Kim Min Ho And His Fellow Recruits Stand Before An Eerie Military Hospital In “New Recruit” Film Adaptation Poster

Drama series “New Recruit” has expanded its universe to the big screen!

“New Recruit The Movie: Ghosts Live in the Military Hospital” (literal translation) follows a group of recruits who are admitted to a military hospital dreaming of a sweet respite, only to encounter horrifying rumors about the hospital they believed was paradise and set out to uncover its secrets.

Based on a hit animation, the “New Recruit” drama series is a black comedy drama that explores the lives of young adults in their 20s, delving into the culture, secrets, and absurdities of South Korea’s military. Since its first season aired in 2022, the series has built a solid fandom and expanded into four seasons.

Across its four seasons, the “New Recruit” drama series has depicted various episodes of military life centered around military units. The film, however, shifts the setting to a military hospital while continuing the characters and universe of the existing series. The film will be directed by Min Jin Ki, who helmed the recently concluded “New Recruit 4: Sabotage.”

The shift to a military hospital is also reflected in the newly released launch poster, which features the recruits standing in front of the ominous-looking Armed Forces Yangcheon Hospital. Among those staring at the military hospital, only Park Min Seok (Kim Min Ho) looks back with a meaningful facial expression, heightening curiosity about the events they will encounter at the hospital. The tagline reads, “A blockbuster-scale horror comedy is coming.”

Building on the series’ signature comedy and realistic portrayal of military life, the film seeks to shake things up by combining the existing “New Recruit” series’ comedic elements with the horror genre.

New characters are also joining the cast. Ryu Kyung Soo plays Yoo Jae Hoon, a mysterious soldier admitted to the military hospital. TWICE’s Yu Jeongyeon stars as nursing officer Yoo Jeong Yeon, marking her first screen acting role since her debut.

“New Recruit The Movie: Ghosts Live in the Military Hospital” will be released in theaters this winter. Stay tuned!

Kim Dong Jun, Lee Jung Hyun, And More Enjoy Their First Group Leave In “New Recruit 4: Sabotage”

“New Recruit 4: Sabotage” has teased an ominous incident!

Based on the hit animation of the same name, “New Recruit” is a black comedy drama that explores the lives of young adults in their 20s, delving into the culture, secrets, and absurdities of South Korea’s military.

Season 4 depicts the second half of Park Min Seok’s (Kim Min Ho) dynamic military life as he is promoted to corporal and finds himself facing endless new dilemmas. Just when he thought things would settle after his promotion, the arrival of a mysterious new recruit and a new battalion commander signals the start of a turbulent new chapter.

The newly released photos capture the members of Platoon 3 enjoying their group leave. Faces like Kang Chan Seok (Lee Jung Hyun), Choi Byung Nam (Kim Hee Soo), and Kim Dong Woo (Jang Sung Bum), led by Jeon Se Gye (Kim Dong Jun), are beaming with joy as they roam the streets.

As this is their first group leave earned only after overcoming all sorts of crises, their excitement—as if they own the world—adds a sense of delight. It also sparks curiosity about what kind of special day they will spend away from the barracks.

However, the subsequent photos show a Company 2 atmosphere completely devoid of laughter, signaling something serious. The grim facial expressions of Moon Bit Nari (Kim Yo Han) and Jeon Se Gye, who appear deep in thought unlike their usual selves, clearly convey the gravity of the situation.

Kim Min Ho And Lee Won Jung’s Conflict Traces Back To Their Boot Camp Days In “New Recruit 4”

Kim Min Ho’s hidden past involving Lee Won Jung will be revealed on tonight’s episode of “New Recruit 4: Sabotage”!

Spoilers

In the previous episode, Park Min Seok, who had long suspected Kim Hyun Wook’s (Lee Won Jung) suspicious behavior, finally reached his breaking point. In the end, his confrontation with Kim Hyun Wook even escalated into a heated physical altercation.

