1. THE BOYZ’s Q‘s First Leading Role
One of the biggest highlights is THE BOYZ’s Q making his debut as the lead in a drama. He stars as Han Jae Ha, a key member of the boy group BOY TO THE MOON. Drawing on his real-life experience as an idol, Q is expected to bring authenticity and charm to the role.
2. A Fresh Twist on the Time-Slip Genre
Penned by “Sh**ting Stars” writer Choi Yeon Soo, the drama follows devoted fan Choi Annie (Hwang Ji Ah), who travels back from 2026 to 2018 to save her favorite idol, Han Jae Ha. However, her mission takes an unexpected turn when she ends up becoming an idol trainee herself, setting the stage for a story that blends romance, mystery, and personal growth.

MBC Plus’s upcoming drama “My Idol, My Debut” has kicked off the countdown to the debut of its fictional girl group IRION!
“My Idol, My Debut” is a time-slip coming-of-age story about a passionate fan who travels eight years into the past to prevent a tragic accident. In an effort to change fate, she winds up becoming an idol trainee.
THE BOYZ’s Q will star as Han Jae Ha, a key member of the boy group BOY TO THE MOON, while Hwang Ji Ah will play Choi Annie, a devoted fan of Han Jae Ha who winds up becoming a member of the girl group IRION after traveling eight years back in time.
The upcoming drama has now released teaser images of IRION for their upcoming debut with “MEMORIA,” which is due out on July 19 at 12 p.m. KST.

MBC Plus’s upcoming drama “My Idol, My Debut” has revealed its premiere date with a new trailer and poster!
“My Idol, My Debut” is a time-slip coming-of-age story about a passionate fan who travels eight years into the past to prevent a tragic accident. In an effort to change fate, she winds up becoming an idol trainee.
THE BOYZ’s Q will star as Han Jae Ha, a key member of the boy group BOY TO THE MOON, while Hwang Ji Ah will play Choi Ae Ni, a devoted fan of Han Jae Ha who winds up becoming a member of the girl group IRION after traveling eight years back in time.
MBC has now confirmed that “My Idol, My Debut” will premiere on July 16. The first two episodes will air back-to-back on July 16 at 11:30 p.m. KST on MBC Dramanet, while Episodes 3 and 4 will air consecutively at the same time on July 23.
The newly released poster for the upcoming drama is split in half, using contrasting colors to highlight the distance between Han Jae Ha and Choi Ae Ni, who live in different worlds.
Meanwhile, the new trailer for the drama begins with Han Jae Ha on stage, saying, “There was someone who gave me courage during my school days.” The lights then go off, and an unseen assailant rushes on stage and stabs Han Jae Ha.
After watching the scene unfold on her phone, a devastated Choi Ae Ni runs out into the street, where she appears to get into a car accident that sends her back in time to 2018. She wakes up in her school uniform and is shocked to find a teenage Han Jae Ha at her door.
Later, Choi Ae Ni nervously tells Han Jae Ha, “You can’t die,” to which he replies with a scoff, “Why would I die?” Choi Ae Ni responds, “I’ll stay by your side and protect you no matter what.”

“My Idol, My Debut” is a time-slip coming-of-age drama about a devoted fan who travels eight years into the past to prevent a tragic accident. In an effort to change fate, she winds up becoming an idol trainee.
The script reading was attended by director Han Geum Bi, writer Choi Yeon Soo, and the drama’s main cast, including THE BOYZ’s Q, Lee Jin Hyuk, Hwang Ji Ah, Jung Ji Ahn, WOOAH’s Nana, tripleS’s Kaede, and AISA.
Making his first leading role through this project, Q fully immersed himself in the role of Han Jae Ha, a key member of the fictional boy group BOY TO THE MOON. With his calm yet confident line delivery and focused performance, he convincingly captured the charisma and star quality of his character, earning praise from everyone on set.
Hwang Ji Ah, who plays Choi Ae Ni, a devoted fan who travels eight years into the past to change a tragic future before ending up becoming a central member of the girl group IRION, also impressed with her nuanced performance. Drawing on her experience as a former child actress, she skillfully portrayed both Choi Ae Ni’s desperate determination to change her idol’s fate.
Lee Jin Hyuk, who plays Ethan, a Canadian-born mood-maker of BOY TO THE MOON, energized the script reading with his signature wit and effortless charm.

Lee Jin Hyuk will play the role of Ethan, a Canadian-born member of BOY TO THE MOON who is the group’s official “mood-maker” and easily gets along with other people wherever he goes.
However, in newly released stills from the upcoming drama, Ethan is seen looking scruffy as he sits on the ground in front of a convenience store with a messy hair and face, a stained plaid shirt, and ripped jeans. The sight of Ethan looking decidedly unpolished piques curiosity as to what sort of situation he has found himself in.
