Nana, Kim Dan, And Jung Gun Joo Confirmed For “Queen Of Tears” Director’s New Drama

Nana, Kim Dan, and Jung Gun Joo will star in Netflix’s upcoming series “Materesa” (working title)!

On September 1, Netflix confirmed the production of its new series “Materesa” and unveiled its casting lineup featuring Nana, Kim Dan, and Jung Gun Joo.

“Materesa”​ is a story about a cold-blooded criminal psychologist and professor named Ma Teresa (Nana), who investigates unsolved murder cases. She is joined by her assistant Park Seol (Kim Dan), whose innocent looks hide a secret, and her long-time friend and prosecutor Yoo A Ram (Jung Gun Joo), as the three come to confront long-hidden truths and emotions.

Ma Teresa is asked to consult on unsolved murder cases that have made headlines, while her longtime teaching assistant, Park Seol, helps investigate the cases in hopes of gaining Teresa’s attention. Meanwhile, Yoo A Ram, her longtime friend and a prosecutor, keeps a wary eye on Park Seol, who stays close to Teresa. Teresa personally confronts and interrogates criminals while following clues in each case. As she gradually gets closer to the truth she has pursued for a long time, she begins to be swept up in unexpected emotions.

Nana will play Ma Teresa, who delves into unsolved murder cases while carrying the trauma of her past. She will portray both the intense side of the character and her complex inner emotions.

Kim Dan will play Park Seol, Ma Teresa’s teaching assistant who hides a secret behind his smile. He will portray the character’s suppressed emotions and unpredictable side.

Jung Gun Joo will play Yoo A Ram, Ma Teresa’s longtime friend and a prosecutor who helps her, naturally portraying his delicate emotional dynamics.

“Materesa” will be directed by Jang Young Woo of “Queen of Tears” and “Bulgasal: Immortal Souls” and penned by writers Kwon So Ra and Seo Jae Won of “The East Palace.”

Hwang In Youp and Hyeri’s relationship is about to face a new turning point in “Dream to You”!

“Dream to You” is a romantic comedy about the reunion of genius film director Woo Soo Bin (Hwang In Youp), who returns after achieving his dreams, and reporter Ju Yi Jae (Hyeri), who has forgotten her own.

The new stills capture an awkward atmosphere between Woo Soo Bin and Ju Yi Jae during a cast dinner for “Gyeongseong Love Song.” Woo Soo Bin can’t take his eyes off Ju Yi Jae, who is seated far away from him at the gathering. Meanwhile, Ju Yi Jae wears a tense expression during a conversation, piquing curiosity about what could have happened.

Another set of stills shows the two stepping away from the gathering, where the mood between them is anything but ordinary. Woo Soo Bin looks at Ju Yi Jae with concern, while she avoids his gaze, wearing a sorrowful expression that suggests she is on the verge of tears.

Previously, in Episode 5, Woo Soo Bin belatedly learned that Ju Yi Jae had been involved in a traffic accident 15 years earlier while searching for him after he broke his promise to make a film with her and left for the United States. What repercussions will the incident from 15 years ago have on Woo Soo Bin and Ju Yi Jae’s relationship?

The production team commented, “A new variable will emerge in the relationship between Woo Soo Bin, who is now burdened by overwhelming guilt, and Ju Yi Jae, who is left with regrets over giving up on her dreams. Please look forward to seeing how Woo Soo Bin and Ju Yi Jae will achieve both their dreams and their love.”

Episode 6 of “Dream to You” will air on July 28 at 10 p.m. KST.

Watch: RESCENE Reveals Dorm + Sheds Tears While Visiting Geoje In “The Manager” Preview

RESCENE will be sharing a glimpse inside their dorm and paying a meaningful visit to Geoje on MBC’s “The Manager”!

The popular reality show has aired a preview of its upcoming episode, which will feature the members of RESCENE as guests.

The new preview starts with a montage of RESCENE’s past, when they were relatively unknown to the public. The clip then cuts to Minami and Woni’s massively viral “Geoje yaho” meme, which recently led to the group skyrocketing to fame.

Next, the preview offers a sneak peek of RESCENE’s dorm, which the members mention that they are revealing for the first time on “The Manager.” Amidst footage of the idols hanging out, joking around, and sharing clothes at home, Woni explains that they only have one bathroom in their dorm. 

Afterwards, all five members of RESCENE travel to Geoje, where a red carpet has been laid out especially for them. When the residents of Geoje recognize the group, the members get emotional, and Woni tears up.

However, the tears don’t stop there. Over a meal, the idols reminisce about the early days of their career, with Woni mentioning that they weren’t always able to perform on music shows, even when they wanted to. As the RESCENE members wipe their tears, Woni jokes, “Geoje women don’t cry!”

Park Ji Hyun will get emotional at her ex-boyfriend’s concert on the next episode of “See You at Work Tomorrow!”

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, tvN’s “See You at Work Tomorrow!” is a new romance drama starring Park Ji Hyun as Cha Ji Yoon, an office worker stuck in a career rut. After becoming entangled with her prickly boss Kang Si Woo (Seo In Guk), she winds up making a fresh start both in her career and in her love life.

On the previous episode of “See You at Work Tomorrow!”, Cha Ji Yoon’s first love Cho Ga Eul (Choi Kyung Hoon) unexpectedly showed up after ghosting her for eight months. Although she firmly told him that things were over between them, Cha Ji Yoon revealed that she hadn’t gotten over him completely when she couldn’t bear to leave his belongings out in the rain and ended up bringing them back inside.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming third episode, Cha Ji Yoon is unable to take her eyes off Cho Ga Eul as she watches him perform amidst a cheering crowd. After seeing Cho Ga Eul sing and play the guitar on stage, Cha Ji Yoon is overcome with emotion.

Despite her best efforts to move on, Cha Ji Yoon is ultimately unable to hide her feelings, and she winds up leaving the venue and bursting into tears outside.

Upcoming variety show “Bonjour Bakery” shares warmth with the elderly in a quiet rural village!

Set in a peaceful rural village, “Bonjour Bakery” is a healing baking variety show centered on Korea’s first senior French dessert cafe, where pastries are crafted using local ingredients. The show stars Kim Hee Ae, Cha Seung Won, Kim Seon Ho, and Lee Ki Taek.

Stemming from the realization that “a senior’s happiness is simple,” this project gifts a “time purely for oneself” to the parents’ generation who have lived their entire lives for their families. Seeing the seniors enjoy complete happiness through new flavors and experiences will remind viewers of their own grandmothers and parents, promising to deliver a moving, healing experience that all generations can relate to.

In the newly released teaser, Cha Seung Won serves a classic French pastry galette de rois (“King’s cake”) to the elderly. As he tries to pause those who can’t wait to dig into the dish, Cha Seung Won explains that it is tradition to hide a small charm inside it but that they hid a chestnut in one of the five cakes that were served.

When Cha Seung Won signals them to begin eating, customers cut the cake and look for the chestnut with excitement in their eyes. Soon, a elderly woman shouts in joy, “I found the chestnut!” When Cha Seung Won hands her a flower as a prize, another elderly customer suggests that the finder sing for everyone. The elderly female’s song begins to flow through the laughter-filled bakery, and everyone focuses on her voice, sharing a happy moment together.
