Ahead of its premiere later today, MBC Plus’s new drama “My Idol, My Debut” has revealed several key points to look forward to!

“My Idol, My Debut” is a time-slip coming-of-age story about a passionate fan who travels eight years into the past to prevent a tragic accident. In an effort to change fate, she winds up becoming an idol trainee.

1. THE BOYZ’s Q‘s First Leading Role

One of the biggest highlights is THE BOYZ’s Q making his debut as the lead in a drama. He stars as Han Jae Ha, a key member of the boy group BOY TO THE MOON. Drawing on his real-life experience as an idol, Q is expected to bring authenticity and charm to the role.

2. A Fresh Twist on the Time-Slip Genre

Penned by “Sh**ting Stars” writer Choi Yeon Soo, the drama follows devoted fan Choi Annie (Hwang Ji Ah), who travels back from 2026 to 2018 to save her favorite idol, Han Jae Ha. However, her mission takes an unexpected turn when she ends up becoming an idol trainee herself, setting the stage for a story that blends romance, mystery, and personal growth.

3. A Story That Extends Beyond the Screen

One of the drama’s most unique features is its expansion into the real world. The fictional girl group IRION will release original music and officially promote as a real group, bringing the drama’s universe to life. Ahead of the premiere, the group has already begun engaging with fans through its official social media accounts and web variety show “IRI ON: Real Debut.”

Lee Jin Hyuk, tripleS’s Kaede, WOOAH’s Nana, And More Transform Into Fictional Idols For Time-Slip Drama “My Idol, My Debut”

MBC Plus’s upcoming drama “My Idol, My Debut” has shared its first glimpse of Lee Jin Hyuk in character!

“My Idol, My Debut” is a time-slip coming-of-age story about a passionate fan who travels eight years into the past to prevent a tragic accident. In an effort to change fate, she winds up becoming an idol trainee. THE BOYZ’s Q will star as Han Jae Ha, a key member of the fictional boy group BOY TO THE MOON.

Lee Jin Hyuk will play the role of Ethan, a Canadian-born member of BOY TO THE MOON who is the group’s official “mood-maker” and easily gets along with other people wherever he goes.

However, in newly released stills from the upcoming drama, Ethan is seen looking scruffy as he sits on the ground in front of a convenience store with a messy hair and face, a stained plaid shirt, and ripped jeans. The sight of Ethan looking decidedly unpolished piques curiosity as to what sort of situation he has found himself in.

Also pictured outside the convenience store are the members of girl group IRION: Choi Ae Ni (Hwang Ji Ah), Aji (WOOAH’s Nana), Karin (tripleS’s Kaede), and AISA. Sitting at a table with triangle kimbap and banana milk, the quartet poses for the camera with cute expressions befitting a girl group.

THE BOYZ’s Q Is An Idol Searching For His Childhood Friend In New Time-Slip Drama “My Idol, My Debut”

The production team of “My Idol, My Debut” has released the first stills of THE BOYZ’s Q in character!

“My Idol, My Debut” is a time-slip coming-of-age story about a passionate fan who travels eight years into the past to prevent a tragic accident. She becomes an idol trainee in an effort to change fate.

In the drama, the boy group Boy to the Moon and the girl group IRION begin as fictional groups within the story. They later debut as real idols through official music releases and stage performances. It blends drama with K-pop promotions, marking a first-of-its-kind approach in South Korea.

The newly released stills below feature Q who has transformed into Han Jae Ha—a central character and key member of Boy to the Moon with exceptional talent and a distinct star aura. He is dressed in a school uniform, exuding youthful vibe. While he radiates a bright and pure charm as he smiles broadly while sitting at his desk, another image shows him gazing into the distance with deep, story-laden emotion, heightening curiosity about his character.

The accompanying story content also grabs attention. Han Jae Ha says, “There was a friend who gave me courage when I was in school. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be here now. I want her to listen to this song somewhere.” The relationship with this friend, whose identity has yet to be revealed, and the secrets hidden within it, spark curiosity about the drama’s plot.

Particularly eye-catching are the stills that bring to mind the Korean quiz show “Golden Bell Challenge.” The image of Han Jae Ha wearing a baseball cap and holding a whiteboard with the words “Memento Mori” written on it adds to the intrigue regarding how this connects to the time-slip narrative, which is a core element of the drama.
