha Seok Jin shared, “Because this is a long-form drama, I want to gradually build Kim Moo Jin’s character and let viewers get to know him over time.” He added, “’Love on the Menu’ is a drama about long-forgotten feelings beginning to stir once again. Kim Myung Soo has shared more insights into his character Cha Eun Hwan in the upcoming drama “Love in Sync.”

“Love in Sync” is a romantic comedy that follows a woman who refuses empathy and a man who carries too much of it. When they begin to share one another’s emotions through a surreal phenomenon, the two gradually come to understand one another and grow together.

Kim Myung Soo plays Cha Eun Hwan, a man whose exceptional ability to empathize leads him to carry the emotional burdens of others. A professional counselor, Cha Eun Hwan earns the trust of his clients through both his expertise and easygoing charm. However, despite helping others navigate their feelings, he struggles to look inward and confront his own emotions.

One day, after experiencing an “emotional transfer” with Yoo Ji An (Kang Min Ah), he is forced to face the wounds he has long kept buried.

When asked to describe Cha Eun Hwan, Kim Myung Soo chose the three keywords “flawless,” “empathy,” and “cool.” He explained, “Cha Eun Hwan is a professionally flawless character, and because he works as a counselor, he has a strong ability to empathize with others. On a personal note, I think he’s cool because there are many moments where he helps Yoo Ji An.”

Speaking about what drew him to the role, Kim Myung Soo shared, “Most of the roles I’ve played in the past have been relatively heavy, so I really wanted the opportunity to show a romantic comedy this time. I found the idea of sharing and transferring other people’s emotions very interesting, and I was also drawn to the relationship between Cha Eun Hwan and Yoo Ji An.”

The actor also revealed the effort he put into portraying the character. “There are aspects of Cha Eun Hwan that are similar to me, but there are also differences, so I read the script many times,” he said, explaining how he worked to portray a character who empathizes with others’ pain while carrying hidden scars of his own.

To bring the drama’s emotional details to life, Kim Myung Soo spent a great deal of time discussing scenes with his co-stars. He expressed his appreciation for the cast, saying, “Kang Min Ah and Kwon So Hyun were so deeply immersed in their emotions that I felt it elevated the quality of every scene.” He also shared that the filming atmosphere was warm and cheerful, adding, “There was never a shortage of laughter on set.”

“Jae Seok’s B&B Rules!” is gearing up to welcome guests!

“Jae Seok’s B&B Rules!” follows Yu Jae Seok as he takes on the challenge of running a bed-and-breakfast for the very first time. Joined by Lee Kwang Soo, Byeon Woo Seok, and Ji Ye Eun as staff members, they welcome guests and create memorable moments filled with laughter, chaos, and heartfelt warmth.

Ahead of the premiere of “Jae Seok’s B&B Rules!” the four hosts gather together to taste test the B&B’s potential menu options.

First, Byeon Woo Seok offers his rolled omelette. The others jokingly start off by saying, “Don’t get offended,” as they prepare to give their honest food critiques. They conclude, “It’s just a plain rolled omelet,” taking a neutral stance.

Ji Ye Eun offers spicy stir-fried pork, which she proudly presents. Yu Jae Seok critiques honestly, “Don’t take this the wrong way. If a restaurant served me this, I wouldn’t go there again,” adding, “It’s good, but I wouldn’t want to come back for more.” Lee Kwang Soo jokingly only offers it a one and a half star review.

Although the cast playfully repeats, “Don’t be offended,” before tasting Lee Kwang Soo’s kimchi stew, the others only have positive compliments for his cooking.

Last but not least, the staff members taste Yu Jae Seok’s breakfast sandwich, which leaves the members in shock at how untasty it is. Lee Kwang Soo comments, “If I were to rank it, this would be in fourth place.” Laughing, Yu Jae Seok can’t help but agree after tasting his sandwich. As critiques continue to rain down, Yu Jae Seok hilariously cuts them off by suddenly reminding Byeon Woo Seok that it’s time for him to leave.

Park Eun Bin Dishes On Her New Drama “The WONDERfools”

Park Eun Bin recently sat down with Cosmopolitan Korea magazine to discuss her new Netflix series “The WONDERfools.”

“The WONDERfools” is a superhero action comedy set in 1999, a time when apocalyptic beliefs were rampant. It follows a group of neighborhood misfits who unexpectedly gain superpowers and fight against villains threatening the peace of Haeseong City.

In the interview following the shoot, Park Eun Bin shared, “Since I’m someone who is mainly seen through video, I often feel awkward seeing myself in photos. At times like that, I find it easier to approach the shoot by channeling a character. Today, I brought out Chae Ni’s quirky side for the shoot.”

Speaking about Eun Chae Ni, her character in “The WONDERfools,” Park Eun Bin remarked, “In a nutshell, you could describe Chae Ni as a kid who can’t travel because of a heart condition, but I ultimately thought that these characters possess qualities that can represent many different people.”

Revealing her affection for the drama, she continued, “I loved the message that these characters aren’t nobodies—they simply haven’t accomplished anything yet, but they are still people living meaningful lives in their own ways. Even if not many people recognize that they saved the world, the fact that they accomplished it themselves, and that they acknowledge one another for it, was a great comfort to me.”

Actress Park Eun Bin, who has courageously challenged herself with a wide variety of roles, commented, “When I was younger, change felt unstable to me, but now I think you can only move forward if you change. I believe that as we change, our gears gradually align with one another. Playing a variety of characters has now become something enjoyable because I discover sides of myself I never knew existed. Thankfully, the projects I personally felt drawn to up until now have also been loved by viewers and fans. I’m grateful that the path I believed was right turned out to be one that others recognized as well.”

When asked what “The WONDERfools” and Eun Chae Ni mean to her, she replied, “I think people who loved Song Ji Won from the drama ‘Age of Youth‘ will also love this character. Of course, the story and genre are different, but there are similarities between the two. I hope Chae Ni can fill the longing people may still have for Ji Won.”

In the interview following his photo shoot, the rising actor shared candid thoughts about his career and acting roles. When asked what kinds of roles he is drawn to, he said, “They fall into two categories. There are projects I want to do because I can deeply relate to them or think they’d be fun, and there are projects I’m not entirely sure about but want to challenge myself with in order to discover a new side of me. In between taking on roles I can relate to, I also occasionally challenge myself with historical dramas or villain roles, which I think has made my filmography a bit diverse.”

When asked if there was a project that had made him nervous, he replied, “’Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’ was one where I clenched my teeth and told myself to just go for it. I was very happy and grateful, but honestly, the thought at the forefront of my mind was ‘Will I really be able to pull this off?’ The keyword ‘tyrant’ worried me. I’m not someone who usually expresses anger openly or raises my voice, so I wasn’t sure if I could handle the role of a high-intensity tyrant. In the beginning, I approached the acting almost like a task I had to carry out, but with the help of those around me and the director, I was able to see it through to the end.”

On how his strong competitive spirit has influenced him, Lee Chae Min remarked, “It has never allowed me to become complacent. There are so many people around me who can influence me. Actress Oh Yoon Ah has shared her thoughts on her upcoming comedy film “Mismatch”!

“Mismatch” tells the story of Bong Soo (Oh Dae Hwan), a man whose relationships with his family and those around him are thrown into chaos after a sudden accident causes his memory to malfunction. The wife who once ruled over him as both the head of the household and a company CEO suddenly becomes his daughter. His nagging father turns into his rebellious younger brother, his lifelong best friend becomes a flirtatious wife, and his only sibling transforms into a boss he must respectfully serve at work.

Oh Yoon Ah plays Bong Soo’s wife, Ban Sung Hye. While she was originally his wife, she ends up in a completely different position—as his daughter—due to a malfunction in his memory. This film marks Oh Yoon Ah’s return to the big screen for the first time in five years following the 2021 film “The Cursed: Dead Man’s Prey.” She shared her thoughts on her comeback, saying, “Since it’s been a while since I starred in a film, I felt both excitement and pressure at the same time,” adding, “Even so, what mattered most was my desire to act again, which is why I chose this project.”

She continued, “I was really looking forward to meeting viewers again, and because of that, I tried to act with even more sincerity.”

She also revealed that she gave a lot of thought to her character, Ban Sung Hye. She shared, “The concept of going from a wife to a daughter felt unfamiliar and wasn’t easy. I thought a lot about how convincingly this relationship could be conveyed to viewers.”

She added, “Rather than relying solely on the premise, I tried to bring out realistic elements so that it could be understood emotionally.”

She emphasized that her chemistry with co-star Oh Dae Hwan was a great help. She remarked, “Actor Oh Dae Hwan is very good at reacting, which allowed me to naturally convey my emotions,” adding, “Because we had such great chemistry on set, we were able to portray the changes in the relationship smoothly.”

“Mismatch” will hit theaters nationwide on April 23.
