10 Office Rom-Com K-Dramas Which Bring Both Love And Laughs

There is something particularly addictive about a good office romance. Whether it is a boss falling for an employee, colleagues discovering that their professional rivalry hides a deeper attraction, or two people finding love while navigating demanding careers, K-dramas have turned the workplace into one of their favorite settings for romance and comedy.

From fangirls who join a company to get closer to their celebrity crush to secretaries finally walking away from their demanding bosses, these dramas mix workplace politics, professional ambitions, and complicated relationships with plenty of laughs. Here are some office rom-coms to add to your watchlist.

“My Bias, My Boss“

10 Office Rom-Com K-Dramas Which Bring Both Love And Laughs插图

Nam Da Reum (Kim Hye Jun) is a devoted fan of idol Lee Chan (Cha Woo Min), whom she has supported for years. Determined to meet her favorite star, she leaves a job at a major company and joins fashion platform APPELLO, founded by Lee Chan and his best friend Kang Ha Gi (Kang Hoon), who is CEO.

But instead of enjoying her dream workplace with her all-time bias being well within arm’s reach, Da Reum finds herself dealing with the meticulous and demanding Ha Gi. As she spends more time with her boss, her feelings become complicated, as she is left wondering which one of them really makes her heart skip a beat.

What makes this rom-com fun is the unusual setup. Da Reum enters the company because of her idol crush, only to discover that the person who starts catching her attention is her boss. The workplace setting adds another layer to an already complicated love triangle.

“Love Scout”

Kang Ji Yun (Han Ji Min) is the CEO of Peoplez, a successful headhunting company. She is brilliant at her job but less comfortable with the everyday details of life outside work. Yu Eun Ho (Lee Jun Hyuk) joins her as her secretary and assistant. A single father who is warm, organized, and exceptionally capable, Eun Ho is almost the opposite of his demanding boss. As the two work closely together, their professional relationship gradually develops into something more.

The appeal of this drama is the role reversal. Instead of the usual competent male boss and inexperienced female employee, “Love Scout” gives viewers a formidable female CEO and a male secretary who becomes indispensable to her both professionally and personally. Upending the gender stereotypes and the contrasting personalities of the leads create much of the show’s charm.

“My Dearest Nemesis”

Baek Su Jung (Mun Ka Young) and Ban Ju Yeon (Choi Hyun Wook) first meet through an online game when they are teenagers. They form a connection which is best left forgotten, without knowing each other’s real identities. 16 years later, they meet again in the real world—this time as an employee and her boss. Su Jung is a planning team leader at Yongseong Department Store, while Ju Yeon is the head of its strategic planning division.

Childhood memories, an online romance, and a workplace reunion make this a classic enemies-to-lovers setup with a modern twist. The fun comes from watching two people who once knew each other very differently try to navigate their new boss-employee relationship.

“Filing for Love”

Joo In Ah (Shin Hae Sun) is the tough and eccentric head of the audit office at Haemu Group. Noh Ki Jun (Gong Myoung) is an ace employee in the company’s audit department whose career takes an unexpected turn when he is demoted to a team that handles internal misconduct. His new circumstances bring him into close contact with In Ah, whose unpredictable personality makes their professional relationship anything but straightforward. Jeon Jae Yeol (Kim Jae Wook), Haemu Group’s executive vice chairman, and his secretary, Park Ah Jeong (Hong Hwa Yeon), add another layer to the workplace story.

The audit office setting gives the romance an unusual workplace backdrop. Instead of simply dealing with deadlines and office gossip, the characters are investigating misconduct while trying to figure out whom they can trust, making the professional and personal conflicts collide.

“Today’s Webtoon”

On Ma Eum (Kim Sejeong) is a former national-level judo athlete whose sporting career ends after an injury. She finds a new direction when she joins the editorial department of a webtoon company as a rookie employee. Seok Ji Hyung (Choi Daniel) is her experienced deputy editor and mentor, while Goo Joon Yeong (Nam Yoon Su) is a new employee from the sales team who initially struggles to adapt to the workplace.

“Today’s Webtoon” is as much about finding your place professionally as it is about romance. Set inside the fiercely competitive webtoon industry, the drama follows young employees earning how to survive office politics, support one another, and grow into their careers. It is a warm workplace drama with romantic elements rather than a conventional office romance.

