Byun Yo Han, Ha Yun Kyung, And Ahn Jae Hong Confirmed For New Occult Film

The upcoming film “Auspicious Day” (literal title) has kicked off filming with its cast including Byun Yo Han, Ahn Jae Hong, and Ha Yun Kyung!

On June 29, the production team released photos from the script reading session, previewing the actors’ chemistry.

“Auspicious Day” is a mystery film that follows the events unfolding over a single day after Woo Jin, who is about to move into a new house on the most auspicious day, encounters a shaman named Tae Ju, who claims that his wife Hee Yeon must receive spirit possession after she begins to show strange symptoms.

Byun Yo Han plays the role of Tae Ju, a talented shaman and a disciple of a great spirit medium, leading the story with his intense presence.

Ahn Jae Hong takes on the role of Woo Jin, a lawyer who believes only in what he can see. Woo Jin pursues reason and logic even amidst unexplainable phenomena.

Ha Yun Kyung has been cast as Woo Jin’s wife Hee Yeon. As a character who is pulled into the center of a mystery while experiencing a bizarre phenomena, Ha Yun Kyung is expected to convincingly portray the character’s anxiety and confusion.

SBS’s upcoming drama “Excitatio” has unveiled its first teaser!

Set in the brutal world of Korea’s fiercely competitive college entrance exam system—a pressure-cooker fueled by jealousy and ambition—“Excitatio” tells the story of students who become obsessed with improving their grades and are lured by a mysterious stimulant that awakens strange supernatural abilities. As their classmates begin to die one by one, an exorcist priest risks everything, including his own soul, to save them.

The newly released teaser delivers intense suspense, capturing Lee Jun Hyuk’s transformation into the exorcist priest Antonio and the bizarre incidents unfolding at Seongnyeong High School.

Accompanied by Antonio’s voice saying, “The exorcism ritual begins with watching the possessed,” the footage reveals students possessed by evil spirits. In particular, the blood-stained hallways, students appearing as if they are being controlled by someone, and the slowly emerging traces of evil spirits create an eerie atmosphere.

With the line, “I will drive you out of that child’s body,” the teaser heralds an all-out war against the massive evil spirit that has consumed the students, heightening anticipation.

The upcoming SBS drama “Excitatio” has unveiled its first still!

On June 1, SBS held its drama media day event “SBS DRAMA: NEXT EPISODE” in Seoul, where it unveiled its upcoming drama lineup for the second half of 2026 and the first half of 2027.

Among the dramas scheduled to air in 2027 is the occult exorcism drama “Excitatio.”

Set in the brutal world of Korea’s fiercely competitive college entrance exam system—a pressure-cooker fueled by jealousy and ambition—“Excitatio” tells the story of students who become obsessed with improving their grades and are lured by a mysterious stimulant that awakens strange supernatural abilities. As their classmates begin to die one by one, an exorcist priest risks everything, including his own soul, to save them.

Lee Jun Hyuk plays Antonio, a new guiding priest assigned to Seongryeong High School. He stirs curiosity and unease among students but is actually an exorcist priest ordained by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Beneath his distant exterior, Antonio has delicate, sharp instincts and a warm sense of empathy. He is a seeker who has faced horrific situations alone, endured deep pain and loneliness, and repeatedly triumphed over evil spirits.

Sent to Seongryeong High School to investigate demonic forces, Antonio encounters a series of strange incidents and begins to track down the person who has pushed the students into a deadly race.

Yoo Hae Jin And Yim Si Wan In Talks For New Occult Film By “The Outlaws” Director

Yoo Hae Jin and Yim Si Wan may star in the upcoming occult film “Modub” (literal title).

On May 19, representatives from Yoo Hae Jin’s agency VAST Entertainment and Yim Si Wan’s agency THEBLACKLABEL shared, “They received an offer to appear in ‘Modub’ and are positively reviewing it.”

“Modub” is an occult film centered around knots. The project is already drawing attention in the film industry, as director Kang Yoon Sung—known for the movie “The Outlaws” as well as the Disney+ series “Big Bet” and “Low Life”—is also participating in the production.

Ong Seong Wu Confirmed To Join Park Eun Bin And Yang Se Jong In New Occult Romance Drama

Ong Seong Wu will be joining Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong in the upcoming occult romance drama “Spellbound” (working title)!

“Spellbound” is a drama remake of the 2011 film “Spellbound” starring Son Ye Jin, Lee Min Ki, Park Chul Min, Kim Hyun Sook, Lee Mi Do, and more. The drama is an investigative occult romance drama about a hotel heiress who can see ghosts and a passionate, empathetic prosecutor who team up in a chaotic partnership.

On April 22, the production team of “Spellbound” confirmed, “Ong Seong Wu will be playing the role of original character Kang Min Hwan, who isn’t present in the original film.”

Ong Seong Wu’s character Kang Min Hwan is the CEO of CL Raymond Hotel, an affiliate of the CL Group. As an heir to the hotel and resort conglomerate CL, Kang Min Hwan has everything from sharp intelligence to handsome looks, eloquence, a rational personality, impeccable manners, and innate talent. Although he appears to be a cold businessman on the outside, he is a warmhearted friend to Cheon Yeo Ri.

The production team remarked, “Kang Min Hwan is an original character not seen in the original film, and he will add new tension to the relationship between Cheon Yeo Ri and Ma Gang Wook. Please watch with anticipation for Ong Seong Wu’s new transformation as he completes Kang Min Hwan’s narrative with his own colors while completely immersed in the character.”

Previously, it was confirmed that Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong will be starring in the drama. Park Eun Bin plays Cheon Yeo Ri, the heiress of one of Korea’s top conglomerates and the CEO of a luxury hotel who hides a fatal secret: she can see ghosts. Yang Se Jong takes on the role of ace prosecutor Ma Gang Wook.
