ENA’s “Dream to You” has unveiled new stills ahead of its upcoming episode!

“Dream to You” is a romantic comedy about the reunion of genius film director Woo Soo Bin (Hwang In Youp), who returns after achieving his dreams, and reporter Ju Yi Jae (Hyeri), who has forgotten her own.

Spoilers

Previously, Episode 3 saw Woo Soo Bin comforting Ju Yi Jae, who had long put her dreams aside while dealing with the realities of life. As Ju Yi Jae broke down in tears over giving up her dream of becoming a film director, Woo Soo Bin quietly stayed by her side, hinting at a turning point in their relationship. The episode ended on a cliffhanger as Ju Yi Jae woke up in the hotel where Woo Soo Bin was staying after a night of drinking, with an unexpectedly intimate moment in the bathroom leaving viewers wondering what happened the night before.

The newly released stills show the two spending time together in the studio. Wearing glasses instead of his usual look, Woo Soo Bin gives off a more intellectual vibe, while Ju Yi Jae watches him with a hint of nervousness. Sitting close together with only a laptop between them, the pair’s growing closeness suggests their romance is beginning to blossom.

Hwang In Youp And Hyeri’s Relationship Begins To Change In “Dream To You”

ENA’s “Dream to You” has unveiled new stills ahead of its upcoming episode!

“Dream to You” is a romantic comedy about the reunion of genius film director Woo Soo Bin (Hwang In Youp), who returns after achieving his dreams, and reporter Ju Yi Jae (Hyeri), who has forgotten her own.

Spoilers

Previously in the drama, it was revealed that Woo Soo Bin had no choice but to leave for the United States without keeping his promise to Ju Yi Jae in order to pursue a career as a doctor in accordance with his father Woo Chul Gyu’s (Jung Hae Kyun) wishes. It was also revealed that Ju Yi Jae was involved in a traffic accident while searching for Woo Soo Bin, leaving her unconscious and completely changing the course of her life.

15 years later, Woo Soo Bin still has not given up on his dream of making films together with Ju Yi Jae and continues to pursue her wholeheartedly. Although Ju Yi Jae initially pushed him away with a cold attitude, she eventually found herself in a situation where she needed to secure Woo Soo Bin’s appearance on her program in order for it to receive its own time slot. The previous episode ended with her going to see him herself, heightening anticipation for what comes next.

The newly released stills depict the changing dynamic between Ju Yi Jae and Woo Soo Bin. The photos show Woo Soo Bin playfully flicking Ju Yi Jae on the forehead while she squeezes her eyes shut in anticipation. Laughing together and teasing each other just as they did when they were students, the two display the same natural chemistry they shared in their youth despite now being in their 30s.

Another image captures Ju Yi Jae standing before Woo Soo Bin with her hands politely clasped together, seemingly making a heartfelt request, while Woo Soo Bin listens with a seemingly indifferent facial expression. The atmosphere between them is noticeably different from right after their reunion, when Woo Soo Bin boldly pursued her while Ju Yi Jae kept him at arm’s length.

The production team commented, “Woo Soo Bin and Ju Yi Jae, who have each lived with their own emotional scars, will gradually begin to experience changes in their relationship. Please look forward to the special moments between the two as they come to understand each other more deeply, find comfort in one another, and grow closer.”

3 Things We Loved & 2 Things We Didn’t About The Premiere Of “Dream To You”

Everyone has dreams of their own, especially when we are young, but that doesn’t mean all of them necessarily come true. During the most tender years of their lives, Joo Yi Jae (Girl’s Day’s Hyeri) and Woo Soo Bin (Hwang In Youp) have to learn this in a fateful way. ENA’s new romantic comedy, “Dream to You,” tells a story full of optimism, youth, and first love, but it also reveals the harsh realities of adulthood, regret, and heartbreak, ultimately portraying the complexity of life. Here are some things we loved and some things we didn’t about the premiere episodes of this K-drama!

Warning: spoilers from episodes 1-2 ahead.

