Movie Star Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for film actors.

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of 50 popular movie stars, using big data collected from May 18 to June 18.

Koo Kyo Hwan topped this month’s list after seeing a 146 percent increase in his brand reputation index since last month, bringing his total score to 10,396,316. High-ranking phrases in his keyword analysis included “Colony,” “Jun Ji Hyun,” and “Seo Young Cheol,” while his highest-ranking related terms included “transform,” “flawless,” and “outstanding.”

Park Ji Hoon took second place with a brand reputation index of 9,578,276, marking a 31.29 percent rise in his brand reputation index since last month.

Jin Ki Joo ranked third with a brand reputation index of 6,716,512, while Jun Ji Hyun came in at a close fourth with a score of 6,427,048.

Finally, Kim Moo Yul shot to fifth place after seeing a whopping 498.43 percent increase in his brand reputation index, bringing his total score to 5,380,920.

“Colony” continues its reign at No. 1 at the Korean box office!

On the morning of June 13 KST, the Korean Film Council announced that “Colony” had officially reached a total of 5,007,673 moviegoers. The film was first released on May 21, meaning that it took less than 24 days to hit the 5 million mark.

Notably, “Colony” reached the milestone two days faster than last year’s “My Daughter Is a Zombie,” which was Korea’s biggest box office hit of 2025.

“Colony” is only the second film released in 2026 to surpass 5 million moviegoers, following the record-breaking hit “The King’s Warden.”

Helmed by “Train to Busan” and “Peninsula” director Yeon Sang Ho, “Colony” is a zombie film about survivors trapped in a building that has been blockaded due to a rapidly mutating virus as they face the ever-growing threat of the infected, who evolve in unpredictable ways. The film “Colony” has surpassed 4 million moviegoers just two weeks after its release!

According to the Korean Film Council, “Colony” recorded a cumulative total of 4,000,131 moviegoers as of 5:12 p.m. KST on June 3, achieving the feat just 14 days after its release.

The film has now become the fastest Korean release of 2026 to surpass 4 million admissions. Previously, it reached 1 million moviegoers on its fourth day, 2 million on its fifth day, and 3 million on its 10th day. By surpassing 4 million admissions on its 14th day, the film continues to set new records for the fastest box office milestones among films released this year.

The upcoming SBS drama “Nine to Six” has unveiled its first still!

On June 1, SBS held its drama media day event “SBS DRAMA: NEXT EPISODE” in Seoul, where it unveiled its upcoming drama lineup for the second half of 2026 and the first half of 2027.

Among the dramas scheduled to air later this year is the office romance series “Nine to Six.”

“Nine to Six” tells the story of Kang Yi Ji (Park Min Young), who has long put romance on the back burner due to her intense focus on work. After meeting the thoughtful and warm-hearted Han Seon Woo (Yook Sungjae), she learns how to love, and the two grow together in both their careers and lives. The drama is based on the popular 2021 Chinese series “The Rational Life.”

High-ranking phrases in Yoo Hae Jin’s keyword analysis included “The King’s Warden,” “Baeksang Arts Awards Grand Prize,” and “actor with a 10-million-moviegoer film,” while his highest-ranking related terms included “harmless,” “friendly,” and “donate.”

Mun Ka Young took third place with a brand reputation index of 4,756,803, marking a 57.93 percent increase in her score since last month.

Jung Woo shot to fourth place after seeing a whopping 321.18 percent rise in his brand reputation index since April, bringing his total score to 4,696,796.

Finally, Yoon Kyung Ho rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 4,275,625 for May.
