The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!

This month, &TEAM’s new Japanese EP “We on Fire” earned an official triple platinum certification for over 750,000 units shipped in Japan. According to the RIAJ’s certification thresholds, albums are certified gold at 100,000 units shipped and platinum at 250,000.

“Gold Land” follows Hee Joo (Park Bo Young), a security screening officer at an international airport who unexpectedly comes into possession of gold bars tied to an illegal smuggling ring. As those around her become consumed by greed and betrayal, Hee Joo is drawn into a dangerous battle—not just with others, but with her own growing desire to keep the gold.

The newly released stills capture the tension between Kim Hee Joo, who sought to escape her unfortunate past, and Lee Do Kyung (Lee Hyun Wook), who reached out to help her. The two, who had been secretly dating, begin to experience a rift in their relationship due to the 150 billion won (approximately $102 million) worth of gold bars. Do Kyung ends up dragging Hee Joo into an illegal smuggling case, increasingly leaning more toward greed than love. Their choices to protect each other turn into dangerous bets filled with suspicion, and their relationship eventually spirals in an unpredictable direction. “Gold Land” has shared a more in-depth look at its intriguing characters!

“Gold Land” follows Hee Joo (Park Bo Young), a security screening officer at an international airport who unexpectedly comes into possession of gold bars tied to an illegal smuggling ring. As those around her become consumed by greed and betrayal, Hee Joo is drawn into a dangerous battle—not just with others, but with her own growing desire to keep the gold.

The character teaser introduces each of the main players in a battle to take the gold. Kim Hee Joo, a conflicted individual, claims, “I have the gold bars—it’s mine.” She asks, “If it doesn’t belong to anyone, why can’t I have it?” adding, “If I can just have this, I can do anything, and I also don’t have to do anything.”

Kim Sung Cheol plays Woo Gi, who finds out Hee Joo possesses smuggled gold and deliberately approaches her while eyeing the gold. He urges, “I’m here to help you,” making a promise with Kim Hee Joo. However, he gradually becomes violent as a man “honest in the face of desires.”

Lee Hyun Wook transforms into Lee Do Kyung, Kim Hee Joo’s lover and the catalyst of the incident. He tells Hee Joo, “Let’s change all the gold bars into cash and leave here.” He adds, “Trust me, and please do as I say.”

Lee Kwang Soo portrays Director Park, who promises to retrieve the casket with the gold bars, showing that he’s not afraid to use violent means to do so.

Cha Hak Yeon and Kim Ji Eun will be teaming up as siblings in the upcoming Korean remake of “Gold Digger”!

On April 23, JTBC’s upcoming drama “Gold Digger” confirmed, “Kim Ji Eun and Cha Hak Yeon will be appearing in the drama.”

A Korean remake of the British series of the same name, “Gold Digger” tells the story of a fatal young man who approaches a successful middle-aged woman, leaving her to question whether his intentions are love or deception. The drama will depict a tense psychological battle as the two continuously doubt and misunderstand each other’s true feelings.
