MBC’s “Fifties Professionals” has shared a new making-of video!

“Fifties Professionals” is an action-comedy about three seemingly ordinary but secretly dangerous middle-aged men who are brought back into action by destiny. The three men, who once reigned at the top of their respective fields, find themselves exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon after a mysterious incident. There, they begin a bittersweet and comedic quest to uncover the truth about the fateful day from 10 years ago that changed their lives.

The newly released making-of clip captures the cast’s focus and teamwork on set, particularly during the drama’s action-heavy sequences.

Shin Ha Kyun is seen meticulously rehearsing his choreography during individual action shoots. Even after filming his scenes, he immediately checks on the condition of fellow actors before returning to practice his movements again.

Meanwhile, Oh Jung Se works closely with the director to fine-tune the details of his character’s movements. From timidly opening a door to awkwardly getting caught by the foot and falling, he carefully syncs each action beat to his character’s personality. In contrast to his clumsy on-screen persona, he also impresses on set by quickly mastering the stunt team’s choreography and executing the action sequences with ease during rehearsals.

Heo Sung Tae brings a lighter energy to the set, focusing on comedic ad-libs alongside co-star Lee Hak Joo.

The video also showcases the cast filming large-scale action scenes in the rain. Between takes, the three actors remain deeply focused, constantly discussing choreography, throwing themselves fully into the physical performances, and rehearsing with intensity.

The newly released posters spotlight Jung Ho Myung (Shin Ha Kyun), Bong Je Soon (Oh Jung Se), and Kang Beom Ryong (Heo Sung Tae), while a separate group poster also features Kang Young Ae (Kim Shin Rok), Chairman Do (Kwon Yul), Ma Gong Bok (Lee Hak Joo), Park Mi Kyung (Han Ji Eun), and Yoo In Goo (Hyun Bong Sik).

All three are now on Yeongseon Island following an operation that failed 10 years ago. As the line, “It seems like life and operations are truly unpredictable,” suggests, a decade has passed, and all three are physically and emotionally worn down.

Meanwhile, those behind the incident that Jung Ho Myung has been chasing for 10 years begin to move toward their own goals. The three men, who once reigned at the top of their respective fields, find themselves exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon after a mysterious incident. There, they begin a bittersweet and comedic quest to uncover the truth about the fateful day from 10 years ago that changed their lives.

Shin Ha Kyun plays Jung Ho Myung, a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent who has been on standby for 10 years and now works as the head chef at a Chinese restaurant. Oh Jung Se plays Bong Je Soon, a North Korean special operations agent who lost his memory 10 years ago. Heo Sung Tae plays Kang Beom Ryong, the No. 2 figure in the Hwasan Gang who now runs a convenience store.

The newly released character teaser introduces Jung Ho Myung, Bong Je Soon, and Kang Beom Ryong in depth.

The teaser begins with Jung Ho Myung’s confident outburst, “Look, see if i can do it or not,” only for him to be quickly dejected by being unable to even collect tabs from customers. Hearing his wife Kwon Oh Ran’s (Shin Dong Mi) nagging, Jung Ho Myung struggles with his reality, especially as he faces an unexpected menopause diagnosis.

Meanwhile, after being found at sea with no memories, Bong Je Soon is now in charge of cleaning and washing cars, being easily taken advantage of. As he wonders “What happened?” Bong Je Soon makes viewers curious to find out if he will be able to recall his memories.

At the convenience store, Kang Beom Ryong tells his underling Ma Gong Bok (Lee Hak Joo), “Just focus on raising the convenience store’s sales.” Although he wants to appear to be a friendly store owner, he can’t forget his life as a gangster as he instinctively thinks the police wants to arrest him when asked to put his hands out.

The teaser concludes as tensions rise regarding a suspicious incident resurfacing around Yeongseon island and what “the incident of that day” from 10 years ago could be. Furthermore, the addition of cast members Kim Sang Kyung, Kim Shin Rok, Kwon Yul, Lee Hak Joo, Han Ji Eun, Kim Sang Ho, and Hyun Bong Sik add further anticipation to the drama.

MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Fifties Professionals” has unveiled a new poster!

“Fifties Professionals” is an action-comedy about three seemingly ordinary but secretly dangerous middle-aged men who are brought back into action by destiny. The three men, who once reigned at the top of their respective fields, find themselves exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon after a mysterious incident. There, they begin a bittersweet and comedic quest to uncover the truth about the fateful day from 10 years ago that changed their lives.

Shin Ha Kyun plays Jung Ho Myung, a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent who has been on standby for 10 years and now works as the head chef at a Chinese restaurant. In the drama, Jung Ho Myung is trying to recover an “item” that was key to a failed operation in the past. Bong Je Soon survives after returning from the brink of death and is driven by a strong will to live. Seeking revenge for his collapsed criminal organization, Kang Beom Ryong ends up pursuing Jung Ho Myung again. The three come together on Yeongseon Island for their own reasons and attempt to return to the glory of their prime.

The poster shows Jung Ho Myung, Bong Je Soon, and Kang Beom Ryong staring at one another with battered faces. The tension in their eyes and their solemn expressions hint at the complicated relationships between the three characters.

The tagline “Who says they’re past their prime?” hints at a comeback by the three men as they begin the second act of their lives. Once former enemies who had to take each other down, they now meet again, raising questions about whether their reunion will lead to teamwork or a violent clash.
