Ha Young Steps Down From New Seasons Of “The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call”

Ha Young is stepping down from the cast of the new seasons of “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.”

On September 1, a media outlet reported that Ha Young has been confirmed to leave the new seasons of the Netflix original “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,” which is scheduled to begin filming in October. According to the report, Ha Young informed the production team first that she would not be able to participate in the series.

In response to the report, Netflix confirmed her departure, stating, “Ha Young has decided not to appear in the follow-up to ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,’ and we respect her decision.”

Released last year, “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” follows genius trauma surgeon Baek Kang Hyuk (Ju Ji Hoon) as he works to revive a struggling Severe Trauma Care team. Ha Young gained recognition for her role as nurse Cheon Jang Mi and was subsequently set to reprise her role in Seasons 2 and 3 alongside the lead cast.

Her departure comes after Ha Young recently became the center of controversy over allegations of her great-grandfather’s pro-Japanese activities.

Meanwhile, Ha Young is set to wrap filming for SBS’ new drama “The Long Shot Trial” on September 3.

Ha Young’s Agency Shares Update On Her Filming For Upcoming Drama

Actress Ha Young’s agency has released a new statement regarding the status of her drama project.

On August 20, a media outlet reported that the actress had returned to filming for the upcoming SBS drama “The Long Shot Trial.” Previously, she was reported to have shed tears on set on August 13 and resumed filming after taking a break for several hours following the controversy over her great-grandfather’s alleged pro-Japanese activities. Following the incident, she reportedly took a weeklong break at the production team’s consideration and returned to filming today.

In response to the report, Ha Young’s agency BISTUS Entertainment stated, “Ha Young is continuing with her previously scheduled filming. We ask for your understanding that it is difficult to provide specific details regarding the schedule or progress separately.”

Set to premiere in 2027, SBS’s “The Long Shot Trial” is a lighthearted legal comedy that follows the ragtag members of a law office led by Kwon Baek (Lee Je Hoon), a former lawyer who now works as a law office manager. Together, they find unconventional ways to turn seemingly unwinnable cases into victories.

The drama is reportedly about 90 percent complete in filming. Meanwhile, further concerns have been raised as the drama is based on a popular Japanese drama and is scheduled to air in February, ahead of The March 1st Independence Movement Day.

Amid the controversy, Ha Young’s agency previously released a statement while the actress also issued a handwritten apology.

Ha Young Personally Apologizes For Recent Family History Controversy

On August 12, Ha Young took to her personal Instagram account to share a handwritten letter apologizing for the recent controversy. Read the full post below:

This is Ha Young.

First and foremost, I bow my head in apology for the disappointment and pain I have caused due to issues related to my great-grandfather. Recently, as I learned of the past actions of my great-grandfather Ahn Sang Ho, I have been reflecting on my family’s history with a heavy heart.

Until now, I had only known about my great-grandfather’s life in fragments, based on stories passed down through my family. Shamefully, I spoke of him in various settings as if he were a source of family pride, while remaining in such a state of ignorance.

Through this incident, I went through the process of looking up relevant materials myself and learned of my great-grandfather’s pro-Japanese activities. I deeply regret that I spoke of my family history so lightly without properly understanding the painful history of our country during the Japanese colonial period.

Furthermore, when the controversy first arose, I myself did not know the exact facts, which led to the agency releasing a statement claiming the reports were “groundless.” I believe it was my own shortcoming that allowed such an incorrect statement to be delivered without sufficient verification. I sincerely apologize for the greater confusion and wound this has caused.

I also apologize repeatedly for the delay in expressing my position, as I was deeply troubled and struggled with how to convey my sincere apologies given the gravity of the situation.

I realize that the fact that I was unaware of these things cannot be an excuse to ignore or treat that history lightly. I accept those errors with a heavy heart and, as a descendant, I offer my sincere apologies. I feel even more remorseful for causing trouble due to my shortcomings during a time leading up to National Liberation Day.

I will keep this incident deep in my heart. I will properly examine my family’s history and that era, and I will adopt a more cautious attitude toward history in the future. Furthermore, I will study our history in depth and do my utmost to serve with respect for the independence activists and everyone who dedicated themselves to the liberation and well-being of our country. I will prove this not just with words but with actions.

Once again, I sincerely apologize to everyone who has been worried by this.

Sincerely,
Ha Young

Ha Young’s Agency Releases Official Statement Regarding Recent Controversy Over Her Family History

Actress Ha Young’s agency has released a new statement regarding the recent controversy surrounding her family history.

Ha Young recently appeared on programs such as the KBS2 variety show “Problem Child in House,” where she mentioned her family’s four-generation legacy in the medical field, spanning from her great-grandfather and grandfather to her father and older sister. In particular, she introduced her great-grandfather as someone who studied medicine in Japan before opening a Western-style clinic in Hanyang (Seoul) and treating Emperor Gojong.

Following the broadcast, speculation spread that the great-grandfather Ha Young mentioned was the doctor Ahn Sang Ho, which her agency BISTUS Entertainment subsequently confirmed. Afterward, records emerged showing Ahn Sang Ho’s name on the list of council members for the Daejeong Chinmokhoe (a pro-Japanese organization) in 1916, sparking controversy regarding his activities during the Japanese colonial period.

On August 10, her agency released an official statement, saying the allegations raised online regarding Ahn Sang Ho’s alleged pro-Japanese activities were “groundless.” However, a day later—on August 11—the agency apologized, stating, “We sincerely apologize for causing confusion by hastily responding that the reports were ‘groundless’ without sufficient verification.”

Read the agency’s full statement below:

Hello, this is BISTUS Entertainment.

We are conveying our position regarding the recent reports concerning actress Ha Young’s family history.

First, we would like to address our previous statement that the reports were “groundless.” Upon further verification, we have confirmed that there is indeed an existing record of her great-grandfather, doctor Ahn Sang Ho, being listed as a council member of the Daejeong Chinmokhoe in 1916. We sincerely apologize for causing confusion by hastily responding that the reports were “groundless” without sufficient verification.

During a recent appearance on a broadcast program, actress Ha Young mentioned her family’s four-generation legacy in the medical field while responding to a question. The actress herself is feeling very heavy-hearted that this has unintentionally led to controversy.

Through this incident, our company has deeply realized how much careful verification is required when conveying historical facts and an individual’s background to the public.

Actress Ha Young also deeply takes to heart the concern caused by this incident, and she will approach her future activities with a more cautious and humble attitude.

Thank you.

Jung Hae In And Ha Young Face Love, Lies, And A Crime Boss In “Our Sticky Love”

Jung Hae In and Ha Young’s new romantic comedy “Our Sticky Love” premieres today!

“Our Sticky Love” is a sweet romantic comedy that follows Go Eun Sae (Ha Young), an amnesiac prosecutor who suddenly finds herself living under the same roof with Jang Tae Ha (Jung Hae In), a boxing coach who claims he’s her boyfriend. Set in a quiet countryside village lined with yeot (traditional Korean taffy) shops, their unexpected cohabitation sparks a quirky, heart-fluttering romance that’s as sweet—and sticky—as its setting.

The series is directed by Kim Jang Han of “Do You Like Brahms?” and “My Demon,” and written by Mo Ji Hye, who reunites with the director for the first time in four years since “You Raise Me Up.”

Centered on the romance that unexpectedly blossoms between Jang Tae Ha and Go Eun Sae, the series also weaves in action and noir elements through the relentless pursuit of crime boss Baek Sang Gil (Heo Sung Tae), who is hunting the very-much-alive Go Eun Sae. The colorful residents of Yeot Village further add warmth, humor, and heart to the story.
