The wait is nearly over: NewJeans is back!

On July 22 at midnight KST, NewJeans rang in the fourth anniversary of their debut with several  “2026 Summer of NewJeans” films and photos signaling their return as a four-member group.

Following Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni’s return to ADOR last year and the termination of Danielle’s contract, there had recently been rumors of Minji’s return, but nothing had previously been confirmed about her rejoining her bandmates at the agency. However, the newly released videos and photos appear to confirm that Minji has returned and that NewJeans will be moving forward as a four-member group.

Cha Woo Min, CIX’s Hyunsuk, EPEX’s Baekseung, And More Transform Into Fictional Idol Group In “My Bias, My Boss”

tvN’s upcoming drama “My Bias, My Boss” has released new “concept photos” of its fictional idol group D.N.X!

Based on a webtoon, “My Bias, My Boss” tells the story of the romance between Nam Da Reum (Kim Hye Joon), who joins a company to meet her longtime idol bias Lee Chan (Cha Woo Min), and the company’s CEO Kang Ha Gi (Kang Hoon).

A devoted fan of D.N.X member Lee Chan for the past 12 years, Nam Da Reum joins Apello, the company founded by Lee Chan and Kang Ha Gi, hoping to fulfill her dream of becoming a successful fan by working alongside her favorite idol. After joining the company, she finds herself caught between Lee Chan and CEO Kang Ha Gi.

D.N.X, short for “Destiny Never X,” is a five-member idol group that rose to fame shortly after its debut. The group consists of visual member Lee Chan, youngest member Roy (Chun Woo Jin), leader Hyuk (CIX’s Hyunsuk), main vocal Tae Oh (EPEX’s Baekseung), and rapper Jinu (Jung Hyun Min).

D.N.X debuted in 2015 and became known for its refreshing image, strong vocals, and powerful performances. However, the group has been unable to make a comeback for undisclosed reasons. As Lee Chan was the group’s most popular member during its peak, fans continue to look forward to D.N.X’s return, remembering not only their music and performances but also the members’ chemistry.

The newly released concept photos capture the group’s diverse charms, recalling the idol image that once won over countless fans.

HYBE Introduces New Girl Group TUIDE With Official Social Media Accounts

HYBE’s new girl group will officially be called TUIDE!

On July 20 at midnight KST, HYBE revealed that their upcoming girl group, who will debut under the newly established label ABD, will be named TUIDE.

Back in May, ABD unveiled its first glimpse of the girl group, who will be produced by PLEDIS Entertainment founder Han Sung Soo (known for producing groups like SEVENTEEN, After School, IZ*ONE, TWS, and more).

July Girl Group Member Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for individual girl group members!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes of 735 girl group members, using big data collected from June 19 to July 19.

RESCENE’s Woni topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 7,962,989, marking an 89.84 percent increase in her score since June. High-ranking phrases in her keyword analysis included “LOVE ATTACK,” “Lee Sun Min,” and “Pretty Girl,” while her positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 91.26 percent positive reactions.

Meanwhile, IVE’s Jang Won Young came in at a close second with a brand reputation index of 7,490,203 for July.

aespa’s Karina took third place with a brand reputation index of 5,618,919, marking an 18.63 percent increase in her score since last month.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie ranked fourth with a brand reputation index of 4,984,751, while RESCENE’s Minami followed close behind in fifth with a score of 4,899,662.

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes of 755 boy group members, using big data collected from June 18 to July 18.

BTS’s Jimin held onto his spot at the top of this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 3,893,749. High-ranking phrases in his keyword analysis included “ARMY,” “Munich,” and “blond,” while his highest-ranking related terms included “communicate,” “surpass,” and “steadfast.” Jimin’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 93.40 percent positive reactions.

Wanna One’s Park Ji Hoon came in at a close second with a brand reputation index of 3,687,282, while BTS’s Jungkook ranked third with a score of 3,359,098.

ATEEZ’s San shot to fourth place after seeing a whopping 815.27 percent increase in his brand reputation index since last month, bringing his total score to 1,919,276 for July.