The newly released photos shed light on the boot camp days that planted the seeds of the conflict between Park Min Seok and Kim Hyun Wook. While Kim Hyun Wook maintains a perfectly disciplined posture, Park Min Seok stands frozen in nervous confusion, highlighting their starkly different personalities. The images of the two rolling through mud also offer a glimpse into the grueling training they endured.

Kim Hyun Wook has displayed suspicious behavior since transferring to Shinhwa Unit, repeatedly putting Park Min Seok in difficult situations. Now that it has been revealed that their troubled history dates back to boot camp rather than beginning in the present, it remains to be seen what exactly happened between them back then.

Other photos also capture the soldiers in Platoon 3 waging a desperate battle against smoking cessation in hopes of earning group leave. Choi Byung Nam (Kim Hee Soo) appears to be suffering severe withdrawal symptoms as he frantically charges toward somewhere as though he has been completely drained of his soul. Choi Il Goo (Nam Tae Woo) and Im Sung Min (Nam Min Woo) add to the comedy as they scramble to stop the out-of-control Choi Byung Nam.

Earlier, Platoon 3 was selected as a model unit for smoking cessation, putting the sweet reward of group leave within reach. However, as time passes, unexpected withdrawal symptoms begin popping up throughout the platoon, creating a new crisis. Whether the members of Platoon 3 can successfully quit smoking and secure their group leave will be another key point to watch.

The production team commented, “In the upcoming Episode 5, the story of Park Min Seok and Kim Hyun Wook’s days at boot camp will finally be revealed. Please look forward to their hidden past.” They added, “Please also look forward to Jo Baek Ho’s (Oh Dae Hwan) fate as he finds himself in a crisis, as well as the tearful survival story of Platoon 3 as they embark on a grueling battle to quit smoking.”

Byun Yo Han, Roh Jae Won, And More Go All In For A High-Stakes Game Of Revenge In “Tazza 4: The Song Of Beelzebub”

The upcoming film “Tazza 4: The Song of Beelzebub” has unveiled two main posters!

Returning with a new chapter after six years, “Tazza 4: The Song of Beelzebub” follows Jang Tae Young (Byun Yo Han), who thought he had everything after building a thriving online casino empire, until his best friend Park Tae Young (Roh Jae Won) takes it all away. When fate reunites them in the world of global gambling, the former friends face off in a high-stakes game of revenge.

Both newly released posters prominently feature a striking red color scheme. Paired with the characters’ serious expressions and intense gazes, the visuals hint at the fierce battle that will unfold at a gambling table with enormous sums of money at stake.

The first poster frames the main characters within an ace of spades card, with Jang Tae Young and Park Tae Young positioned at opposite ends and looking away from each other. Since the spade has long been associated with the devil, the imagery ties into one of the film’s central questions: which of the two will become the devil?

Between them is the phrase, “The friend I trusted most became the cruelest hand,” further raising curiosity about the events that drove the two former friends apart.

Kaneko (Ayaka Miyoshi) stands between Jang Tae Young and Park Tae Young, staring straight ahead with a cool, unreadable expression. As the character who orchestrates the high-stakes game, she adds another layer of tension to the poster.

The surrounding characters include Tazza Kwak Dong Wook (Jo Woo Jin), who teaches Jang Tae Young about life, and Jo Joong Hwan (Yoon Kyung Ho), a hitman who holds the power to determine the fates of Jang Tae Young and Park Tae Young.

The second poster features an even larger lineup of key characters. Against the vivid red backdrop, Jang Tae Young and Park Tae Young face each other, with Sasaki (Tsuyoshi Ihara), a businessman with ties to the yakuza, and Chairwoman Thao (Hong Dao), a powerful figure from Vietnam, positioned between them.

Jo Joong Hwan also appears pointing a gun, alongside Ha Ma (Kim Min Ho) and Jang Tae Hee (Im Se Mi), who have remained by the sides of the two Tae Youngs.

Numerous chips and stacks of cash line the bottom of the poster, emphasizing the enormous scale of the showdown. More than just a gambling match, the high-stakes game threatens to upend the characters’ lives and fates.
