July Girl Group Member Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for individual girl group members!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes of 735 girl group members, using big data collected from June 19 to July 19.

RESCENE’s Woni topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 7,962,989, marking an 89.84 percent increase in her score since June. High-ranking phrases in her keyword analysis included “LOVE ATTACK,” “Lee Sun Min,” and “Pretty Girl,” while her positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 91.26 percent positive reactions.

Meanwhile, IVE’s Jang Won Young came in at a close second with a brand reputation index of 7,490,203 for July.

aespa’s Karina took third place with a brand reputation index of 5,618,919, marking an 18.63 percent increase in her score since last month.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie ranked fourth with a brand reputation index of 4,984,751, while RESCENE’s Minami followed close behind in fifth with a score of 4,899,662.

Circle Chart has announced its latest batch of official certifications!

In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.

This month, CORTIS earned two separate certifications for their latest EP “GREENGREEN.” The group received an official double million certification for selling over 2 million copies of the regular version of the album, while the Weverse version was certified double platinum for over 500,000 copies sold.

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community indexes of various girl groups, using big data collected from June 12 to July 12.

I.O.I skyrocketed to the top of this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 5,552,322 for July. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “Suddenly,” “Yang Eui Ji,” and “10th anniversary,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “unchanged,” “reunite,” and “prove.” I.O.I’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 92.86 percent positive reactions.

RESCENE shot to second place on the list with a brand reputation index of 4,239,616, marking a 64.27 percent increase in their score since last month.

ILLIT held onto their spot at third place with a brand reputation index of 3,883,353, marking a 1.38 percent rise in their score since June.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK came in at a close fourth with a brand reputation index of 3,822,722 for July.

Finally, LE SSERAFIM rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 3,403,644, marking a 55.17 percent increase in their score since June.

tvN’s upcoming drama “My Bias, My Boss” has shared a sneak peek of ITZY’s Yuna in character!

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “My Bias, My Boss” tells the story of the romance between Nam Da Reum, who joins a company to meet her longtime idol bias, and the company’s CEO Kang Ha Gi.

Kim Hye Joon will star as Nam Da Reum, the devoted fan who gets a job at the fashion startup Apello in order to meet her favorite idol Lee Chan (Cha Woo Min), but winds up growing unexpectedly close to the company’s CEO Kang Ha Gi (Kang Hoon).

Yuna will play the role of Yoon Choi, a rising actress who possesses both stunning beauty and star quality. As soon as she debuted, Yoon Choi stole the hearts of the public and skyrocketed to fame. She also received a positive response to her on-screen chemistry with Lee Chan in a romance project.

ITZY’s Ryujin made a surprise appearance in the final episode of JTBC’s “Reborn Rookie”!

“Reborn Rookie” is a drama that tells the story of Kang Yong Ho (Son Hyun Joo), the powerful chairman of leading conglomerate Choiseong Group. After an accident, he unexpectedly finds himself living an unwanted second life when his soul is swapped into the youthful body of soccer player Hwang Jun Hyun (Lee Jun Young), forcing him to start over as a rookie employee at his own company.

On July 5, the hit drama aired its highly-anticipated series finale, and to viewers’ delight, Ryujin made a surprise cameo as herself towards the end of the episode.

The final episode of the drama ended with a shocking twist: just when it seemed that everything and everyone had returned to their rightful places, another crisis was waiting around the corner for Hwang Jun Hyun. When Kang Yong Ho caught his daughter Kang Bang Geul (Lee Ju Myoung) kissing Hwang Jun Hyun, he raced angrily in their direction, leading to another soul-swapping collision.

This time, however, Ryujin accidentally walked right into the collision as well, causing the unfortunate idol to magically swap souls with Hwang Jun Hyun. What ensued was a comic scene in which Hwang Jun Hyun—now in Ryujin’s body—began laughing in shocked disbelief that this had happened to him a second time.

Meanwhile, a bewildered Ryujin—now in Hwang Jun Hyun’s body—struggled to process what was going on.

Then, when her staff attempted to lead Hwang Jun Hyun away, thinking he was Ryujin, the real Ryujin attempted to prove her identity by dancing to ITZY’s choreography.

The result was a hilarious moment in which actor Lee Jun Young, who originally debuted as a member of U-KISS, reminded everyone he was once an idol by performing the iconic shoulder dance from ITZY’s smash hit “WANNABE.”

Billboard has published its World Albums chart for the week ending on June 27!

BOYNEXTDOOR’s first full-length album “HOME” debuted at No. 1 on the World Albums chart, in addition to becoming their first album to enter the top 20 of the Billboard 200.

CORTIS’s latest EP “GREENGREEN” stayed strong at No. 2 in its seventh week on the World Albums chart, and it also became their first album to spend six weeks on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, the group’s debut EP “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” followed at No. 5 in its 41st week on the World Albums chart.

LE SSERAFIM’s “PUREFLOW” held steady at No. 3 in its fourth week on the World Albums chart, while aespa’s “LEMONADE” took No. 4 in its third week and ILLIT’s “MAMIHLAPINATAPAI” climbed back up to No. 6 in its seventh week.

BTS’s 2022 anthology album “Proof” rose to No. 7 in its 210th week on the chart, and their 2020 Japanese album “Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~” jumped to No. 16 in its 33rd week.

Meanwhile, TXT’s “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” climbed back up to No. 8 in its 10th week on the chart.

Stray Kids once again landed a total of three albums on the World Albums chart this week. “KARMA” came in at No. 9 (in its 43rd week on the chart), “DO IT” at No. 10 (in its 30th week), and “ATE” at No. 25 (in its 99th week).