LOVED: The slice-of-life vibe

In a small town outside Seoul with nothing but quietness and calm besides the blue sea, there is not much to do, except perhaps dreaming big. And no one does that better than Joo Yi Jae, a girl who stands out among other students for her cheerful personality and a strong desire to become a film director. On the other hand, Woo Soo Bin is a diligent and kind boy who has a set path in life, which has limited his own wishes. When they meet, it seems unlikely that they will become friends, but daily life ends up uniting their fates.

3 Things We Loved & 2 Things We Didn’t About The Premiere Of “Dream To You” 插图1

The easygoing and simple moments filled with nostalgia are so charming that it makes you smile from ear to ear throughout these first episodes. The bright colors, perky scenery, and slow pace give the perfect feeling for the late days of summer. Watching them walk side by side, simply enjoying their high school days as two normal kids without concerns, is the perfect setting to inspire some of the happiest memories and a truly unforgettable first love.

LOVED: The youthful romance

What starts as an uncharacteristic friendship between Joo Yi Jae and Woo Soo Bin soon becomes a budding romance. Though there’s not much tension between them from the beginning, there’s a special feeling of endearment as their relationship develops. It has the unique and unmistakable touch of young love. They also slowly bond over common interests and a shared dream.

As time passes and they start to work together on a story for a film that would open doors for their future, they become each other’s confidants and support. Despite there never being a proper declaration of love or even a kiss, whenever they are together, you can see the affection in their eyes. Nobody can deny that Soo Bin is Yi Jae’s number one admirer, while he turns into Yi Jae’s inspiration.

LOVED: The cinematographic set up

Since the story revolves around cinema, it is only natural that every scene in this show gives off that same vibe. From late ’90s romance scenarios to dynamic shots with action and zombies, there are glimpses of that industry here and there, making it entertaining to watch. But those elements not only make it visually interesting, but they also allow the show to open up to some of the subplots for the supporting couples.

While Yi Jae’s dream focuses on the job behind the camera, her good friend Shim Yoo Geon (Baek Sung Chul) struggles to become a successful actor after years of being a rookie actor. During one of his side gigs, he coincidentally meets top star Oh Ha Na (Lee Yul Eum). They also represent the two sides of the industry: whether you are at the very top or at the bottom, everyone has their own problems. Hopefully, this couple will add some more comic relief rather than a new issue to the show.

HATED: The disparity of circumstances

However, the merry-go-lucky vibe changes drastically once you watch the current circumstances both Woo Soo Bin and Joo Yi Jae live in. While Soo Bin has become an internationally acclaimed film director, Yi Jae is an ordinary broadcaster who struggles to make ends meet. Their worlds, which seemed not that distant at first, are now completely apart. That is, until Soo Bin unexpectedly shows up in front of Yi Jae after not seeing or knowing about each other for nearly 10 years.

Though it could be a heartfelt reunion between two old friends, the vibe doesn’t fit quite right. It isn’t only cliché, but also kind of frustrating watching the typical trope of the poor woman who has no choice but to bend to the rich and successful male lead’s whims. After finally achieving whatever he wants, Soo Bin returns as an alleged hero to turn Yi Jae’s life upside-down in hopes of working together again. But pushing his weight around her to get what he wants is hardly the most romantic story of all time.

3 Things We Loved & 2 Things We Didn’t About The Premiere Of “Dream To You” 插图14
3 Things We Loved & 2 Things We Didn’t About The Premiere Of “Dream To You” 插图15

HATED: The overflowing melodrama

For an allegedly romantic comedy, there aren’t many laughs or romance going on just yet. Of course, Hyeri’s well-known physical comedy and Hwang In Youp’s classic honey-dripping eyes are top-notch, but the story is too tragic to begin with. For starters, both main leads live under abusive and neglectful households. When they find a small sliver of happiness, they get separated, and Soo Bin gets basically exiled from South Korea. Later on, Yi Jae not only loses her chance to study for her dream career after an accident, but also loses her father and even ends up scarred forever.

In those terms, it seems difficult that love will bloom again. But given that they already started from friends to strangers, they can only go forward from here on out. They have the possibility to mend past mistakes, heal old wounds, and clear out all misunderstandings from when they were younger. However, it seems difficult that it will be easy to fix this messy beginning. In the meantime, we can only try to enjoy the surely chaotic journey they have ahead of them!

