“We Are All Trying Here” Stars Share What The Drama Means To Them Ahead Of Tonight’s Finale
The stars of JTBC’s “We Are All Trying Here” have shared their final thoughts ahead of tonight’s series finale!
“We Are All Trying Here” tells the story of Hwang Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan), an aspiring film director who, surrounded by successful friends, believes he is the only one whose life isn’t working out. Consumed by anguish, envy, and jealousy, he sets out on a journey in search of peace.
With just one episode left in the drama’s run, the starring cast took a moment to look back on “We Are All Trying Here” and what it meant to them.
Recalling how he felt seeing viewers’ reactions to the drama, Koo Kyo Hwan commented, “While reading reviews by viewers whose faces I’ve never seen, I’m suddenly struck by the feeling that ‘I exist there, too.’” For his final farewell to the show’s viewers, he said goodbye by repeating, “All for one, one for all.”
Reflecting on her experience filming “We Are All Trying Here,” Go Youn Jung remarked, “Because I was filming with more experienced actors, there was so much for me to learn, and because there was so many great lines in the dialogue, I think I filmed the drama with a happy heart.”
“I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who tuned in,” continued the actress, before addressing her character directly to say a final goodbye. “Eun Ah, you worked so, so hard. As much as you have suffered, there will only be good things in your future. I hope there will only be peace and serenity in your life.”
Summing the drama up in one word, Oh Jung Se described “We Are All Trying Here” as “precious.” “I was excited to have been able to be a part of such a precious drama, I was happy while filming this precious drama, and I’m truly sad to be saying goodbye to this precious drama,” said the actor. “Because I was able to work with such precious people, I think I was able to make this a year full of meaning.”
Meanwhile, Kang Mal Geum became emotional at having to say goodbye to the drama, commenting, “I’m tearing up at the thought that ‘We Are All Trying Here’ is ending. I was truly grateful for your deep interest and love. I was happy throughout the time I spent living in the world of the drama, as well as the time I spent watching the drama together with all of you as a viewer.”
She continued, “I must now leave my sorrow behind and go write my own story, a story that shines bright. Since I’m someone who made it through ‘We Are All Trying Here.’ I must open a thousand doors and keep moving forward!”
Expressing his regret that the drama was concluding, Park Hae Joon shared, “I feel sad that it’s the end.” He went on to address the show’s viewers directly, saying, “Thank you for cherishing ‘We Are All Trying Here.’”
Finally, Han Sun Hwa shared, “I, too, feel sad that it’s already the end. When I first received the script, I really enjoyed reading it, but watching it on screen made it even more fun and more moving, so for a while, I think I enjoyed ‘We Are All Trying Here’ as a fan, just like all of you.”
“Thanks to the support you gave Jang Mi Ran and the joy you shared, I felt grateful once more for having been able to play Jang Mi Ran, and I also felt rewarded as an actor,” she continued. “Thank you so much for watching and joining us up until now.”
The final episode of “We Are All Trying Here” will air on May 24 at 10:30 p.m. KST.

Koo Kyo Hwan Faces Off Against Oh Jung Se As Park Hae Joon Unexpectedly Appears In “We Are All Trying Here”
JTBC’s “We Are All Trying Here” has unveiled new stills ahead of the upcoming episode!
Spoilers
The newly released stills for the upcoming episode further tease another confrontation between Hwang Dong Man and Park Kyung Se (Oh Jung Se). One of the main points of “We Are All Trying Here” has been the relationship between Hwang Dong Man, who loves it when others don’t succeed, and Park Kyung Se, who can’t help but get riled up by Hwang Dong Man’s remarks. Eventually, Hwang Dong Man was banned from Azit as his relationship with Park Kyung Se took an unfortunate turn.
In the stills, Hwang Dong Man is facing off against Park Kyung Se once more along with Lee Ki Ri (Bae Myung Jin), and Woo Seung Tae (Jo Min Guk) in front of Azit, making viewers curious to find out what childish act he is up to next.
The entrance of Hwang Dong Man’s older brother Hwang Jin Man (Park Hae Joon) adds to the tension. His appearance makes viewers curious to find out if he will once again support his younger brother or whether he will deliver harsh yet realistic criticism to Hwang Dong Man.
The next episode of “We Are All Trying Here” will air on April 26 at 10:30 p.m. KST.

Watch: A Lonely Koo Kyo Hwan Encounters Go Youn Jung Who Recognizes His Worth In “We Are All Trying Here” Teaser
JTBC’s “We Are All Trying Here” has shared a teaser for its first episode!
“We Are All Trying Here” tells the story of Hwang Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan), who, surrounded by successful friends, believes he is the only one whose life isn’t working out. Consumed by anguish, envy, and jealousy, he sets out on a journey in search of peace.
The newly released video begins by highlighting Hwang Dong Man’s lonely struggle as he continues to pursue his dream of becoming a film director even after 20 long years.
Those around him offer only cynical remarks such as, “Do you really think Hwang Dong Man can debut?” and “Shouldn’t someone tell him to just quit already?” Even his older brother Hwang Jin Man (Park Hae Joon) scolds him, saying that having a proper job means “waking up in the morning, washing up, going out, and clenching your teeth as you give it your all like your life depends on it.”
In one scene, when Hwang Dong Man steps into a gathering of eight highly successful individuals—film directors, planning producers, and producers—a cold silence falls over the room. For Dong Man, who feels a deep sense of loneliness, this triggers his anxiety. Even so, he continues to push forward desperately, expressing his resolve to prove himself by any means necessary.
In another scene, Hwang Dong Man encounters Byun Eun Ah (Go Youn Jung), who recognizes his worth. Byun Eun Ah, who believes Dong Man seems like someone with a thousand doors all open, expresses curiosity about his script that everyone else turned down.
Watch the full teaser below!
The production team remarked, “The preview for episode 1 captures Hwang Dong Man’s lonely reality and the shining variable named Byun Eun Ah who appears before him. The two, who lived lonely lives, are expected to meet and begin to brighten each other’s worlds. Please tune in to the premiere of ‘We Are All Trying Here.’”
“We Are All Trying Here” will premiere on April 18 at 10:40 p.m. KST.

Watch: Koo Kyo Hwan, Go Youn Jung, And More Try To Find Meaning In “We Are All Trying Here” Highlight Teaser
JTBC’s “We Are All Trying Here” is gearing up for its premiere!
“We Are All Trying Here” tells the story of Hwang Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan), who, surrounded by successful friends, believes he is the only one whose life isn’t working out. Consumed by anguish, envy, and jealousy, he sets out on a journey in search of peace.
Through its highlight teaser, “We Are All Trying Here” unveiled three key points in the drama.
1. Hwang Dong Man’s struggle
Hwang Dong Man is the only one to not have made his debut among his successful friends, who have all made a name for themselves in the film industry. Film producer Park Kyung Se (Oh Jung Se), who has released five films, comments, “He goes crazy when someone else succeeds and is crazy happy when they fail.” Go Hye Jin (Kang Mal Geum) notes that Hwang Dong Man makes chaos no matter where he goes, and Choi Hyo Jin (Park Ye Ni) expresses her wishes for Hwang Dong Man to be more quiet. However, Hwang Dong Man refutes, “There’s never been a moment where I’ve been quiet since I was born.” Although he wants to succeed, reality isn’t as easy, and Hwang Dong Man freely expresses his childish jealousy.
2. Hwang Dong Man and Byun Eun Ah’s support
While the world regards Hwang Dong Man’s monologues as noise, Byun Eun Ah (Go Youn Jung) sees him as someone with a thousand open doors. Struggling with being abandoned when she was nine years old, Byun Eun Ah now experiences nosebleeds every time she feels emotional overload. Hwang Dong Man’s sincerity, “Who would dare to toss you away?” sets Byun Eun Ah free. Hwang Dong Man also smiles when he’s with Byun Eun Ah, with both their watches turning from red to green to signify “heart-fluttering excitement” and “relief” for the first time in their lives. As they cross their watches that have turned green, the two begin to save each other, creating anticipation to see how their special relationship will unfold.
3. A story of us, who are all trying
One of the key questions in the drama is, “Why are we all trying so hard as if we won’t disappear one day?” The teaser shows the characters of the drama not chasing after extravagant success but rather fighting to prove themselves. In addition to Hwang Dong Man, who has been unable to make his debut for 20 years, there is Byun Eun Ah fighting the fear of abandonment, Park Kyung Se who is also struggling like Hwang Dong Man despite claiming to be different, Go Hye Jin who is embarrassed by such a husband, former poet Hwang Jin Man (Park Hae Joon) who has fallen after experiencing incompetence, Oh Jung Hee (Bae Jong Ok) who is struggling with being a perfectionist, and Jang Mi Ran (Han Sun Hwa) who becomes too immersed in her roles—all fighting in their own ways.
As Jang Mi Ran states, “I’m happy. To have relationships like this where we can go crazy together,” the “worthlessness” felt by the characters turn into meaningful solidarity. The highlight teaser ends as Hwang Dong Man stating, “I’m not even looking for success. I just want to release one project. So that I can overcome a little bit of worthlessness.”