Finally, CORTIS’s Keonho rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 1,902,631, marking a 5.77 percent rise in his score since June.

JYP Label Girl Group OURBIRTHDAY Reveals First 3 Members

JYP Entertainment subsidiary INNIT ENTERTAINMENT is gearing up to debut a new girl group!

OURBIRTHDAY is a seven-member girl group, and the first three members were revealed with a teaser clip titled “ERROR 502: Bad Gateway”:

Cho Hyejin, who won the audition program “THE DDANDDARA” last year, as well as Baby and Achiraya have been announced as the first three members. They will be releasing the digital single “HUNGRY (Side A)” on July 22 at 6 p.m. KST.

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for all idol groups!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of various idol groups, using big data collected from June 15 to July 15.

BTS held onto their spot at the top of the list this month with a brand reputation index of 6,518,675. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “ARMY,” “London concert,” and “world tour,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “collaborate,” “record,” and “create.” BTS’s positivity-negativity analysis revealed a score of 92.57 percent positive reactions.

Meanwhile, CORTIS maintained their position at second place with a brand reputation index of 5,409,892.

I.O.I came in at a close third for July with a brand reputation index of 5,214,323.

RESCENE held steady at fourth place with a brand reputation index of 5,014,734, marking an 18.40 percent increase in their score since last month.

Finally, TWICE rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 3,866,983, marking a 36.38 percent rise in their score since June.

CIX’s Hyunsuk Confirmed To Star In “Study Group 2” As Villain

CIX’s Hyunsuk is officially joining the cast of “Study Group 2”!

On July 13, MyDaily reported that Hyunsuk had been cast as Ji Young Hyun in “Study Group 2” and was already filming. In the original webtoon, Ji Young Hyun serves as the season’s main antagonist.

The following day, TVING confirmed the news, stating, “It is true that Hyunsuk will appear in ‘Study Group 2.’ He is currently filming.”

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “Study Group” is a high school action-comedy about Youn Ga Min (Hwang Minhyun), a student who dreams of excelling academically but is only gifted in fighting. At a high school notorious for being one of the worst in the world, he forms a study group and dives into the ruthless world of college entrance exams. The drama ranked in the Top 5 for over 140 regions on Viki, proving its global success.

Hyunsuk debuted as a member of CIX in 2019 before launching his acting career in 2021. After recently signing with Management Run, he has been expanding his acting portfolio and is also set to appear in tvN’s upcoming drama “My Bias, My Boss,” where he stars alongside his “Study Group 2” co-star Cha Woo Min.

MBC Plus’s upcoming drama “My Idol, My Debut” has kicked off the countdown to the debut of its fictional girl group IRION!

“My Idol, My Debut” is a time-slip coming-of-age story about a passionate fan who travels eight years into the past to prevent a tragic accident. In an effort to change fate, she winds up becoming an idol trainee.

THE BOYZ’s Q will star as Han Jae Ha, a key member of the boy group BOY TO THE MOON, while Hwang Ji Ah will play Choi Annie, a devoted fan of Han Jae Ha who winds up becoming a member of the girl group IRION after traveling eight years back in time.

The upcoming drama has now released teaser images of IRION for their upcoming debut with “MEMORIA,” which is due out on July 19 at 12 p.m. KST.

July Girl Group Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for girl groups!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community indexes of various girl groups, using big data collected from June 12 to July 12.

I.O.I skyrocketed to the top of this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 5,552,322 for July. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “Suddenly,” “Yang Eui Ji,” and “10th anniversary,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “unchanged,” “reunite,” and “prove.” I.O.I’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 92.86 percent positive reactions.

RESCENE shot to second place on the list with a brand reputation index of 4,239,616, marking a 64.27 percent increase in their score since last month.

ILLIT held onto their spot at third place with a brand reputation index of 3,883,353, marking a 1.38 percent rise in their score since June.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK came in at a close fourth with a brand reputation index of 3,822,722 for July.

Finally, LE SSERAFIM rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 3,403,644, marking a 55.17 percent increase in their score since June.