“Dream to You” is a romantic comedy about the reunion of genius film director Woo Soo Bin (Hwang In Youp), who returns after achieving his dreams, and reporter Ju Yi Jae (Hyeri), who has forgotten her own.

Spoilers

In the first episode, Woo Soo Bin, who returned to Korea to keep the promise he made to Ju Yi Jae to make a movie together, continued to charge forward despite her cold reaction. Amid this situation, the newly released stills show Woo Soo Bin looking at Ju Yi Jae with a much deeper gaze, a departure from the playful flirting he displayed previously.

One of the most memorable parts of “Family by Choice” is watching San Ha’s quiet but deeply emotional love for Ju Won unfold. His feelings are rooted in years of shared memories, unspoken emotions, and the complicated bond they built while growing up together. Hwang In Youp perfectly captures San Ha’s longing, especially in the moments where his eyes say more than words ever could. When he finally confesses his feelings after years of holding them in, the sincerity and emotion behind the scene make it one of the drama’s most unforgettable moments. That 10-year confession scene? Totally worth the wait.

Hwang In Youp’s First Love Hyeri Changes His Life Forever In “Dream To You”

Hwang In Youp has shared his thoughts on his upcoming drama “Dream to You”!

ENA’s “Dream to You” is a romantic comedy about the reunion of genius film director Woo Soo Bin (Hwang In Youp), who returns after achieving his dreams, and reporter Joo Yi Jae (Girl’s Day’s Hyeri), who has forgotten her own.

Newly released stills from the upcoming drama offer glimpses of Woo Soo Bin’s transformation as he goes from adolescence to adulthood. First, Woo Soo Bin begins the story as a high school student reaching the end of his teenage years, looking innocent and youthful as he plays with cats outdoors.

Until he meets Joo Yi Jae in his late teens, Woo Soo Bin lives his life strictly confined to a world designed by his parents. However, after Joo Yi Jae enters his life, she inspires him to dream his own dreams.

As an adult, Woo Soo Bin goes on to achieve those dreams by becoming an award-winning film director. After his first feature film sweeps the international film festival circuit, Woo Soo Bin returns to Joo Yi Jae’s side to keep a promise from 15 years ago.

Hwang In Youp commented, “‘Dream to You’ is a drama that asks the question ’What is it that I really want deep inside?’” He continued, “Soo Bin, who was living life without a dream, first discovers both dreams and love because of Yi Jae. And because of that same Yi Jae, he undergoes a transformation.”

The actor went on to reveal, “Every moment that I was acting, I kept the mindset: ‘From the Woo Soo Bin of the past to the Woo Soo Bin of the present, you, Joo Yi Jae, are the one who created the person that is Soo Bin. It’s all thanks to you.’ I tried to effectively convey those feelings [through my acting].”

Hwang In Youp Gives Hyeri A Second Chance At Her Dreams In “Dream To You”

ENA’s upcoming drama “Dream to You” has unveiled a special poster!

“Dream to You” is a romantic comedy about the reunion of genius film director Woo Soo Bin (Hwang In Youp), who returns after achieving his dreams, and reporter Joo Yi Jae (Girl’s Day’s Hyeri), who has forgotten her own.

15 years ago, Woo Soo Bin and Joo Yi Jae were one another’s first love in high school, when Joo Yi Jae inspired Woo Soo Bin to chase a dream outside of the strict world his parents had designed for him. After becoming a successful film director, he seeks out Joo Yi Jae, now an exhausted reporter struggling to make ends meet, and reawakens the dreams she had long since forgotten.

The newly released poster captures Woo Soo Bin and Joo Yi Jae after they reunite as adults and pick up where they left off 15 years ago. As they join forces to finish the film they first began working on together as students, the two are drawn to one another both because of their unresolved mutual attraction and their burning passion for cinema.

In addition to depicting Woo Soo Bin and Joo Yi Jae hard at work on the set of their film, the poster also shows the two of them gazing deeply into one another’s eyes, hinting at the romance to come. Meanwhile, the image of the couple holding hands and gazing in the same direction as they sit side by side in chairs labeled “Director Woo Soo Bin” and “Director Joo Yi Jae” offers a hopeful glimpse of their future.
