Hani’s Family Brings Equal Parts Heartache And Comfort In “Love On The Menu”

“Love on the Menu” has offered a glimpse of the complicated dynamics of Hani’s family.

“Love on the Menu” is a family romance drama that follows Kim Moo Jin (Ha Seok Jin) and Han Gyu Rim (Hani), two former lovers who reunite eight years after a painful breakup. As they reconnect, they piece together the fragments of their broken families and create the warmest table of life together.

The new stills offer a glimpse into the eventful daily life of the Han family, highlighting the close yet complicated bonds that keep them together despite years of love and resentment.

Hani stars as Han Gyu Rim, the eldest daughter of the Han family. Park You Na plays her younger sister Han Gyu Young, while Ryu Seung Soo takes on the role of their immature father Han Seok Joong, bringing comic relief to the drama.

Bae Yoon Gyu plays Han Gyu Oh, Han Gyu Rim’s younger brother, while Park Soo Oh and Kim Min Seo portray the family’s youngest twins, Han Gyu Seo and Han Gyu Min.

Although each family member carries their own emotional wounds and approaches life differently, Han Gyu Rim remains the heart of the family. Their father Han Seok Joong constantly leans on her, while Han Gyu Young often takes advantage of her older sister’s kindness. In contrast, Han Gyu Oh and the youngest twins care for and protect Gyu Rim more than anyone else. These contrasting relationships, shaped by both affection and resentment, create the Han family’s unique dynamic and are expected to deepen the emotional impact of the story.

Park You Na And Bae Jung Nam Dish On “Love On The Menu,” Working With Hani, And More

Park You Na and Bae Jung Nam have shared more insights into their upcoming drama “Love on the Menu.”

Park You Na plays Han Gyu Young, an elite doctor who has worked hard to carve out her own success. With her lovable charm, she is expected to win over viewers despite her flaws. Bae Jung Nam takes on the role of Jo Heung Sik, a tall, charismatic man with a warm-hearted personality and a friendly regional dialect. Ahead of the drama’s premiere, Park You Na and Bae Jung Nam shared their thoughts on joining the series.

Speaking about “Love on the Menu,” Park You Na said, “The moments when family members come to understand each other through life’s struggles and conflicts feel very true to real life. It’s a drama that will make you laugh and move you at the same time.”

Bae Jung Nam added, “It’s a story about the kind of family that sometimes makes you want to walk away, but in the end, you still want to protect. It asks the universal question, ‘What is family?’ and that’s what really resonated with me.”

Park You Na’s character Han Gyu Young may come across as prickly and immature on the outside, but deep down she carries a strong sense of responsibility, believing that she must succeed in order to support her family. Park You Na shared, “It wasn’t easy to fully understand Gyu Young, who carries so much emotional pain. But as I read the script over and over, I gradually came to understand her, and before I knew it, I found myself feeling sorry for her.”

Meanwhile, Bae Jung Nam’s Jo Heung Sik may seem rough and blunt at first glance, but he is fiercely loyal and always takes care of the people he considers his own. Comparing himself to the character, Bae Jung Nam said, “His loyalty and the warmth hidden beneath his tough exterior are actually quite similar to me.” He added, “Rather than dramatic incidents, it’s through everyday moments—sharing meals and bickering—that you really see who Heung Sik is.”

Park You Na also teased her on-screen chemistry with Hani, who plays her older sister Han Gyu Rim. She said, “Hani approached me first and told me to speak comfortably, so we became close very quickly. Off camera, we joke around a lot, but once filming starts, she becomes incredibly focused, which naturally helps me immerse myself in the scene as well.”

Bae Jung Nam also spoke about working with Kang Ae Shim, who plays his mother Park Soo Nam. He shared, “Reacting to her ad-libs naturally gave me new ideas, so we had a lot of fun bouncing off each other on set.”

Finally, Park You Na said, “Playing the charming Han Gyu Young has taught me so much as an actress. I hope viewers will show her lots of love.”

Bae Jung Nam added, “This is a story about family that everyone can relate to. I hope viewers will enjoy watching it comfortably every weekend.”

Watch: Hani Wants To Lean On Ha Seok Jin Amid Troubled Family Dynamics In “Love On The Menu” Teaser

KBS2’s “Love on the Menu” has unveiled a new teaser!

“Love on the Menu” is a family romance drama that follows two former lovers who reunite eight years after a painful breakup. As they reconnect, they piece together the fragments of their broken families and create the warmest table of life together.

