“The Eyes” Surpasses 1 Million Moviegoers

“The Eyes” has surpassed 1 million moviegoers!

According to the Korean Film Council, the film officially surpassed 1 million moviegoers on the afternoon of July 9.

“The Eyes” is a suspenseful thriller that tells the story of Seo Jin (Shin Min Ah), a woman who is gradually losing her sight due to a genetic disease, as she sets out to investigate the suspicious death of her twin sister.

Driven by its gripping storyline and the cast’s powerful performances, “The Eyes” has continued to attract audiences and maintain strong box office momentum. The film is climbing back up the charts, drawing even more viewers in its second week of release than in its first week. It is currently ranked No. 6 at the 2026 Korean box office.

To commemorate the milestone, cast members Shin Min Ah, Kim Nam Hee, Lee Seung Ryong, and Kim Young Ah posed for celebratory group photos.

The character poster for Seo Jin shows her as if she is engaged in an unavoidable struggle, conveying the appeal of the suspense thriller genre. The tagline, “I need to find the culprit quickly before I lose more sight,” highlights the character’s pressure and desperation.

Meanwhile, Detective Do Hyuk (Kim Nam Hee), who is in charge of the death of Seo In, Seo Jin’s twin sister, is shown in a highly agitated state. The poster, which captures a moment of intense physical struggle, hints at the incident that caused the typically calm Do Hyuk to lose his composure.

Model Hyun Min (Lee Seung Ryong), who is obsessively fixated on Seo Jin, conveys a chilling sense of unease through his relentless madness. The line, “You take good photos of me, and that’s definitely love,” intensifies his unsettling nature and hints at what variables his obsession may introduce.

Mi Kyung (Kim Young Ah), the protection officer assigned to Seo Jin, is shown with her attention completely captured by something hanging overhead. Upcoming film “The Eyes” has released a new teaser!

“The Eyes” tells the story of Seo Jin (Shin Min Ah) who is gradually losing her sight due to a genetic disease and sets out to investigate the suspicious death of her twin sister.

Shin Min Ah takes on a dual role as twins Seo In, a blind ceramic artist who ultimately meets a mysterious death, and Seo Jin, a photographer who gradually loses her sight.

The teaser opens with Seo Jin’s ominous words, “I often dream about Seo In. Though she always looked sad.” In one scene, Seo Jin appears anxious while standing in a darkroom filled with photographs of eyes.

Seo Jin then begins pursuing the truth behind her twin sister Seo In’s (also played by Shin Min Ah) mysterious death. Things soon take a dark turn as Seo Jin insists that someone killed her twin sister. In one scene, Seo Jin—whose vision has deteriorated even further—is seen looking terrified as an unidentified threat closes in on her. In another scene, she is seen running through the rain with her eyes covered, panicked as though she is being chased. In yet another scene, she is seen pointing a weapon at someone who appears to have broken into her home.

The teaser also introduces detective Do Hyuk (Kim Nam Hee), who also seems to be investigating Seo In’s death, model Hyun Min (Lee Seung Ryong), and detective Mi Kyung (Kim Young Ah).

Shin Min Ah’s Upcoming Thriller Film “The Eyes” Confirms Cast And Premiere Date With First Poster

Upcoming film “The Eyes” (literal translation) has unveiled its cast lineup alongside its first poster!

On May 19, it was revealed that in addition to Shin Min Ah, the film stars Kim Nam Hee, Lee Seung Ryong, and Kim Young Ah.

“The Eyes” tells the story of a protagonist who is gradually losing her sight due to a genetic disease and investigates the suspicious death of her twin sister, only to come face to face with the truth behind it.

Shin Min Ah takes on a dual role as Seo Jin and Seo In, twin siblings. Seo In overcomes visual impairment to become a successful ceramic artist but ultimately meets a mysterious death. Seo Jin is a photographer who investigates the death of her twin sister while gradually losing her sight due to hereditary optic neuropathy. Shin Min Ah portrays a character who is progressively losing her vision while also capturing a wide range of emotions, heightening the synergy with the thriller genre.

Kim Nam Hee plays detective Do Hyuk. His character cautiously monitors Seo Jin’s obsession while also serving as her eyes as he jointly investigates Seo In’s death, heightening anticipation for his on-screen synergy with Shin Min Ah.

Lee Seung Ryong stars as Hyun Min, a model who obsessively fixates on Seo Jin with relentless madness.

Kim Young Ah takes on the role of detective Mi Kyung, who is responsible for protecting Seo Jin after she is threatened by a stalker. Kim Young Ah’s reunion with Shin Min Ah following the drama “Karma” further raises curiosity about the chemistry they will display as victim and detective in the unfolding case.

The newly released poster draws attention with its bold red color and an extreme close-up of an eye. Although eyes are something seen every day, they are rendered in a completely different way, and simply looking closely at them evokes an unfamiliar sense of tension.

By presenting the title “The Eyes” in a literal way, the poster sparks curiosity about the mysterious presence that has captured the gaze and raises expectations for the genre, which is described with the tagline, “extreme suspense that tightens the pupils.”
