Park Ji Hyun Joins Lee Jong Suk In Talks For New Mystery Crime Drama

Park Ji Hyun may be teaming up with Lee Jong Suk in the upcoming drama “Paradise” (literal title)!

On July 16, IZE reported that Park Ji Hyun has been cast as the female lead in “Paradise,” a new drama written by Kim Su Jin.

In response to the report, Park Ji Hyun’s agency Namoo Actors commented, “It is one of the projects she is currently reviewing.”

“Paradise” follows the story of reporter Kang Chi Young and police officer Cha Jung Won, who become entangled in an unimaginable incident and set out to uncover long-hidden secrets and the truth behind the case.

Lee Jong Suk is currently in talks to star as the male lead Kang Chi Young, while Park Ji Hyun has reportedly been offered the role of Cha Jung Won. Together, the reporter and detective will investigate the mystery at the heart of the story.

“Paradise” is a new project by writer Kim Su Jin, who penned the drama “Beyond Evil” starring Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo and won Best Drama and Best Screenplay at the 2021 Baeksang Arts Awards.

The drama will be helmed by producing director Oh Choong Hwan of “Start-Up,” “While You Were Sleeping,” “Big Mouth,” and more.

Lee Jin Uk may star in the upcoming drama “Unnatural” (literal title) alongside Girls’ Generation’s Lim Yoona!

Previously on May 9, Lim Yoona was reported to star in the Korean remake of the Japanese series “Unnatural.” Her agency, SM Entertainment, responded to the report on the same day, stating, “Lim Yoona received an offer to appear in ‘Unnatural’ and is positively reviewing it.”

On July 15, a media outlet reported that Lee Jin Uk is also in positive discussions regarding his appearance in the drama “Unnatural.” His agency BH Entertainment responded to the report, stating, “Lee Jin Uk is positively reviewing his appearance in ‘Unnatural.’”

“Unnatural” is a mystery medical drama about forensic pathologists who uncover the truth behind cases hidden within unnatural deaths. Originally a Japanese series, it swept Japanese drama awards and was recognized for its commercial success and quality. The Korean remake will be directed by Park Yoo Young, who helmed “The Kidnapping Day” and “Ms. Incognito.”

In the drama, Lim Yoona is in talks to play UDI forensic doctor Im Do Eun. She has sharp eyes, a bright smile, and a gentle yet resilient personality. As a forensic doctor who emerged as a sensation in the field, she is known for her remarkable appetite, quick temper, and unwavering persistence. Thanks to her naturally cheerful and upright personality, she maintains good relationships with many people.

Meanwhile, Lee Jin Uk is in talks to play Im Do Eun’s fellow forensic doctor, Koo Seung Hyuk. Koo Seung Hyuk, who has a tragic backstory, is known as a forensic doctor who sets emotions aside and focuses solely on evidence.

ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Dream to You” has premiered!

According to Nielsen Korea, the premiere episode of ENA’s new drama “Dream to You” garnered an average nationwide viewership rating of 2.7 percent.

“Dream to You” is a romantic comedy about the reunion of genius film director Woo Soo Bin (Hwang In Youp), who returns after achieving his dreams, and reporter Joo Yi Jae (Hyeri), who has forgotten her own.

Meanwhile, episode 7 of tvN’s “See You at Work Tomorrow!” earned an average nationwide rating of 4.1 percent. This is a 0.2 percent decrease from its previous episode’s rating of 4.3 percent.

LE SSERAFIM has joined the lineup for the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival!

On June 30 local time, iHeartMedia announced that LE SSERAFIM had been newly added to the lineup for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival.

BTS was previously confirmed to be headlining the two-day festival, which will be held on September 18 and 19 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

LE SSERAFIM will be performing on Day 2 of the festival (September 19), while BTS will be taking the stage on Day 1 (September 18).

Other performers in this year’s lineup include Benson Boone, Cardi B, Goo Goo Dolls, Kenny Chesney, Lainey Wilson, Major Lazer, Muse, Snoop Dogg, Weezer, and Zara Larsson.

Kang Mina may star in the upcoming rom-com drama “Protect Me” (literal title) alongside Bae In Hyuk!

On June 9, a media outlet reported that Kang Mina will star as the female lead in the new drama “Protect Me.”

In response to the report, her agency Story J Company shared, “Kang Mina received an offer to appear in the new drama ‘Protect Me’ and is positively reviewing it.”

Based on a webtoon, “Protect Me” is an office romantic comedy about a former national team detective who doesn’t trust herself and infiltrates a company as the secretary to a third-generation chaebol heir who doesn’t trust others, leading the two distrustful individuals to protect and save each other.

Kang Mina has reportedly been offered the role of Kang Hae Ra, a detective sergeant on the violent crimes squad. Previously in May, it was reported that Bae In Hyuk is in talks to play the male lead.

Seo Hyun Woo Joins Ma Dong Seok And Kim Jae Yeong In “The Roundup 5”

Seo Hyun Woo will be joining the cast of the fifth installment of “The Roundup” series!

On May 18, a representative from his agency JUST Entertainment confirmed, “Seo Hyun Woo will appear in ‘The Roundup 5.’”

Previously, Ma Dong Seok and Kim Jae Yeong were confirmed to star in the film, which is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of this year.

Seo Hyun Woo has steadily built a strong filmography through projects including “Veteran,” “A Taxi Driver,” “My Mister,” “Flower of Evil,” “Uncle Samsik,” “A Shop for Killers,” and “The Fiery Priest 2.” This year, he also impressed viewers through the ENA dramas “Honour” and “Climax.”

“The Roundup” series is Korea’s longest-running action franchise centered on detective Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok) as he takes down various criminal organizations. Beginning with the first film “The Outlaws” in 2017, the franchise continued with “The Roundup,” “The Roundup: No Way Out,” and “The Roundup: Punishment.”

Comedian Kim Shin Young will be joining JTBC’s flagship variety show “Ask Us Anything” (also known as “Knowing Bros”) as a new permanent cast member!

On April 30, the production team of JTBC’s “Ask Us Anything” released an official statement, announcing, “We have selected Kim Shin Young as a new permanent member.” They further emphasized, “Kim Heechul will be taking a break for the time being due to health reasons,” while clarifying that this is not his departure from the show.

Since “Ask Us Anything” first aired in December 2015, this marks the first time in approximately 10 years that a female entertainer has joined as a permanent member.