ITZY’s latest mini album “Motto” re-entered the World Albums chart at No. 12, marking its second non-consecutive week on the chart.

Finally, ENHYPEN’s “THE SIN : VANISH” took No. 18 in its 22nd week on the chart, followed by NewJeans’ “Get Up” at No. 19 (in its 145th week) and MEOVV’s “BITE NOW” at No. 20 (in its second week).

tvN’s upcoming drama “My Bias, My Boss” has shared a glimpse of its first script reading session!

Based on a webtoon, “My Bias, My Boss” tells the story of the romance between Nam Da Reum, who joins a company to meet her long-time bias, and the company’s boss Kang Ha Gi.

The script reading brought together directors Park Ji Hyun and Jung Da Hyeong, writers Lee Young and Kim Ji An, and the cast including Kang Hoon, Kim Hye Joon, Cha Woo Min, and ITZY’s Yuna. From the outset, the cast immersed themselves in their respective characters, coordinating their performances amid cheerful laughter.

IVE maintained their position at the top of the list with a brand reputation index of 6,025,982, marking a 29.21 percent increase in their score since May.

High-ranking phrases in IVE’s keyword analysis included “LUCID DREAM,” “Jang Won Young,” and “world tour,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “lovely,” “extend,” and “record.” The group’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 92.59 percent positive reactions.

BLACKPINK remained unmoving at second place with a brand reputation index of 5,651,105, marking a 43.28 percent rise in their score since last month.

ILLIT also held onto their spot at third place with a brand reputation index of 3,830,314, marking a 14.30 percent increase in their score since May.

aespa jumped to fourth place after seeing an 18.08 percent rise in their brand reputation index, bringing their score to 3,177,356 for June.

Finally, TWICE rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 2,812,048, marking a 3.44 percent increase in their score since May.

LE SSERAFIM, CORTIS, TXT, xikers, ITZY, BTS, ILLIT, ENHYPEN, Stray Kids, And More Sweep Top Spots On Billboard World Albums Chart

Billboard has published its World Albums chart for the week ending on June 7!

LE SSERAFIM’s new album “PUREFLOW” pt.1 debuted at No. 1 on this week’s World Albums chart, and it also became their fifth album to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.

After two weeks at No. 1, CORTIS’s latest EP “GREENGREEN” fell to No. 2 in its fourth week on the World Albums chart, in addition to becoming their first album ever to spend three weeks in the top 50 of the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, CORTIS’s debut EP “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” rose to No. 8 in its 38th week on the chart.

TXT’s latest mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” climbed back up to No. 3 in its seventh week on the World Albums chart.

Meanwhile, xikers’ new mini album “ROUTE ZERO : The ORA” debuted at No. 4 on this week’s chart.

BTS landed a total three of entries on the World Albums chart this week: “Proof” came in at No. 5 (in its 207th week on the chart), “Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~” at No. 17 (in its 30th week), and “Love Yourself: Tear” at No. 21 (in its 218th week).

ILLIT’s latest mini album “MAMIHLAPINATAPAI” held steady at No. 6 in its fourth week on the chart.

Despite not having yet been released in the United States, ITZY’s new mini album “Motto” debuted at No. 7 based solely on its digital performance. (Because “Motto” has yet to be released in the United States, sales data for the physical version of the album is not reflected in this week’s charts.)

ENHYPEN’s latest mini album “THE SIN : VANISH” maintained its position at No. 9 in its 19th week on the chart.

Stray Kids’ “DO IT” took No. 10 in its 27th week on the chart, while their previous album “KARMA” climbed back up to No. 15 in its 40th week.

NMIXX’s new EP “Heavy Serenade” ranked No. 13 in its third week on the chart, followed by &TEAM’s “We on Fire” at No. 14 in its second week.

Finally, NewJeans’ 2023 EP “Get Up” rounded out the top 20 in its 142nd week on the chart.

Circle Chart has revealed its chart rankings for the week of May 17 to 23!

Album Chart

This week’s physical album chart was dominated by new releases, with LE SSERAFIM’s new album “PUREFLOW” pt.1 debuting at the top of the chart.

ZEROBASEONE’s first mini album as a five-member group, “Ascend-,” debuted at No. 2 on the chart, while NCT’s Taeyong’s first full-length solo album “WYLD” debuted at No. 3.

ITZY’s new mini album “Motto” entered the chart at No. 4, and xikers’ new mini album “ROUTE ZERO : The ORA” rounded the top five.

CORTIS achieved a double crown on this week’s Circle charts, topping both the overall digital chart and the streaming chart with their hit song “REDRED.”

The top five songs on this week’s overall digital chart and streaming chart were exactly the same: CORTIS’s “REDRED” rose to No. 1 on both charts, followed by ILLIT’s “It’s Me” at No. 2, AKMU’s “Paradise of Rumors” at No. 3, AKMU’s “Joy, Sorrow, A Beautiful Heart” at No. 4, and Hearts2Hearts’ “RUDE!” at No. 5.

BTS also earned a double crown on the latest Circle charts, topping both the global K-pop chart and the social chart for the week.

The top four songs on this week’s global K-pop chart remained the same as last week: BTS’s “SWIM” continued its reign at No. 1, trailed by HUNTR/X’s “Golden” (from the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack) at No. 2, CORTIS’s “REDRED” at No. 3, and ILLIT’s “It’s Me” at No. 4.

Finally, BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Bruno Mars’ hit collab “APT.” climbed back up to No. 5 this week.