Ha Seok Jin plays Kim Moo Jin, a perfectly credentialed owner-chef of an Italian restaurant, while Hani plays Han Gyu Rim, a side-dish shop employee who maintains a bright spirit despite a difficult reality.

The newly released teaser begins with Han Gyu Oh (Bae Youn Kyu) feeling sorry for his eldest sister Han Gyu Rim, telling his second eldest sister Han Gyu Young (Park You Na), “Gyu Rim gave up college for you. She gave up her dreams so you could go to medical school.” However, Han Gyu Young coldly replies, “What dream does Han Gyu Rim have?” which is followed by a scene of Jo Heung Sik (Bae Jung Nam) scolding her.

The teaser further piques intrigue about Han Gyu Oh’s mysterious life. Han Gyu Seo (Park Soo Oh) tells their father Han Seok Joong (Ryu Seung Soo), “Don’t take that money. Do you know how he earned that money?” while a scene of the past shows Han Gyu Oh at the police station as a high school student. As Han Gyu Rim hugs her younger siblings, the text, “Are we family?” appears on screen.

As Han Gyu Young expresses her wishes for the chairman to be her father, Han Gyu Min (Kim Min Seo) also gives a judging look to their troublemaking father. When Han Seok Joong warns his daughter Han Gyu Rim about meeting the wrong man in life, Han Gyu Rim defends Kim Moo Jin (Ha Seok Jin), saying, “Moo Jin is different.” However, that trust appears to break through misunderstandings.

Eventually pushed to the edge, Han Gyu Rim states, “I can’t listen to your unreasonableness anymore. Don’t meddle in other people’s lives,” previewing the chaotic family and romantic dynamics to come.

Ha Seok Jin And EXID’s Hani New Drama Confirms Supporting Cast Lineup

The upcoming drama “Love Is Coming” (literal title) has revealed its supporting cast lineup!

“Love Is Coming” is a family romance drama that follows two former lovers who reunite eight years after a painful breakup. As they reconnect while navigating family responsibilities, old wounds, and life’s hardships, they begin a journey toward healing, growth, and a second chance at love.

Previously, Ha Seok Jin and EXID’s Hani were confirmed to star in the drama. Now, Park You Na, Bae Jung Nam, Min Jin Woong, Lee Joo Yeon, Bae Youn Kyu, and Jung Bo Min have joined the lineup.

Park You Na will play Han Gyu Young, the younger sister of Han Gyu Rim (Hani). Unlike her older sister, Han Gyu Young has virtually nothing in common with her. A practical realist who always plans for the future and avoids situations that put her at a disadvantage, she is expected to bring a relatable and grounded charm to the role.

Bae Jung Nam will star as Jo Heung Sik, Han Gyu Rim’s dependable longtime male friend. Living as his mother’s devoted “full-time child,” Jo Heung Sik cheerfully helps out with household chores and work at the side-dish shop, making him a reliable and upbeat presence in the lives of those around him.

Min Jin Woong will take on the role of Park Jung Woo, the CEO of a restaurant and Kim Moo Jin’s (Ha Seok Jin’s) closest friend. Having witnessed Kim Moo Jin and Han Gyu Rim’s relationship from the very beginning, Park Jung Woo is the ultimate meddler with a heart of gold—always ready to step in and lend a hand. He is expected to play a key role in the former couple’s reunion.

Lee Joo Yeon will transform into Jang Seo Hyun, a talented and charismatic fashion designer. Having harbored feelings for Kim Moo Jin for many years, Jang Seo Hyun remains by his side even after becoming the head designer of a fashion brand. Torn between love and insecurity, she finds herself struggling with complicated emotions.

Bae Youn Kyu will play Han Gyu Oh, Han Gyu Rim’s younger brother. Blessed with striking visuals and natural acting talent, Han Gyu Oh leads a precarious double life that captures the attention of many. At home, however, he is a warm-hearted younger brother who provides unwavering support to Han Gyu Rim as she endures life’s hardships.

Lastly, Jung Bo Min will star as Kwon Hee Na, a lovable elementary school teacher. After unexpectedly crossing paths again with Han Gyu Oh, who left a lasting impression on her in the past, Kwon Hee Na begins to experience new and unfamiliar emotions. Honest about her feelings even in confusing situations, she is expected to bring a spirited and refreshing energy to the drama.
