All of the top five spots on this week’s physical album chart went to new releases, led by Yeonjun’s “NO LABELS: PART 02” at No. 1.

i-dle claimed two of the top five spots on this week’s chart with their new mini album “We made”: the regular version of the album debuted at No. 2, while the POCA version charted separately at No. 5.

Watch: Kong Hyo Jin Leads A Double Life As A Sniper And Working Mom In “A Bona Fide Killer” Teaser

MBC’s upcoming drama “A Bona Fide Killer” has unveiled a new teaser!

“A Bona Fide Killer” is an action drama about a working mother with a lethal job who is fighting to protect her work-life balance. In what marks her first MBC drama in 15 years, Kong Hyo Jin stars as Yu Bo Na, the seemingly ordinary manager of Sales Team 3 at Durumi Electronics, who is secretly the legendary sniper known as “Kingfisher.”

On the surface, Yu Bo Na appears to be an ordinary office workers, but unbeknownst to others, she is actually Kingfisher, a famous “one-shot, one-kill” assassin who eliminates heinous criminals that have escaped justice. After returning to work following a three-year maternal leave, she resumes her dangerous double life.

The teaser opens with a striking scene of Yu Bo Na pulling the trigger of a sniper rifle from the rooftop of a building. A bullet speeding through a narrow gap immediately captures viewers’ attention.

However, the mood quickly shifts when she appears before her mother-in-law, Ok Sun Ja (Cha Mi Kyung), holding a kitchen knife and says, “I’m not really used to using this for this kind of purpose,” revealing an unexpected side of herself.

In one scene, her mother-in-law, seemingly offended that her son, Kwon Tae Sung (Jung Jun Won), took Yu Bo Na’s side, throws an apple at him as he and Bo Na try to leave the house, only for Bo Na to swiftly turn around and catch it with one hand, shocking her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The teaser also gives a glimpse of Bo Na at her office job at Durumi Electronics as well as her spending time with her husband and daughter.

The teaser concludes with Yu Bo Na, who now has a family to protect, lifting her sniper rifle as she declares, “The client meeting is now in session,” heightening anticipation for the drama.

“A Bona Fide Killer” is an action drama about a working mother with a lethal job who is fighting to protect her work-life balance. Kong Hyo Jin stars as Yu Bo Na, the seemingly ordinary manager of Sales Team 3 at Durumi Electronics, who is also secretly the legendary sniper known as “Kingfisher.”

Newly released stills offer a glimpse of the members of Durumi Electronics’ Sales Team 3, who conceal their true identities while living seemingly ordinary lives. Though they appear to be regular office workers, they are actually an elite covert unit specializing in eliminating criminals through methods such as sniper attacks, staged accidents, and poisonings. They secretly take down ruthless criminals who have escaped justice, delivering long-awaited retribution on behalf of their victims.

Unlike the other departments at Durumi Electronics, which are staffed by ordinary employees, Sales Team 3 operates as a secret organization. The team refers to its targets as “clients” and its missions as “meetings,” carefully hiding their covert operations.

Led by Kim Bong Pal (Sung Dong Il), the team consists of Ki Young Do (Moo Jin Sung) and Bong Tae Min (Kim Nam Hee), who handle field operations and tactical support. They are joined by Oh Hyun Nam (Ha Yul Ri), Go Young Gap (Heo Jae Ho), and Yang Ye Sol (Kim Ga Hee), forming a highly efficient and seamless organization.

As the ace of Sales Team 3, Yu Bo Na boasts unmatched sniping skills and has the highest success rate on the team. Every time she carries out a mission, rumors spread about the mysterious assassin known only as “Kingfisher.” Returning to the team after a three-year maternity leave, Yu Bo Na chooses to once again do what she does best as she fights to protect both her family and the world.

Team leader Kim Bong Pal (Sung Dong Il) is an expert at disguising murders as accidental deaths. Although highly skilled, he also possesses a deeply human side, often delivering bittersweet reflections after each mission.

Ki Young Do (Moo Jin Sung), a genius hacker nicknamed “Crazy Fingers,” serves as the team’s technical mastermind, providing crucial support for Yu Bo Na’s missions. Though somewhat prickly in personality, he consistently demonstrates sharp judgment and unwavering dedication to the team.

Bong Tae Min (Kim Nam Hee) is the team’s weapons designer and engineer. Spending most of his time developing specialized equipment in his private workshop, he is nicknamed “Rotten Mold.”

Rookie employee Oh Hyun Nam (Ha Yul Ri) specializes in poisonings and livens up the team with her bold personality and blunt way of speaking. Bong Tae Min and Oh Hyun Nam are expected to showcase unexpected chemistry as their contrasting personalities frequently clash.