“The Divorce Insurance”

10 Office Rom-Com K-Dramas Which Bring Both Love And Laughs插图5

Noh Ki Jun (Lee Dong Wook) is an insurance actuary who has been divorced three times. Working in the innovative product development team at an insurance company, he comes up with the unusual idea of divorce insurance. Kang Han Deul (Lee Joo Bin), an underwriter who has filed for divorce after being mistreated by her in-laws, joins his team. Their colleagues include cautious team member Ahn Jeong Man (Lee Kwang Soo) and financial mathematician Jeon Na Rae (Lee Da Hee), who approaches relationships with the same analytical mindset she applies to investments.

The premise alone makes this office rom-com stand out. Instead of selling conventional insurance products, the characters try to put a price on one of life’s most unpredictable events. The unusual workplace project naturally leads them to examine their own ideas about love, marriage, and divorce.

“A Business Proposal”

10 Office Rom-Com K-Dramas Which Bring Both Love And Laughs插图6

Shin Ha Ri (Kim Sejeong) is a food researcher at Go Food who agrees to go on a blind date in place of her friend Jin Yeong Seo (Seol In Ah). Her plan is to scare the man away, but things go wrong when she discovers that her blind date is Kang Tae Moo (Ahn Hyo Seop), the new CEO of her company. To make matters even more complicated, Tae Moo decides he wants to marry the woman he believes she is. Meanwhile, Young Seo finds herself falling for Tae Moo’s secretary and close confidant, Cha Sung Hoon (Kim Min Kyu).

Fake identities, a fake relationship, a demanding CEO, and a workplace romance make this one of the most quintessential modern office rom-coms. The parallel romance between Yeong Seo and Sung Hoon adds another layer of comedy and chemistry.

“See You at Work Tomorrow”

10 Office Rom-Com K-Dramas Which Bring Both Love And Laughs插图7

Cha Ji Yoon (Park Ji Hyun) is a seven-year office worker who has spent years navigating the pressures of corporate life while living with a chronic illness. Her relationship with her prickly boss, Kang Si Woo (Seo In Guk), starts off on the wrong foot, but soon enough the two are entangled in an unexpected way, which gradually develops into a meaningful bond.

The drama brings a more grounded perspective to the office romance format, looking at what it means to keep showing up for work while dealing with challenges in your personal life. The relationship between Ji Yoon and Si Woo grows against the everyday pressures of office life.

“Yumi’s Cells 2”

10 Office Rom-Com K-Dramas Which Bring Both Love And Laughs插图8

Kim Yumi (Kim Go Eun) continues to navigate work and relationships in the second season of the series. After her relationship with game developer Goo Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun), Yumi becomes closer to her colleague, Yoo Babi (Park Jin Young). Their relationship develops while Yumi continues working and pursuing her dream of becoming a writer.

The office setting is woven naturally into Yumi’s romantic and personal journey rather than being the entire premise. The animated cells inside Yumi’s head add a playful perspective to everything from workplace frustrations to romantic confusion, making the drama particularly relatable for anyone who has ever over-analysed a text from a colleague.

When Mi So announces that she wants to resign and finally build a life of her own, Young Joon is stunned. He quickly realizes that losing his secretary may mean losing the woman he has come to love.

This is the classic boss-secretary rom-com. Young Joon’s outrageous confidence clashes with Mi So’s growing determination to live life on her own terms, while their transition from employer and employee to a couple creates plenty of comedy, romantic tension, and workplace chaos. The chemistry between Park Min Young and Park Seo Joon is also scorching.

Lee Jun Hyuk Is An Office Worker Whose Life Changes After Winning The Lottery In New Drama “The Ordinary Jackpot”

“The Ordinary Jackpot” has unveiled new stills of Lee Jun Hyuk in character!

Based on a webtoon, “The Ordinary Jackpot” follows Gong Eun Tae (Lee Jun Hyuk), an ordinary sales employee who wins the lottery jackpot. Though the prize—1.3 billion won (approximately $946,000)—isn’t quite enough to dramatically transform his life overnight, the experience ultimately inspires him to change himself instead. Rather than quit, he returns to work the very next day with a completely different outlook on life.

