&TEAM, RIIZE, TXT, And More Earn Platinum And Gold Certifications In Japan
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
This month, &TEAM’s new Japanese EP “We on Fire” earned an official triple platinum certification for over 750,000 units shipped in Japan. According to the RIAJ’s certification thresholds, albums are certified gold at 100,000 units shipped and platinum at 250,000.
Meanwhile, RIIZE’s latest Japanese single album “All of You” was certified double platinum for over 500,000 units shipped in Japan.
TXT’s new Korean mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” was certified platinum for over 250,000 units shipped in Japan.
Finally, both NiziU’s new Japanese EP “GOOD GIRL BUT NOT FOR YOU” and aoen’s latest Japanese single album “INSTANT CRUSH” were certified gold for over 100,000 units shipped in Japan each.

Billboard has published its World Albums chart for the week ending on May 23!
CORTIS’s new EP “GREENGREEN” jumped to No. 1 on this week’s World Albums chart, in addition to becoming their first album to enter the top 10 of the Billboard 200. CORTIS’s debut EP “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” also held steady at No. 6 in its 36th week on the World Albums chart.
After debuting at No. 1 last week, ILLIT’s new mini album “MAMIHLAPINATAPAI” fell to No. 2 in its second week on the World Albums chart.
BTS landed a total of four albums on this week’s chart: “Proof” climbed back up to No. 3 in its 205th week on the chart, followed by “Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~” at No. 11 (in its 28th week), “Love Yourself: Tear” at No. 16 (in its 216th week), and “Love Yourself: Her” at No. 25 (in its 182nd week).
TXT’s latest mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” stayed strong at No. 4 in its fifth week on the chart.
ENHYPEN’s latest mini album “THE SIN : VANISH” took No. 7 in its 17th week on the chart, while their 2024 album “ROMANCE : UNTOLD” climbed back up to No. 23 in its 96th week.
Stray Kids charted three albums this week: “DO IT” rose to No. 8 in its 25th week on the chart, with “KARMA” coming in at No. 19 (in its 38th week) and “ATE” holding steady at No. 22 (in its 95th week).
Meanwhile, NewJeans’ “Get Up” rounded out its 140th week on the chart at No. 15.

After two weeks at No. 1, TXT’s latest mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” fell to No. 3 in its fourth week on the World Albums chart.
BTS landed an impressive total of five entries on this week’s World Albums chart: “Proof” and “Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~” stayed strong at No. 4 and No. 10 respectively, while “Love Yourself: Tear” and “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever” re-entered the chart at No. 19 and No. 23. Finally, “Love Yourself: Her” rounded out the top 25 for the week.

7 K-Pop Tracks That Turn It Up With A Hyperpop-Inspired Beat
You might not think that you’ve heard hyperpop before. After all, it’s got a pretty wild name! Believe it or not though, the hyperpop sound has been a staple in K-pop for years. If you’re already a fan of hyperpop-inspired tracks and looking for new song recs or just want to learn more about the sound that K-pop has been working with for a while now, this is the list for you.
1. aespa’s “Hot Mess”
A Japan release that doesn’t get nearly as much hype as it should, “Hot Mess” cements aespa’s place as the ruling hyperpop queens in the K-pop industry. The statement-making electronic backtrack combined with the members’ hypnotic vocals make this song super addictive. If you’re a fan of the hyperpop sound in K-pop, then aespa is the group for you!
2. SEVENTEEN’s “GAM3 BO1”
Here’s to the true hyperpop fans—SEVENTEEN’s hip hop line showed up and served! With the chaotic, bouncy backing track and the unapologetic autotune, “GAM3 BO1” is what a hyperpop-inspired song really sounds like. What might sound like over-production to some is a statement to others, and you can’t deny that this track is just so fun to listen to!
3. ITZY’s “24HRS”
This song might throw you for a loop once, or twice! The repetitive line is quickly broken by a surprisingly melodic pre-chorus, and when combined with that heavy electric track, it makes for a song that you just can’t get bored of. “24HRS” isn’t a song for everyone, but the true hyperpop fans will get it. ITZY has proved that they can make every genre work for them!
4. TXT’s “Frost”
Blending trap and hyperpop in a way that only TXT could, “Frost” stands out immediately with its unique sound. The clashing backtrack really sets the unsettling aura in motion, and the heavy vocals are just the cherry on top! The result is a song that has that hyperpop edge without sounding overly done. It’s a song that you’ll want to listen to over and over!
5. Choi Ye Na’s “Catch Catch”
If you prefer your hyperpop blended with something brighter, Choi Ye Na’s “Catch Catch” might just be the song for you! The busy backing track carries a lot of that hyperpop energy, but it’s that infectious, repetitive (in a good way) chorus that really nails it. It’s rare to see a song this unapologetically bubblegum these days, but Ye Na has done it perfectly!
6. NCT DREAM’s “Best of Me”
“Best of Me” by NCT DREAM leans on the hyperpop influence but doesn’t let it take over the song, so the members’ vocals really shine! The backing track hints at an energetic hyperpop sound without screaming it, and the subdued chorus takes advantage of editing without drowning out the vocals. There’s something about it that just sounds right.
7. f(x)’s “Kick”
Rounding out the list with a 2nd gen K-pop song bringing some hardcore hyperpop energy—it’s “Kick” by f(x)! This group is known for their experimental sound, and the brash, brassy line running throughout works super well in contrast with the low-key pre-chorus. If the “digital age” could be summed up in just one song, this might be it. It’s eclectic, electric, and totally iconic!

Monthly Album Chart
TXT achieved a double crown on this month’s Circle charts, topping both the overall physical album chart and the digital download chart for April.
All of the top five spots on this month’s chart went to new releases, led by TXT’s latest mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns,” which debuted at No. 1.
NCT WISH’s “Ode to Love” entered the chart at No. 2, &TEAM’s “We on Fire” at No. 3, TWS’s “NO TRAGEDY” at No. 4, and PLAVE’s “Caligo Pt.2” at No. 5.
Weekly Album Chart

KMA (KM Chart Awards) 2026 Announces 1st Lineup
The KMA (KM Chart Awards) 2026 has revealed its first lineup of artists!
On May 11, the KMA 2026 officially announced that TXT, ALLDAY PROJECT, CORTIS, KickFlip, LNGSHOT, 82MAJOR, and VVUP would all be performing at the upcoming awards ceremony.
The KMA 2026 will be held on July 25 at Korea University’s Hwajeong Tiger Dome in Seoul.
