Lee Do Hyun Confirmed To Star Alongside Lee Byung Hun And Go Youn Jung In Upcoming Historical Action Film

Lee Do Hyun has officially joined the cast of the upcoming film “Nambeol” (romanized title)!

On July 20, a media outlet reported that Lee Do Hyun had been cast in the film “Nambeol.”

In response to the report, the film’s production company Hive Media Corp officially confirmed Lee Do Hyun’s casting.

Set in the early Joseon dynasty, “Nambeol” is a hard-boiled martial arts action film that follows nine warriors of varying abilities and social ranks as they travel to Tsushima Island to rescue captives who have been abducted by Japanese pirates.

Earlier, Lee Byung Hun was confirmed to star as Im Eok, the leader of the group of warriors, while Go Youn Jung will play the strong-willed and independent Ae Ryeong.

Lee Do Hyun will take on the role of Bo Gyeong, a warrior who leads the punitive force at the forefront of the story. Bo Gyeong is a highly skilled fighter and the loyal right-hand man of Im Eok. The character is expected to showcase both intense action and strong camaraderie, making him a multidimensional figure.

The film will be directed by Lee Mo Gae, who is making his feature directorial debut. Lee Mo Gae and Lee Do Hyun previously worked together on “Exhuma,” with Lee Mo Gae serving as the cinematographer. Their strong working relationship from that project is said to have contributed to Lee Do Hyun’s casting in the film.

Go Youn Jung will play Ae Ryeong, a strong-willed and independent woman who takes center stage in the historical epic. Kim Ji Hun and Park Ju Hyun may be starring together in a new drama!

On July 1, MHN Sports reported that Kim Ji Hun has been cast as the male lead in the upcoming drama “Sigor Amour” (literal title), while STARNEWS separately reported that Park Ju Hyun will also star in the series.

Kim Ji Hun’s agency confirmed his casting and shared, “Filming is scheduled to begin in the second half of this year.” Meanwhile, Park Ju Hyun’s agency has not yet responded to the casting report.

“Sigor Amour” is a 12-episode human romantic comedy set in a traditional market in Myeongsan County, South Chungcheong Province. The drama follows a realistic debt collection lawyer who has spent his life focused solely on survival. After becoming involved with the people of the local market, he gradually discovers the true meaning of community, love, and family.

Kim Ji Hun will play Ki Ho Tae, a debt collection lawyer known for his sharp eloquence and cool-headed judgment. Although he begins as a thorough realist, he gradually grows into someone who puts people first as he works alongside the market’s residents to solve various cases.

Park Ju Hyun has reportedly been offered the role of Hong Mi Jin, a former police sergeant who returns to her hometown and runs a butcher shop in the local market.

“Sigor Amour” is set to air on TV Chosun in the second half of this year.

Lee Byung Hun plays Im Eok, who leads the mission to rescue Joseon captives held on Tsushima Island, guided by his cool-headed judgment and unwavering conviction, honed through countless battles.
