Ryu Seung Ryong And Ha Ji Won’s Lives Take A Drastic Turn After The Arrival Of His Daughter In “Portrait Of A Family”

The upcoming film “Portrait of a Family” has unveiled new character posters!

“Portrait of a Family” is a family chronicle that follows top star couple Jung Gu (Ryu Seung Ryong) and Nam Mi (Ha Ji Won). After their marriage falls apart due to the sudden appearance of Jung Gu’s daughter Dong Ju (Kim Si Ah), the film picks up eight years later, depicting the couple’s desperate pursuit of the truth to save Dong Ju after she becomes embroiled in a shocking incident.

The newly released character posters feature characters who each carry their own wounds and stories. Jung Gu, once a successful baseball player whose relationship with Nam Mi fell apart following Dong Ju’s arrival, stares into the distance on a rain-soaked alley. The caption, “No matter what happens, I’ll protect you,” paired with his determined expression, raises curiosity about what choices he will make for Dong Ju.

Nam Mi, who once enjoyed a glamorous life as a top star, has undergone a complete transformation following the collapse of her marriage. With her disheveled hair and vacant gaze, she gives off a fragile and troubled air. The caption, “It hurts because when I look at you, I see myself,” hints at the deep wounds Nam Mi carries after falling from the top and the complicated emotions she harbors toward Dong Ju.

Surrounded by her classmates, Dong Ju pleads her innocence, saying, “No, it wasn’t me. It really wasn’t.” Her desperate appearance raises further questions about what truly happened in the incident that unfolds eight years later.

Jung Gu’s family members also step up to support him in their own ways. His mother Gi Sik (Kim Hae Sook) expresses her deep love for her family, saying, “That’s the thing about family—they make you willing to risk everything.”

His older sister Ji Sook (Kim Sun Young) comforts Jung Gu with, “Don’t let this break you. That’s what family is there for,” while his brother-in-law Sung Myung (Kim Young Min) reassures him, “Don’t worry. We’ll find [it/them], no matter what,” becoming a steadfast ally to Jung Gu and Dong Ju.

“Portrait of a Family” is set to hit theaters on September 2. Stay tuned!

Park Eun Bin And Kim Hae Sook Go Up Against Sinister Superpowered Trio In “The WONDERfools”

Netflix’s upcoming series “The WONDERfools” has unveiled new stills ahead of its premiere!

“The WONDERfools” is a superpower comic action set in 1999, a time when apocalyptic beliefs were rampant. It follows a group of neighborhood misfits who unexpectedly gain superpowers and fight against villains threatening the peace of Haeseong City.

First, the newly released still of Kim Jeon Bok (Kim Hae Sook) warmly embracing her beloved granddaughter Eun Chae Ni (Park Eun Bin) highlights the grandmother’s deep affection for her only grandchild. Determined to keep Chae Ni safe no matter the danger, Jeon Bok appears to be a caring grandmother who simply wants her granddaughter to stay healthy and happy. However, she also harbors a surprising past as the notorious “King Jeon Bok,” a legendary loan shark who once dominated Myeongdong’s underground money-lending world.

Meanwhile, a still of Ha Won Do (Son Hyun Joo) inside an underground laboratory sparks curiosity about the mysterious new project he may be planning after returning to Haeseong City. As the former head of the secret “Wunderkinder Project,” which researched superpowers in the past, Ha Won Do exudes a chilling presence. His cold gaze—appearing as though he is threatening someone while concealing countless secrets—hints at the danger he may bring to the city.

The newly released stills also spotlight the three “Wunderkinder” who gained superpowers after being experimented on by Ha Won Do, whom they call “father”: Seok Joo Ran (Jung Yi Seo), Seok Ho Ran (Choi Yoon Ji), and Kim Pal Ho (Bae Na Ra).

Seok Joo Ran’s unreadable expression draws attention to her brainwashing abilities, which allow her to manipulate anyone at will, leaving viewers wondering exactly who she has set her sights on.

Meanwhile, Seok Ho Ran—who possesses the power to create hallucinations—captures attention with one glowing white eye, adding to the mystery surrounding both her abilities and the consequences they may bring.

Finally, Kim Pal Ho, the de facto leader of the Wunderkinder with the ability to control gravity, is expected to inject even more unpredictability into the story as he actively carries out Ha Won Do’s sinister plans.

4 Reasons To Look Forward To Lim Ji Yeon And Heo Nam Jun’s Upcoming Drama “My Royal Nemesis”

Upcoming drama “My Royal Nemesis” has revealed four key reasons why viewers should be excited for its premiere!

“My Royal Nemesis” is a romantic comedy starring Lim Ji Yeon as Shin Seo Ri, a struggling actress who is suddenly possessed by the spirit of a notorious villainess from the Joseon era. Heo Nam Jun stars as Cha Se Gye, a ruthless chaebol heir who is known as a “monster created by capitalism.”

Ahead of its premiere, here are four reasons to look forward to the drama:

The chemistry between Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun

The most-anticipated aspect of the drama is the pairing of Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun. From their very first meeting, where they literally duel with flowers, the two are expected to thrill viewers with their unprecedented bickering chemistry.

Expectations are high for the chaotic synergy between Joseon villainess Shin Seo Ri and infamous chaebol Cha Se Gye, whom she encounters after crash-landing in the 21st century. Viewers are also looking forward to the romance that will develop between the two characters.

Lim Ji Yeon’s shocking transformation and first comedic acting challenge

“My Royal Nemesis” marks Lim Ji Yeon’s first comedy acting after previously delivering intense performances in “The Glory” and “The Tale of Lady Ok.” As an “18th-century Confucian woman” suddenly thrust into the 21st century, she will showcase both the heartbreaking struggles of adapting to modern life and the bold, satisfying charm of a Joseon-era woman who says whatever is on her mind without holding back.

The flawless performances of the supporting cast

The drama boasts an impressive supporting cast, from Jang Seung Jo, who plays Cha Moon Do, a man aiming to become the successor of Cha Il Group, to Kim Min Seok, who stars as Baek Gwang Nam, the job seeker living next door who unexpectedly becomes connected to Seo Ri, and Lee Se Hee, who portrays top star Yoon Ji Hyo, Seo Ri’s one-and-only rival.

Chae Seo An plays Mo Tae Hee, Se Gye’s mysterious blind date, while Kim Hae Sook plays Nam Ok Soon, Seo Ri’s only family member and grandmother, bringing emotional warmth to the story. Stefanie Michova will also add fun and freshness to the drama.

Thrilling ending scenes in every episode

Viewers can also look forward to the thrilling ending scenes in every episode. Director Han Tae Seob, who helmed the drama, expressed confidence, stating, “Once you see the ending scene of each episode, you’ll definitely want to watch the next one.”

The thrilling endings will gradually unravel the tangled threads connecting Seo Ri and Se Gye’s fates, keeping viewers completely captivated.

“My Royal Nemesis” is set to premiere on May 8 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
