August Individual Idol Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for individual idols!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of 1,735 idols, using big data collected from July 19 to August 19.

RESCENE’s Woni held onto her spot at the top of the list this month with a brand reputation index of 6,951,891, marking a 27.93 percent increase in her score since July. High-ranking phrases in her keyword analysis included “Pretty Girl” and “oishii,” while her highest-ranking related terms included “sunny,” “likable,” and “pretty.” Woni’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 93.47 percent positive reactions.

BTS’s Jimin maintained his position at second place with a brand reputation index of 5,339,944, marking a 10.12 percent rise in his score since last month.

IVE’s Jang Won Young took third place with a brand reputation index of 4,694,131, marking a 15.23 percent increase in her score since July.

BTS’s Jungkook came in at a close fourth with a brand reputation index of 4,614,619, marking a 4.89 percent rise in his score since last month.

Finally, BLACKPINK’s Jennie rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 4,350,624, marking a 7.06 percent increase in her score since July.

RESCENE’s Woni held onto her spot at the top of the list this month with a brand reputation index of 8,123,817, marking a 2.02 percent rise in her score since July. High-ranking phrases in her keyword analysis included “LOVE ATTACK” and “REMINE,” while her highest-ranking related terms included “down-to-earth,” “familiar,” and “root for.” Woni’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 93.52 percent positive reactions.

Meanwhile, IVE’s Jang Won Young maintained her position at second place with a brand reputation index of 6,261,001 for August.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie rose to third place with a brand reputation index of 5,826,161, marking a 16.88 percent increase in her score since last month.

aespa’s Karina came in at a close fourth with a brand reputation index of 5,761,938, marking a 2.55 percent rise in her score since July.

TWICE’s Jeongyeon Personally Confirms Departure From JYP + Signs With VARO Entertainment

TWICE’s Jeongyeon will be parting ways with her longtime agency JYP Entertainment.

On August 10, Jeongyeon personally took to Instagram to share a handwritten letter and announce her departure from JYP Entertainment.

Following her announcement, VARO Entertainment announced the same day that they signed an exclusive contract with the artist. The agency shared, “We are sincerely happy to create a special connection with Yu Jeongyeon, who has diverse charms and limitless potential. We deeply resonated with Yu Jeongyeon’s authentic attitude and sincerity toward acting.” They added, “With the global presence Yu Jungyeon has built over a long time as an artist as foundation, we will become a reliable partner who provides unwavering support in various ways so that she can take on new challenges as an actress while also continuing her group activities smoothly.”

Hello, this is Jeongyeon.

After giving a lot of thought to how to express my feelings, I am sharing this letter with you all.
JYP has been my second home since my teenage years; a place where I’ve spent so much time and created so many cherished memories.
I am now preparing to start a new chapter in a new place.

Leaving a place that feels so familiar to me was daunting at first, but I was able to find the courage thanks to my members and our ONCE who have always believed in me.
I am deeply grateful to my members and ONCE; words cannot fully express my gratitude. I am also very grateful to the JYP family who helped me grow into the person I am today.

The one thing I truly want to tell ONCE is that even though I am moving on to a new chapter to take on new challenges, TWICE, the center of my life, will remain unchanged, just as it is now. Standing before ONCE as a member of TWICE will always be my very first priority.

TWICE’s Jeongyeon In Talks To Sign With New Agency + JYP Entertainment Briefly Comments

TWICE member Jeongyeon is in discussions to sign with VARO Entertainment.

On June 24, a media outlet reported that Jeongyeon recently held a meeting with VARO Entertainment, the agency to which her older sister and actress Gong Seung Yeon belong.

A representative of VARO Entertainment confirmed, “It is true that we recently held a meeting with Jeongyeon.” However, regarding an exclusive contract, they stated, “Nothing has been decided.”

Her current agency JYP Entertainment also commented, “TWICE is currently in a period of contract renewal discussions, and we are proceeding with careful deliberations while respecting the mutual intentions of the members.”

Jeongyeon debuted as a member of TWICE in 2015 through the Mnet audition program “SIXTEEN.” Recently, she was cast in the film “New Recruit: The Movie,” marking her upcoming screen debut. It is reported that Jeongyeon plays the role of a nursing officer in the film.

Meanwhile, VARO Entertainment is home to actors such as Byeon Woo Seok, Jin Goo, Lee Chae Min, and more.

Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters” has released a music video for TWICE’s version of “TAKEDOWN”!

On June 20 local time, Netflix unveiled an official live music video for TWICE’s Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung’s version of “TAKEDOWN,” which is sung by the fictional girl group HUNTR/X in the animated film “KPop Demon Hunters.”

The new music video combines clips from the movie with footage from Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung’s live performance at TWICE’s “THIS IS FOR” concert in Los Angeles earlier this year.
