Watch: Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se, And Heo Sung Tae Bring Intense Action To Life In “Fifties Professionals” Making-Of Video
MBC’s “Fifties Professionals” has shared a new making-of video!
“Fifties Professionals” is an action-comedy about three seemingly ordinary but secretly dangerous middle-aged men who are brought back into action by destiny. The three men, who once reigned at the top of their respective fields, find themselves exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon after a mysterious incident. There, they begin a bittersweet and comedic quest to uncover the truth about the fateful day from 10 years ago that changed their lives.
The newly released making-of clip captures the cast’s focus and teamwork on set, particularly during the drama’s action-heavy sequences.
Shin Ha Kyun is seen meticulously rehearsing his choreography during individual action shoots. Even after filming his scenes, he immediately checks on the condition of fellow actors before returning to practice his movements again.
Meanwhile, Oh Jung Se works closely with the director to fine-tune the details of his character’s movements. From timidly opening a door to awkwardly getting caught by the foot and falling, he carefully syncs each action beat to his character’s personality. In contrast to his clumsy on-screen persona, he also impresses on set by quickly mastering the stunt team’s choreography and executing the action sequences with ease during rehearsals.
Heo Sung Tae brings a lighter energy to the set, focusing on comedic ad-libs alongside co-star Lee Hak Joo.
The video also showcases the cast filming large-scale action scenes in the rain. Between takes, the three actors remain deeply focused, constantly discussing choreography, throwing themselves fully into the physical performances, and rehearsing with intensity.

Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se, And Heo Sung Tae Cross Paths During Life-Changing Mission 10 Years Ago In “Fifties Professionals”
“Fifties Professionals” has unveiled a glimpse of the incident from 10 years ago that completely changed the fates of its three main characters!
The newly released stills ahead of the premiere capture National Intelligence Service black ops agent Jung Ho Myung (Shin Ha Kyun) confronting North Korean operative Bulgae (Oh Jung Se) aboard a passenger ship during a violent rainstorm.
Notably, the stills are of Bulgae before he lost his memory. Known as North Korea’s ultimate human weapon, viewers are left wondering why he was sent on a mission disguised as a woman. The situation becomes even more unpredictable with the appearance of Kang Beom Ryong (Heo Sung Tae), the second-in-command of the Hwasan gang.
According to the production team, the scene depicts the moment 10 years ago when the three characters became entangled while attempting to secure evidence proving collusion between a high-ranking North Korean official and Han Kyung Wook (Kim Sang Kyung), the first deputy director of the National Intelligence Service. The incident ultimately changes the course of all three men’s lives forever.
“Fifties Professionals” premieres on May 22 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available to watch on Viki.

Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se, And Heo Sung Tae Are Former Legends Drawn Back Into Dangerous Mission In “Fifties Professionals”
MBC’s new drama “Fifties Professionals” has unveiled new stills ahead of its premiere today!

Oh Jung Se transforms into Bong Je Soon, also known as “Bulgae,” a North Korean operative who has lost part of his memory.
Heo Sung Tae plays Kang Beom Ryong, the second-in-command of the Hwasan gang who has been running a convenience store for the past decade.
The story centers on three men from completely different worlds—an NIS agent, a North Korean operative, and a notorious gangster—who were once considered the best in their fields before fate brings them back together. As their contrasting backgrounds collide, the drama promises both tension and laughter. After finally settling into ordinary lives beyond their glory days, the three men are unexpectedly thrust into another dangerous mission, kicking off a full-fledged fight for survival.
Notably, rather than relying on flashy superhero-style action, “Fifties Professionals” focuses on grounded hand-to-hand action and relatable everyday comedy. Though their bodies are no longer what they used to be, the characters’ desperate determination to keep going is expected to deliver both humor and heartfelt relatability.

Watch: Shin Ha Kyun Is A Top Black Agent Assigned Only To High-Risk Operations In “Fifties Professionals”
MBC’s upcoming drama “Fifties Professionals” has released a new teaser ahead of its premiere!
The teaser opens with Jo Seong Won (Kim Sang Ho), a team leader in the NIS Anti-Communist Investigation Unit, asking National Security Office Chief Kwon Soon Bok (Ahn Nae Sang) if he knows that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) has a non-official, almost “non-existent” department, hinting at a highly secretive black operations unit.
Jo Seong Won is also heard saying that the mysterious department consists of only one agent and is assigned exclusively to top-secret missions that have previously failed or been abandoned. He goes on to reveal that the agent’s codename is “Shadow.”
The teaser then introduces Jung Ho Myung (Shin Ha Kyun), the National Intelligence Service’s top black agent, who appears to be “Shadow.” In one scene, he walks into a room full of men who appear to be gang members, and a fight ensues.
The teaser ends with Chief Kwon Soon Bok telling Jo Seong Won that “Shadow” is being deployed on a mission, and that the only people who know about it are “Shadow”—Jo Seong Won—and himself.

Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se, And Heo Sung Tae Lead Both Ordinary And Dangerous Lives In “Fifties Professionals”
MBC’s upcoming drama “Fifties Professionals” has unveiled new stills of Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se, and Heo Sung Tae!
The drama tells the story of three men whose bodies have grown old and worn, but whose loyalty and instincts remain strong.
Shin Ha Kyun, who plays Jung Ho Myung in the drama, has earned a reputation for subtle emotional acting and strong immersion in his roles. With unmatched expressiveness that alternates between normalcy and madness, he leaves a lasting impression in every role.

Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se, And Heo Sung Tae Get Pulled Back Into Action In “Fifties Professionals”
MBC’s upcoming drama “Fifties Professionals” has unveiled new character posters!
The newly released posters spotlight Jung Ho Myung (Shin Ha Kyun), Bong Je Soon (Oh Jung Se), and Kang Beom Ryong (Heo Sung Tae), while a separate group poster also features Kang Young Ae (Kim Shin Rok), Chairman Do (Kwon Yul), Ma Gong Bok (Lee Hak Joo), Park Mi Kyung (Han Ji Eun), and Yoo In Goo (Hyun Bong Sik).
The character posters capture the very different starting points of the three men’s second chapter in life. Though full of determination, their aging bodies—far from their prime—amplify the drama’s signature comedic tone.
First, Ho Myung is seen wearing a wrist brace while flashing a laid-back smile. His tagline, “I’ll show you what a real professional looks like,” heightens curiosity about his hidden past and the role he will play moving forward.
Je Soon commands attention with a dynamic pose as he wraps a bandage around his knee. His line, “Fights aren’t settled with words,” teases the chaos that may unfold after he regains his lost memories.
Meanwhile, Beom Ryong sports a pain-relief patch on his lower back while confidently declaring, “My fists haven’t expired yet,” showcasing charisma that remains as fierce as ever despite the passing years.
The newly released group poster further heightens intrigue by gathering characters with different motives in one place. At the center is Jung Ho Myung, a former National Intelligence Service agent who has spent the past decade hiding his identity while working as a chef at Oran Chinese Restaurant. Alongside him are North Korean operative Bong Je Soon, who lost his memories from 10 years ago, and Kang Beom Ryong, the longtime second-in-command of the Hwasan gang who now runs a convenience store. Their differing expressions and gazes hint at the complex relationships tying them together.
Adding to the tension are Chairman Do and Yoo In Goo, whose sharp and confrontational presence suggests they stand in opposition to the trio. Prosecutor Kang Young Ae, seen making a phone call with a cold expression, also hints at the beginning of a dangerous incident.
The wary looks exchanged between the characters raise questions about “that incident” from 10 years ago and the mysterious missing object connected to it all. Anticipation is building over how these characters, reunited after a decade, will clash once again—and what hidden truths will finally come to light.
“Fifties Professionals” will premiere on May 22 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki. Stay tuned!

Han Ji Eun, Hyun Bong Sik, Kim Sang Ho, And More Get Entangled Within Different Power Groups In “Fifties Professionals”
MBC’s upcoming drama “Fifties Professionals” has unveiled new stills featuring its splendid supporting cast!
The drama centers on the story of former National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent Jung Ho Myung (Shin Ha Kyun), North Korean operative Bong Jae Soon (Oh Jung Se), who lost his memory after an unexpected accident, and gangster Kang Beom Ryong (Heo Sung Tae), who is pursuing Jung Ho Myung. All three are now on Yeongseon Island following an operation that failed 10 years ago.
The newly released stills feature a strong supporting cast of talented veteran actors including Han Ji Eun, Kim Sang Ho, Hyun Bong Sik, Shin Dong Mi, Lee Soon Won, Lee Han Wi, Kim Byung Ok, and Jung Suk Yong. The relationships between characters intertwined within police, organized crime, family, and power structures are expected to deliver both tension and human warmth.
Han Ji Eun plays Park Mi Kyung, a patrol officer at the Yeongseon Police Substation. She is a character who feels skeptical about corruption within the organization but never lets go of her sense of justice.
Kim Sang Ho takes on the role of Jo Seong Won, a team leader in the NIS’s anti-communist investigation unit. Although he possesses an excellent sense of intuition and a strong sense of justice, he is framed due to internal betrayal and ends up on the run. He later tracks the truth while hiding his identity for a long time and engages in a strong partnership with Jung Ho Myung.
Hyun Bong Sik appears as Yoo In Gu, the head of the Ingu faction. In the past, during his time with the Hwasan faction, he was overshadowed by Kang Beom Ryong and failed to make a name for himself, but he eventually grew into a core figure of the organization by leveraging his social skills. However, he lives in constant anxiety, fearing revenge from the disappeared Kang Beom Ryong and Ma Gong Bok (Lee Hak Joo).
Shin Dong Mi plays Ho Myung’s wife Kwon Oh Ran, portraying a realistic story of a married couple. As the daughter of the long-standing Ohran Restaurant, she is a character who endures the weight of reality amidst childcare, the family business, and her lethargic husband. The indifferent affection and lived-in chemistry typical of a long-married couple are expected to add warmth to the drama.
Lee Soon Won plays Geum Gang Sik, the second-in-command of the Ingu faction. He is a character who has solidified his position in the organization by relying on power rather than ability; while he is Yoo In Gu’s right-hand man, he also harbors ambitions to take that position one day.
Lee Han Wi takes on the role of CEO Kwon, the owner of Ohran Restaurant, showcasing a realistic father character who acts as the anchor for his family.
Kim Byung Ok appears as Hwang Hwa San, the boss of the Hwasan faction. Once called a legend in the organized crime world, he fell from grace after being framed for murder following a failed NIS operation. He places his final hope on Kang Beom Ryong and Ma Gong Bok, adding tension to the story.
Jung Suk Yong plays Ri Cheol Jin, the person in charge of the People’s Armed Forces’ special forces, and will act as a key figure who shakes up the board amidst power and desire.
The production team stated, “The quality of the project has been further elevated by the performances of actors such as Han Ji Eun, Kim Sang Ho, Hyun Bong Sik, and Shin Dong Mi. Please look forward to the synergy they will create with Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se, and Heo Sung Tae as well as the character-driven performances full of individuality.”
“Fifties Professionals” is set to premiere on May 22 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available to watch on Viki.
