Sakaguchi Kentaro plays Niide Toshiro, a Tokyo detective with a strong sense of justice and a resolute inner strength. While pursuing a case as a detective, he becomes personally involved when his wife is kidnapped. Even as his family is placed in danger, he continues to uncover the truth behind the kidnapping and closes in on those behind it.

Lee Joon Gi transforms into Han Ki Joo, a doctor in Seoul. Han Ki Joo’s ordinary life is also shattered when his daughter is kidnapped. Desperate to save her, he is forced to follow the harsh rules set by the kidnapper and repeatedly makes extreme choices in an effort to save his family.

The director of the upcoming drama “kiDnap GAME” has shared more insights into the series.

“kiDnap GAME” is a thriller centered on an unprecedented kidnapping case that unfolds simultaneously across seven Asian cities—Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Naha, and Manila. The story follows seven individuals who are each given different missions and forced into a deadly survival game, where they must complete their assignments before anyone else in order to save their loved ones and survive.

Ahead of the drama’s premiere, director Yusuke Kato, who helmed the series, personally introduced the project, from its starting point to the chemistry between its two leads.

Director Yusuke Kato explained, “Kidnappings occur simultaneously in seven Asian cities, and mysterious messages are sent to the victims’ families, marking the beginning of a brutal survival game.” He continued, “The question of ‘How far would you go to save someone you love?’ runs throughout the entire series.”

The choices made by the participants are also a key element that drives the story. Director Yusuke Kato explained that even seemingly insignificant choices can lead to irreversible consequences in unexpected ways, adding that the series captures the choices and beliefs of people pushed into extreme situations.

He also expressed satisfaction with Sakaguchi Kentaro and Lee Joon Gi’s chemistry. “Their chemistry was excellent,” he said. “Both actors genuinely care about the set and have an incredible passion for acting, so they openly exchanged ideas and shared positive energy with each other.”

The newly released poster features the faces of the characters entangled in the brutal game arranged in the shape of a rose.

At the center of the poster are Sakaguchi Kentaro and Lee Joon Gi. Sakaguchi Kentaro plays Nīide Toshiro, a Tokyo detective who pursues the truth after his wife is kidnapped, while Lee Joon Gi plays Han Ki Joo, a doctor who must abandon his principles to save his daughter. The star-studded lineup for “Dochabi” (working title) has been confirmed!

On August 13, Netflix announced, “We have confirmed the production of the new historical action film ‘Dochabi’ (director An Tae Jin),” announcing the cast lineup of Kim Do Hoon, Jun Jong Seo, Lee Joon Gi, Lee Sang Yi, and Bae In Hyuk.

“Dochabi,” a Korean word meaning “goblin,” follows the story of Tae San (Kim Do Hoon), a former military officer who lives in hiding in the mountains with a Jurchen woman named Ahai (Jun Jong Seo) near the borderlands where farmers have formed settlements. When commander Yi Do Gwan (Lee Joon Gi) hunts these farmers under a mask, Tae San fights back, coming to be known as “Dochabi.”

Amid desperation, he survives like a monster and fights like a ghost, eventually becoming the “Dochabi” that protects people.

Jun Jong Seo of “Project Y” and “Wedding Impossible” will take on the role of Ahai, who is in hiding with Tae San and whose superior agility and martial prowess shine as she fights alongside him.

Lee Joon Gi will portray Yi Do Gwan, the commander of the border region who harbors a deep hunger for power. Having already impressed in countless projects including “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” “Flower of Evil,” “Again My Life,” and more, viewers already anticipating his transformation.

Lee Sang Yi of “Bloodhounds,” “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier,” and “A Bona Fide Killer” will take on the role of Park Se Ryong, an inspector investigating rumors of masked figures appearing in the north. Harboring suspicion toward Yi Do Gwan, Park Se Ryong adds tension to the story.

Bae In Hyuk, who starred in “Under the Queen’s Umbrella,” “Our Universe,” and “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract,” will intricately portray the Crown Prince Yeolhwagun, who carries a deep sense of responsibility and compassion for the people suffering at the hands of invaders.

“Dochabi” will be helmed by director An Tae Jin who received great praise for his debut project “The Night Owl.” The film is written by Hwang Sung Gu, known for storytelling of “The King’s Warden” and “Anarchist from Colony.”

Jeon Jong Seo Joins Kim Do Hoon And Lee Joon Gi In Talks For New Film

Jeon Jong Seo may be starring in a new film with Kim Do Hoon and Lee Joon Gi!

On July 28, Sports Seoul reported that Jeon Jong Seo will be starring as the female lead of the film “Dochabi” (romanized title). In response to the report, a source from her agency ANDMARQ shared, “She received an offer to star [in the film], and she is positively reviewing the offer.”

“Dochabi,” a Korean word meaning “goblin,” is set in the northern border region of Joseon and follows the story of Tae San, a former military officer who lives in hiding in the mountains.

Kim Do Hoon is in talks to play the leading role, while Lee Joon Gi has reportedly been offered the role of the film’s antagonist. Jeon Jong Seo has reportedly been offered the role of the female lead Lee Ha Yi.
