On July 19 local time, BTS co-headlined the first-ever World Cup halftime show alongside Shakira, Justin Bieber, and Madonna at MetLife Stadium.

Not long after Madonna opened the show at the final match of this year’s World Cup, BTS took the stage to perform their 2020 smash hit “Dynamite.”

At the World Cup final on July 19 (local time), before kickoff, Jung Ho Yeon entered the field for the Trophy Trunk ceremony alongside world-renowned Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, signaling the start of the final match by presenting the Louis Vuitton trophy case containing the World Cup winner’s trophy.

Jung Ho Yeon participated in the event in her capacity as a global ambassador for Louis Vuitton. This marks the first time a Korean actor has participated in an official event at a World Cup final. While it had been announced early on that the global K-pop group BTS would perform during the halftime show, Jung Ho Yeon’s attendance had not been foreshadowed, drawing attention.

TWS To Release New Single For FIFA World Cup 2026 As Team Korea’s Official Cheer Song

TWS is singing Team Korea’s official cheer song for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026!

On June 5, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that TWS would be releasing their new digital single “Dream With Us” next week.

“Dream With Us,” the official cheer song of the Republic of Korea’s national soccer team, will be released online on June 11 at 6 p.m. KST. The song is described as depicting “the story of youth running toward a shared dream” with the “hopeful message that ‘when we believe in miracles together, miracles begin.’”

TWS, who was appointed official ambassadors for the Korea Football Association last fall, unveiled “Dream With Us” for the first time at the friendly match between South Korea and El Salvador on June 4.

The members of TWS commented, “We are truly delighted to be able to support the Republic of Korea’s national soccer team with our song.” They added, “In light of how hard the players worked to prepare for this World Cup, we, TWS, will also be rooting for them with all our hearts so that they can deliver impressive performances during their matches.”

BLACKPINK’s Lisa To Headline FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony

BLACKPINK’s Lisa will be headlining the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Los Angeles!

On May 9 local time, FIFA officially announced the headliners for the upcoming World Cup’s opening ceremonies. As this year’s World Cup will be held across three different countries, FIFA will be holding opening ceremonies in each of the three host nations: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Lisa will be taking the stage at the United States opening ceremony, joining fellow Los Angeles headliners Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, Rema, and Tyla.

“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” remarked FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment, and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”

The U.S. opening ceremony will take place on June 12 at 4:30 p.m. local time, 90 minutes before the opening match between the United States and Paraguay.
