The music video for “APT.” by Rosé and Bruno Mars surpassed 2.5 billion views on May 25 at approximately 11 p.m. KST. This is about one year, seven months, and seven days since its release on October 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. KST.
“APT.” is the fastest music video by an Asian act and the fifth fastest music video overall, following the music videos for Louis Fonsi’s “Despacito,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” and Justin Bieber’s “Sorry.”
2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer Announces Date And Venue
Get ready for the return of SBS’s Gayo Daejeon Summer!
On May 25, SBS officially announced that the 2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer will take place on August 9 at KINTEX in Goyang.
First launched in 1996, SBS Gayo Daejeon had traditionally been held as a year-end music festival since 2007, usually around Christmas. However, beginning in 2024, SBS expanded the event into a biannual festival format by launching the first-ever summer edition.

BTS’s “ARIRANG” Becomes 1st Album By Korean Artist To Spend 9 Weeks In Top 10 Of Billboard 200
BTS’s “ARIRANG” has extended its own record on the Billboard 200!
On May 24 local time, Billboard announced that BTS’s latest album “ARIRANG” had ranked No. 10 in its ninth consecutive week on the Top 200 Albums chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States.
“ARIRANG” is now the first album by a Korean artist ever to spend nine weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. After debuting at No. 1 back in March, “ARIRANG” spent its first three weeks at the top of the chart and has held steady in the top 10 for every week since.
According to Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music), “ARIRANG” earned a total of 42,000 equivalent album units during the week ending on May 21.

BTS’s “Heartbeat” is their latest music video to hit the 100 million mark!
On May 25 at approximately 8:06 a.m. KST, BTS’s music video for their 2019 song “Heartbeat” surpassed 100 million views on YouTube.
BTS first released “Heartbeat” as part of the soundtrack for their interactive game BTS WORLD on June 28, 2019 at 6 p.m. KST, meaning that it took the music video around six years, 10 months, and 26 days to reach the milestone.

&TEAM, RIIZE, TXT, And More Earn Platinum And Gold Certifications In Japan
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
This month, &TEAM’s new Japanese EP “We on Fire” earned an official triple platinum certification for over 750,000 units shipped in Japan. According to the RIAJ’s certification thresholds, albums are certified gold at 100,000 units shipped and platinum at 250,000.
Meanwhile, RIIZE’s latest Japanese single album “All of You” was certified double platinum for over 500,000 units shipped in Japan.
TXT’s new Korean mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” was certified platinum for over 250,000 units shipped in Japan.
Finally, both NiziU’s new Japanese EP “GOOD GIRL BUT NOT FOR YOU” and aoen’s latest Japanese single album “INSTANT CRUSH” were certified gold for over 100,000 units shipped in Japan each.

BIGBANG’s Taeyang Triples His 1st-Week Sales Record With “QUINTESSENCE”
BIGBANG’s Taeyang is soaring to new heights with his latest album!
Last week, Taeyang made his long-awaited solo comeback with his new album “QUINTESSENCE” and its title track “LIVE FAST DIE SLOW” on May 18. By the end of the day, the album had already sold over 26,000 copies, smashing Taeyang’s previous first-week sales record of 16,427 set by his 2023 EP “Down to Earth” on just its first day of sales alone.
Hanteo Chart has now reported that “QUINTESSENCE” sold a total of 56,985 copies in the first week of its release (May 18 to 24), more than tripling Taeyang’s previous record.

Billboard has published its World Albums chart for the week ending on May 23!
CORTIS’s new EP “GREENGREEN” jumped to No. 1 on this week’s World Albums chart, in addition to becoming their first album to enter the top 10 of the Billboard 200. CORTIS’s debut EP “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” also held steady at No. 6 in its 36th week on the World Albums chart.
After debuting at No. 1 last week, ILLIT’s new mini album “MAMIHLAPINATAPAI” fell to No. 2 in its second week on the World Albums chart.
BTS landed a total of four albums on this week’s chart: “Proof” climbed back up to No. 3 in its 205th week on the chart, followed by “Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~” at No. 11 (in its 28th week), “Love Yourself: Tear” at No. 16 (in its 216th week), and “Love Yourself: Her” at No. 25 (in its 182nd week).
TXT’s latest mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” stayed strong at No. 4 in its fifth week on the chart.
ENHYPEN’s latest mini album “THE SIN : VANISH” took No. 7 in its 17th week on the chart, while their 2024 album “ROMANCE : UNTOLD” climbed back up to No. 23 in its 96th week.
Stray Kids charted three albums this week: “DO IT” rose to No. 8 in its 25th week on the chart, with “KARMA” coming in at No. 19 (in its 38th week) and “ATE” holding steady at No. 22 (in its 95th week).
Meanwhile, NewJeans’ “Get Up” rounded out its 140th week on the chart at No. 15.
BABYMONSTER’s new mini album “CHOOM” debuted at No. 18 this week, while NMIXX’s new mini album “Heavy Serenade” entered the chart at No. 24.

Get ready for a fun episode of JTBC’s “Knowing Bros” (“Ask Us Anything”) featuring Yena, along with AND2BLE’s Zhang Hao and Han Yu Jin!
On May 23, the popular variety show aired a sneak peek of its upcoming episode, which will feature Cristina, Yena, Zhang Hao, and Han Yu Jin as guests.
Zhang Hao and Han Yu Jin, who previously belonged to the “BOYS PLANET” project group ZEROBASEONE and are currently gearing up to debut in the new boy group AND2BLE, are labelmates with Yena under YH Entertainment (formerly Yuehua Entertainment).
In the newly released preview, Yena and Zhang Hao both attempt to imitate Cristina’s famous manner of speech, with Yena trying to do an impression of Cristina while singing her hit song “Catch Catch.”
Later, Zhang Hao recalls that there were times during his trainee days where things got so hard that he wanted to go back to China. Yena then shares that “back in my day,” she was actually more worried that the company would send her home and would plead, “Please don’t send me home. I’ll work hard.” Amused, Seo Jang Hoon asks about their age difference, and Yena is surprised to learn that she’s only one year older than Zhang Hao.
Next, Han Yu Jin reveals that he used to play soccer when he was a child. Referring to his handsome looks, he goes on to recall that he was told, “Why would you play soccer with that face?” Lee Soo Geun makes everyone laugh by joking, “You must not have been good at soccer.”
When Zhang Hao remarks, “You can only make a living off of your looks until age 35,” Han Yu Jin responds, “I still have 15 years left, though.”
