Stray Kids Announces Latin American Music Festival “STRAYCITY” Featuring NEXZ; To Add More Cities In Future
Get ready for a brand-new music festival led by Stray Kids!
On May 23 KST, JYP Entertainment and Live Nation announced their plans for a new music festival called “STRAYCITY,” at which Stray Kids will serve as the headliner for every show.
So far, three Latin American shows have been announced for “STRAYCITY,” but JYP Entertainment says that it plans to add more host cities in the future.
“STRAYCITY” will kick off in Bogotá on September 9 before heading to Buenos Aires on September 14 and Mexico City on September 25.
NEXZ will be performing at all three shows, which will also feature local artists such as Andrés Obregón, RENEE, Bad Milk, Kei Linch, K4OS, and Cocho.
JYP Entertainment commented, “‘STRAYCITY’ is a music festival that anyone can enjoy, and it aims to become a platform where one can awaken a hidden alter ego and discover a new side of themselves.”
“Through this music festival inspired by their group name, Stray Kids will unleash their unrivaled, explosive energy and share their special musical universe with the audience,” they continued.
Hinting at its plans for future shows, JYP Entertainment added, “‘STRAYCITY’ will continue with additional host cities in the future.”

AKMU Earns Circle Triple Crown + CORTIS, BTS, And ILLIT Top Weekly Charts
Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has revealed its chart rankings for the week of May 3 to 9!
Album Chart
CORTIS swept the top two spots on this week’s physical album chart with their new EP “GREENGREEN.” The regular version of the EP debuted at No. 1, while the Weverse version charted separately at No. 2.
BABYMONSTER similarly claimed the next two spots on the chart with their new mini album “CHOOM.” The regular version of the mini album debuted at No. 3, and the Nemo version charted separately at No. 4.
Finally, NAZE’s self-titled debut mini album entered the chart at No. 5.

AKMU achieved a triple crown on this week’s Circle charts, with their hit song “Paradise of Rumors” topping no less than three separate charts: the overall digital chart, digital download chart, and streaming chart.
AKMU claimed two of the top three spots on this week’s digital download chart, where “Paradise of Rumors” jumped to No. 1 and “Joy, Sorrow, A Beautiful Heart” climbed back up to No. 3.
Meanwhile, ILLIT’s latest title track “It’s Me” shot to No. 2 for the week.
NEXZ’s new single “Mmchk” stayed strong at No. 4 on the chart, while BABYMONSTER’s new title track “CHOOM” debuted at No. 5.
Overall Digital Chart
AKMU once again swept the top two spots on the overall digital chart, where “Paradise of Rumors” and “Joy, Sorrow, A Beautiful Heart” maintained their respective positions at No. 1 and No. 2.
CORTIS’s “REDRED” jumped to No. 3, followed by Hearts2Hearts’ “RUDE!” at No. 4 and HANRORO’s “Landing in Love” at No. 5.
Streaming Chart
The top five songs on this week’s streaming chart were exactly the same as the overall digital chart, except Hearts2Hearts’ “RUDE!” and CORTIS’s “REDRED” swapped places to take No. 3 and No. 4 respectively.
Global K-Pop Chart
BTS’s “SWIM” continued its reign at No. 1 on the global K-pop chart, with HUNTR/X’s “Golden” (from the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack) holding steady at No. 2.
CORTIS’s “REDRED” rose to No. 3, while BTS’s B-side “2.0” stayed strong at No. 4.
Finally, ILLIT’s “It’s Me” jumped 29 ranks to take No. 5 on this week’s chart.
Social Chart 3.0
ILLIt held onto their spot at No. 1 on the social chart this week, while BTS maintained their position at No. 2.
BABYMONSTER climbed to No. 3 on this week’s chart, with Yena rising to No. 4 and BLACKPINK rounding out the top five.

May Rookie Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings Announced
The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for rookie idol groups!
The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of various rookie idol groups, using big data collected from April 1 to May 1.
KiiiKiii continued their reign at the top of the list this month with a brand reputation index of 1,154,671. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “Gen Z vibe,” “404,” and “KiiiKiii FesTiiival,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “distinguish themselves,” “participate,” and “active.” KiiiKiii’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 92.17 percent positive reactions.
Meanwhile, TWS rose to second place with a brand reputation index of 930,321 for May.
Hearts2Hearts came in at a close third with a brand reputation index of 904,097, while CORTIS followed in fourth with a score of 877,463.
Finally, ILLIT rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 776,045, marking a 3.94 percent increase in their score since April.

NEXZ’s Yu To Sit Out Japan Event Due To Entry Issues
NEXZ’s Yu will not be attending the group’s upcoming fan signing event in Japan.
On May 17 KST, JYP Entertainment announced that Yu would be sitting out NEXZ’s “Mmchk Special Japan Fan Sign Event” scheduled to take place that day.
The agency explained, “Due to an unexpected administrative issue, Yu encountered difficulties with entry procedures and, unfortunately, will not be able to participate in the event. Accordingly, the upcoming event will proceed with the remaining six members excluding Yu.”
JYP Entertainment’s full English statement is as follows:
Hello, this is JYPE.
We regret to inform you that Yu will be unable to attend the NEXZ – Mmchk Special Japan Fan Sign Event scheduled to take place in Japan on Sunday, May 17.
Due to an unexpected administrative issue, Yu encountered difficulties with entry procedures and, unfortunately, will not be able to participate in the event.

NEXZ has hit a new career high with their latest release!
Last week, NEXZ made their comeback with the new single album “Mmchk” and its title track of the same name on April 27.
According to Hanteo Chart, “Mmchk” sold a total of 444,730 copies in the first week of its release (April 27 to May 3), easily breaking NEXZ’s previous first-week sales record of 338,916 set by their mini album “Beat-Boxer” last year.