Rounding out the team are Go Young Gap (Heo Jae Ho), a former doctor who now devotes himself to eliminating criminals, and administrative officer Yang Ye Sol (Kim Ga Hee), who specializes in forging documents.

“Reborn Rookie” Ratings Break Into Double Digits For New All-Time High

Viewership ratings for JTBC’s “Reborn Rookie” have broken into the double digits!

On June 21, the popular drama achieved the highest viewership ratings of its run to date. According to Nielsen Korea, “Reborn Rookie” soared to an average nationwide rating of 11.0 percent, marking a jump of over 2 full percentage points from its previous episode the night before.

Not only was “Reborn Rookie” the most-watched show of any kind to air on cable on Sunday, but it was also the most-watched cable program of the entire week.

Meanwhile, KBS 2TV’s “Recipe for Love” remained the most-watched show of Sunday overall with an average nationwide rating of 15.9 percent.

Kim Dae Myeung Is A Respected Academy Director With A Sinister Double Life In “The Husband”

Upcoming drama “The Husband” has unveiled new stills of Kim Dae Myeung in his role as a chilling villain!

“The Husband” is a romance thriller that follows Kang Tae Joo (Namkoong Min), a man who becomes entangled in a desperate fight against a ruthless criminal in order to rescue his wife, who is kidnapped just before their divorce.

Kim Dae Myeung stars as Noh Man Hee, the villain responsible for kidnapping Kang Tae Joo’s wife Go Se Yoon (Lee Seol). On the surface, Noh Man Hee is the kind and well-mannered director of a computer academy who is beloved by both children and elderly residents in the neighborhood. However, he harbors a cruel secret that no one could have anticipated.

Explaining why he chose the project, Kim Dae Myeung shared, “When I first received the script, I was so engrossed that I read it in one sitting. The story had a powerful sense of immersion, and it kept making me curious about what would happen next.”

He continued, “I wanted to play a character with multiple layers and different sides coexisting within one person, and Noh Man Hee was exactly that kind of character. I felt he was someone who couldn’t be easily defined by a single face. Throughout filming, I hoped viewers would also find themselves wondering, ‘Who is this person really?’”

For that reason, Kim Dae Myeung did not approach Noh Man Hee as a straightforward villain. “I thought he could easily come across as a very one-dimensional character,” he explained. “So I constantly tried to understand why Noh Man Hee made these choices and what emotions ultimately led him to his current actions.”

The actor also paid close attention to the character’s appearance. “I wanted him to look like a very neat and ordinary person you might encounter in everyday life, so I often wore shirts and buttoned them all the way up to the collar,” he said. “As the story unfolds over a short period of time and Man Hee gradually changes, I wanted to make that transformation more visible through subtle changes in his appearance as well.”

“The Husband” premieres on July 4 at 9:20 p.m. KST.

TWICE Earns New RIAJ Triple And Double Platinum Certifications For Streaming In Japan

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) awarded TWICE two new official certifications for streaming this month!

In 2020, the RIAJ implemented a new certification system for online streaming of songs, as an addition to its pre-existing certification systems for physical album shipments and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver once they reach 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams.

This month, TWICE earned two separate certifications for streaming with two iconic Korean hits from 2019: “Feel Special” was certified triple platinum for surpassing 300 million streams in Japan, while “FANCY” was certified double platinum after hitting 200 million streams.

“My Royal Nemesis” Ratings Soar Into Double Digits + “Filing For Love” Hits New Saturday High

Viewership ratings for SBS’s “My Royal Nemesis” have broken into the double digits!

On May 23, the hit romantic comedy wrapped up the first half of its run on its highest viewership ratings to date. According to Nielsen Korea, the sixth episode of “My Royal Nemesis” soared to an average nationwide rating of 10.3 percent, marking a new all-time high for the show.

MBC’s new drama “Fifties Professionals,” which airs in the same time slot, earned an average nationwide rating of 3.6 percent for its second episode.

Meanwhile, tvN’s “Filing for Love” achieved its highest viewership ratings yet for a Saturday, when its ratings have generally been lower compared to Sundays. The latest episode of the drama took first place in its time slot across all channels, even including public broadcast networks, with an average nationwide rating of 5.9 percent.

JTBC’s “We Are All Trying Here,” which has just one episode left to go, dipped slightly to an average nationwide rating of 4.1 percent ahead of its series finale.

Finally, KBS 2TV’s “Recipe for Love” scored an average nationwide rating of 12.3 percent, making it the most-watched program of any kind to air on Saturday.
