Court Rules Prison Sentence For Creator Of Deepfake Content Targeting aespa

The individual who created and distributed deepfake content targeting aespa has been sentenced to prison.

On June 18, SM Entertainment announced that the court had sentenced the perpetrator, identified as A, to two years and six months in prison for creating and selling deepfake videos of Karina and Winter for profit.

The Criminal Division 1 of the Daegu High Court also ordered A to complete 80 hours of a sexual violence treatment program and imposed a seven-year employment ban at institutions related to children and adolescents.

SM Entertainment added that it is continuing to collect evidence against those who spread malicious rumors, false information, sexually harassing content, insults, and manipulated content involving aespa, and that it will pursue legal action against such activities.

Hello, this is SM Entertainment.

We would like to inform you that a guilty verdict has been issued against the defendant in the case involving the creation and sale of deepfake videos of our artists Karina and Winter for profit. The court sentenced the defendant to two years and six months in prison, ordered the completion of 80 hours of a sexual violence treatment program, and imposed a seven-year employment restriction from institutions related to children and adolescents.

We closely monitor reports from fans as well as major domestic and international platforms, including Theqoo, Instiz, X (formerly Twitter), DC Inside, Nate Pann, MLB Park, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Ilbe, BobaeDream, FM Korea, Naver, and Daum. As noted in our previous quarterly update, investigations into deepfake-related cases, including this one, have continued to yield meaningful results.

We are also continuously filing complaints with investigative authorities against individuals who post malicious content or comments about our artists for violations of laws including the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, the Information and Communications Network Act, and the Framework Act on Telecommunications.

We have already secured a significant amount of evidence and are working with platforms and relevant institutions to identify anonymous users. We will respond firmly to the spread of malicious rumors and false information, sexual harassment, mockery, and the creation and distribution of manipulated content, without any leniency or settlements.

We will continue to make every effort to protect the rights and interests of our artists.

Court Rules Prison Sentence For Robber Of Nana’s Home

A man in his 30s who broke into the home of actress Nana and committed robbery has been sentenced to prison at the court of first instance.

On June 9, the 1st Criminal Division of the Uijeongbu District Court’s Namyangju Branch sentenced the defendant, identified as A, to seven years in prison on charges of robbery resulting in bodily injury.

The court explained the reasoning for the sentencing, stating, “The victims are reporting severe mental and physical distress and are requesting a stern punishment. As this is a serious crime that violated the peace of a residence, it is necessary to hold the defendant strictly accountable.”

The court determined that A had committed the crime while in possession of a weapon, taking into account the specific and consistent testimonies of the victims, as well as evidence showing that the defendant had searched for information regarding punishments for carrying weapons.

The court stated, “Considering the gravity of the crime, in which the defendant broke into a private home at night while armed with a weapon, a punishment commensurate with his actions is necessary.”

Notably, in line with the police’s ruling, the court also ruled that A’s injuries were the result of Nana acting in self-defense.

Previously on November 15, 2025, the Guri Police Station revealed that they had arrested a man in his 30s for breaking into Nana’s home, threatening her and her mother with a weapon and demanding money. Although Nana and her mother reportedly managed to subdue the armed robber, her agency SUBLIME revealed that both were injured by the assault.

Meanwhile, surprise one-day part-timers Lee Hyo Ri and Lee Sang Soon are expected to become reliable allies for the exhausted staff. Living up to her reputation as a veteran guesthouse host, Lee Hyo Ri quickly adapts to camp life, helping with menu planning and meal preparation, while she and Lee Sang Soon also lead a morning yoga session for guests.

Lee Sang Soon will additionally showcase his romantic side with a live guitar performance around the campfire, adding another special moment to the experience.

Court Rules In Favor Of FANTASY BOYS Members And BAE173’s Doha For Contract Suspension + Agency Responds

The court has ruled in favor of the six FANTASY BOYS members and BAE173’s Doha who filed injunctions to suspend contracts with their agency PocketDol Studio.

Back in November 2025, BAE173’s Doha along with FANTASY BOYS’ Kang Minseo, Lee Hanbin, Hikaru, Hong Sungmin, Kim Gyurae, and Kaedan filed lawsuits against PocketDol Studio seeking confirmation of the non-existence of their exclusive contracts and injunctions to suspend their validity.

On April 16, the court ruled to grant the injunctions to suspend the exclusive contracts of the six FANTASY BOYS members. While the court acknowledged that the agency had provided statements regarding payment for the first and second quarters of 2025, it identified the lack of specificity in income details and the failure to attach supporting documents as the primary causes for the breakdown of trust.

Following the court ruling, FANTASY BOYS’ agencies PocketDol Studio and Phunky Studio announced their intention to immediately appeal the decision, stating, “The practical realities of entertainment management and the contract fulfillment process were not sufficiently considered,” and added that the judgment “focused only on certain procedural requirements.”

It was additionally revealed on April 21 that the court also granted the injunction filed by Doha against PocketDol Studio.

Regarding the decision, Doha took to his Instagram to share the following message:
