Variety Show “Iron Girls” To Return For Season 3 With Geum Sae Rok, Seol In Ah, Han Ji Hyeon, And Yeonwoo

tvN’s variety show “Iron Girls” is returning for its third season!

In the first season of “Iron Girls,” all members successfully completed a triathlon, while in the second season, they all became boxing champions. This season, they will be taking on short-track speed skating.

The new season’s lineup includes Geum Sae Rok and Seol In Ah, who appeared in the previous season, as well as new cast members Han Ji Hyeon and Yeonwoo.

Geum Sae Rok, who was initially considered the weakest member last season due to physical limitations despite her burning passion, ultimately created a true comeback story by winning a gold medal in the boxing competition. She will once again take on intense training with her positive mindset.

Seol In Ah, dubbed an “all-around athletic genius” for conquering both triathlon and boxing, will also dive into the speed battle on the ice. Last season, she won the Best Athlete in Her 20s award at the Korea Sports Council President’s National Amateur Boxing Competition and was also nominated for the Best Female Entertainer Award at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards. Anticipation is high for what kind of determination and strength she will display on the rink.

Notably, this will mark Han Ji Hyeon’s first fixed variety show appearance. During a previous drama shoot, Han Ji Hyeon underwent training herself and filmed action scenes without a stunt double, so attention is now focused on her athletic ability and stamina, which have yet to be fully revealed.

Lastly, Yeonwoo will also be joining the cast this season. Yeonwoo has a unique background as a former track and field athlete who even competed as a regional representative during her childhood. Attention is focused on what kind of performance she will deliver on the ice, where even a difference of 0.01 seconds can determine the color of a medal.

“Iron Girls 3” is scheduled to premiere in the second half of the year.

Music Program “The Show” Announces Official Return

Cable music program “The Show” is officially making its return seven months after going off the air!

On May 13, YNA reported that “The Show” is preparing to resume broadcasts, with its first episode scheduled to air on June 2. According to the report, the production team has also recently met with entertainment agencies to discuss the lineup for the premiere broadcast.

“The Show” had been on hiatus since it aired its final episode in November, 2025. At the time, however, the program only stated that it was concluding its season for the year.

First launched in 2011, “The Show” has remained one of South Korea’s representative cable music programs for nearly 14 years.

The returning program will keep its original title, but will undergo a major overhaul in both its production and programming structure.

Previously, “The Show” aired on SBS funE and was produced by SBS Medianet. Production came to a halt after SBS Medianet withdrew from the entertainment business last year.

The revamped version of the show will now air on SBS LIFE, with production jointly led by SBS LIFE and entertainment-tech startup BIGC. Kim Chil Sung, BIGC’s head of performance business and a former SBS Medianet executive, will oversee the program.

Representatives of “The Show” shared, “Rather than simply returning to air, ‘The Show’ will be reborn as a global music show and deliver a new kind of media experience.”

The program also officially confirmed its return through its X (formerly Twitter) account with the playful message, “Anyone who’s been waiting for ‘The Show’? Hands up with a big circle. ‘The Show’ is making a big comeback!”

tvN’s “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier” has unveiled a new poster!

Based on a popular web novel and webtoon, “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier” is a military fantasy-comedy drama that tells the story of army cook Kang Sung Jae (Park Ji Hoon). When a mysterious quest window pops up in front of him one day, Private Kang Sung Jae begins an unexpected journey that will lead him down the path toward becoming a legendary cook.

The newly released poster shows the characters striking different poses, each surrounded by a glowing aura. The background gives the impression that they are descending from above the clouds.

In particular, Kang Sung Jae stands out in a clean cook’s uniform, giving him a neat appearance. He smiles confidently, teasing the dishes he will serve at Gangrim Outpost.

Seven soldiers appear to bloom around Kang Sung Jae like a single flower. April Variety Show Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for variety shows!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, interaction, media coverage, community awareness, and viewership indexes of 50 popular variety programs, using big data collected from March 5 to April 5.

“How Do You Play?” topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 5,443,809, marking a 4.87 percent increase in its score since March. High-ranking phrases in the show’s keyword analysis included “Yoo Jae Suk,” “HaHa,” and “Heo Kyung Hwan,” while its highest-ranking related terms included “contribute,” “fun,” and “become a regular cast member.” The program’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 91.16 percent positive reactions.

Meanwhile, “Running Man” took second place for the month with a brand reputation index of 3,849,074.

“Home Alone” (“I Live Alone”) came in at a close third with a brand reputation index of 3,778,861 for April.

“You Quiz on the Block” shot to fourth place after seeing a 108.22 percent increase in its brand reputation index, bringing its total score to 3,526,472 for April.

Finally, “My Little Old Boy” rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 3,484,370, marking a 34.84 percent rise in its score since March.