The stills capture Gong Eun Tae before and after his lottery win, highlighting how his life changes. In one still, Gong Eun Tae’s face as he waits to head to work clearly shows how exhausted he is from his demanding corporate life. Although he rose to the position of team leader faster than others, he is simply an office worker who is busy getting through each day without incident as he is constantly caught between his superiors and subordinates.

However, an unexpected stroke of luck brings changes to Gong Eun Tae’s daily life. His eyes widen as he comes face-to-face with an unbelievable reality, and even after experiencing his “jackpot” moment, he heads to work instead of submitting his resignation. It remains to be seen how his life at the company will change as he carries his “insurance for his peace of mind” in the form of 1.3 billion won in lottery winnings.

Lee Jun Hyuk described his character, saying, “He is an ordinary office worker who lives more diligently and works harder than anyone else. He may seem frustrating to some, but he is fiercely dedicated to the work he is responsible for and always gives it his all.”

Gong Eun Tae’s subtle emotional changes following his lottery win are also a key point to watch. Lee Jun Hyuk explained his approach to the role, saying, “I prepared for it with the feeling of welcoming guests to our drama. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to create synergy with the actors who bring good energy to our drama and how to portray Eun Tae’s subtle emotional shifts without making them feel too stark.”

Watch: Choi Min Sik And Han So Hee Lead A Colorful Office Ensemble In New “The Intern” Behind-The-Scenes Video

The upcoming film “The Intern” has unveiled a new poster and behind-the-scenes video!

A remake of the Hollywood film of the same name, “The Intern” tells the story of an office life that transcends generations and job titles, beginning when Gi Ho (Choi Min Sik), a senior intern with 37 years of work experience, joins Woototo, a company led by Sun Woo (Han So Hee), a workaholic CEO whose fashion brand has emerged as a dark horse just three years after its launch.

The newly released poster brings together Gi Ho and Sun Woo, alongside the rest of Woototo’s employees. The colorful ensemble includes Kim Jun Han as Young Hwan, a pragmatic vice president; Ryu Hye Young as Min Ah, the team leader of Wootutu’s management support team who is obsessed with AI; Kim Geum Soon as Hee Sook, a romantic barista; Park Ye Ni as Yoo Jin, an incredibly passionate MD; Kim Yo Han as Joo Sung, an outgoing fellow intern; Im Sung Kyun as Jun Hyung, an MD team leader skilled in office politics; and Yoon Sang Jung as Yoon Hee, a candid and bubbly fellow intern. With each character bringing a distinct personality, anticipation is building for the K-office ensemble they will create.

The accompanying behind-the-scenes video, titled “Orientation,” offers a glimpse at the cast’s fun chemistry and the production team’s efforts to bring Woototo to life.

Choi Min Sik, who plays the silver intern Gi Ho, shared, “I filmed while thinking about what I would have done if I had joined Woototo.” Director Kim Do Young added, “It was moving just to watch Choi Min Sik blend in with the younger actors.”

Han So Hee transforms into Sun Woo, a CEO who is top-tier at her job but an amateur when it comes to life. Director Kim Do Young teased a different side of the actress, saying, “Han So Hee worked hard to give everything she had to offer.”

The cast’s chemistry also stands out in the behind-the-scenes video. Ryu Hye Young shared, “I hope the audience can enjoy Woototo’s fun vibe along with us.” Director Kim Do Young revealed that Choi Min Sik was “the mood maker on set,” while Han So Hee described him as “someone who has both a cool side and an untainted innocence.”

The production team’s meticulous efforts to create Woototo’s distinctive office space and style are also highlighted. Director Kim Do Young visited actual fashion companies to capture their relaxed workplace culture and day-to-day atmosphere on film. From an office featuring phone booths to costumes designed by the film’s wardrobe team and styling tailored to each employee’s personality, the production created Woototo’s unique aesthetic.

Most notably, Gi Ho’s suit, which contrasts with the employees’ more free-spirited styles, carries deeper meaning. Choi Min Sik described it as “the battle uniform of countless ‘Gi Hos’ who have endured harsh years in the workplace.”

Finally, the two leads talked about the film’s warm message, with Choi Min Sik comparing “The Intern” to “the gentle ripples that spread when you throw a stone into water,” while Han So Hee expressed, “I hope it’s a film that will make audiences leave the theater feeling happy.”

In the drama, Kang Hoon plays Kang Ha Gi, the CEO who built the company. Through his distinctively different attitudes and vibes inside and outside the office, he highlights the contrast between the professional persona during work hours and the person he becomes after clocking out—a dynamic familiar to many office workers.

Watch: Kong Hyo Jin, Sung Dong Il, And More Take Down Criminals While Posing As Ordinary Office Workers In “A Bona Fide Killer” Teaser

MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “A Bona Fide Killer” has unveiled a new teaser!

“A Bona Fide Killer” is an action drama about a working mother with a lethal job who is fighting to protect her work-life balance. Kong Hyo Jin stars as Yu Bo Na, the seemingly ordinary manager of Sales Team 3 at Durumi Electronics, who is also secretly the legendary sniper known as “Kingfisher.”

The teaser opens with Yu Bo Na’s ordinary daily life as she returns to work at the company after a long absence. When a neighbor asks, “I heard she works for a big company,” her mother-in-law Ok Seon Ja (Cha Mi Kyeong) casually replies, “The fan [company],” naturally presenting Yu Bo Na as an ordinary office worker.

However, the mood quickly shifts. With the line, “Sales Team 3 carries out the task of carefully selecting and eliminating criminals,” the faces of the team’s targets appear one after another, revealing the group’s hidden identity.

Reporter Kwon Tae Sung (Jung Jun Won) voices his suspicions, saying, “Isn’t it a little strange? It’s like a scenario that was deliberately planned,” while intercut scenes of Sales Team 3 preparing operations to take down criminals further intensify the mystery surrounding the drama. Kim Bong Pal (Sung Dong Il), who specializes in staging eliminations as accidental deaths; genius hacker Ki Young Do (Mu Jin Seong); weapons expert Bong Tae Min (Kim Nam Hee); and medical malpractice specialist Go Young Gap (Heo Jae Ho) showcase seamless teamwork built on their individual areas of expertise.

Meanwhile, during a workshop, the team provides comic relief with their realistic portrayal as the company’s lowest-performing sales department, appearing awkward while playing games and getting pushed into a corner by a crowded elevator. But the atmosphere changes instantly when Bong Tae Min gives the signal, “Client meeting starts.” Yu Bo Na, Kim Bong Pal, and Yang Ye Sol (Kim Ga Hee) then swiftly overpower a group of imposing criminals, displaying their formidable presence.

Toward the end of the teaser, a series of operations, including staged construction site falls and vehicle explosions, unfolds, while the line, “To ensure it serves only the purpose of making them disappear from this world,” highlights Sales Team 3’s distinctive convictions. The teaser concludes with team leader Kim Bong Pal saying, “Let’s slowly start our meeting now,” followed by the appearance of Yu Bo Na wielding a sniper rifle and new recruit Oh Hyun Nam (Ha Yul Ri).

Kong Hyo Jin, Sung Dong Il, And More Run A Secret Operation From An Ordinary Office In “A Bona Fide Killer” Poster

MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “A Bona Fide Killer” has unveiled a new poster!

The poster features the members of Durumi Electronics’ Sales Team 3 gathered in an office setting while holding guns. A drone hovering in the air and a bullet placed on the desk create a sense of tension.

Wearing employee ID badges of ordinary office workers, the team members reveal their perfect disguises designed to conceal their true identities as the “Client Elimination Team.” The team consists of Yu Bo Na, a one-shot, one-kill killer; Kim Bong Pal (Sung Dong Il), a specialist in faking accidental deaths; Ki Young Do (Mu Jin Seong), a genius hacker; Bong Tae Min (Kim Nam Hee), who is in charge of weapons; Oh Hyun Nam (Ha Yul Ri), a poisoning expert; Go Young Gap (Heo Jae Ho), a medical malpractice specialist; and Yang Ye Sol (Kim Ga Hee), who is in charge of administrative affairs.

The tagline, “The client meeting begins,” hints at the punishment carried out by Durumi Electronics’ Sales Team 3 against vicious criminals who cunningly exploit loopholes in the law.
