Yoo Seung Ho Opens Up About His Villain Role In “Flex X Cop 2,” His First Photo Exhibition, And More

Yoo Seung Ho recently joined Cosmopolitan Korea for a pictorial and interview!

In the interview that followed the photo shoot, Yoo Seung Ho remarked, “I really like the vibe captured today. At first glance, it might look dark or profound, but I feel like that comes across in a good way. The bright and energetic sides [of myself] are good, too, but I also have a desire to show a heavier, more reserved side of myself.”

Yoo Seung Ho, who recently pulled off his first villain role in 14 years as Yoo Sung Won in the drama “Flex x Cop 2,” also shared his thoughts on the character. He said, “For this project, I created a lot together with the director starting from my initial approach [to the role]. For example, Yoo Sung Won is a character who has a strange fascination with corpses, so we worked on how to express that, along with how he treats the people around him almost like objects and looks down on them. Actually, I wanted to create recurring habits or behaviors [for the character] that could be seen throughout the drama, but there weren’t many scenes in which viewers got to see Sung Won. I thought it would be difficult to make those traits recognizable, so there were things I boldly left out.”

The actor also spoke about the special meaning the project holds for him, saying, “I definitely think that being able to show various sides of myself as an actor is wonderful and something I’m grateful for. I think there’s a wide variety of reasons behind the good or evil that any character possesses, and the last time I explored that kind of diversity through acting was probably ‘I Miss You.’ That’s why I agreed to do ‘Flex x Cop 2’ before I had even finished reading the entire script. I think this project could give me the opportunity to take on good and evil roles, and even characters with ways of thinking I myself had never considered before.”

Starting on October 3, Yoo Seung Ho will hold his first film photography exhibition, “BLUE HOUR.” While he has so far shown audiences what he looks like in front of the camera as an actor, this exhibition will allow him to share his perspective as a photographer from behind the camera.

Sharing this thoughts on preparing for the exhibition, Yoo Seung Ho said with a laugh, “Even if people don’t praise me by saying I took really great photos, I wouldn’t want to hear them say, ‘These photos are really bad.’ Of course, I should naturally accept criticism about my shortcomings, but even so, I’m doing my best to make sure everyone can enjoy the photo exhibition.”

The upcoming exhibition will feature photos from Yoo Seung Ho’s trips to the United States and Mongolia. When asked what kind of photos he would like to take in the future, he said, “What I realized after visiting Mongolia was that I want to travel much more in the future. I especially enjoyed capturing everyday life and people in other countries. While preparing for this exhibition, there were also ways in which my approach to taking photos and my attitude toward photography changed. If I apply those things when taking photos, I expect that I’ll be able to create more interesting photographs in the future.”

Regarding how he has changed as a photographer, he said, “The CEO who is organizing this exhibition told me to photograph the same subject multiple times. I remembered what he said and tried it, and I realized that every photo had a completely different feel. Another change I noticed this time was that I started varying the eye level from which I photograph my subjects. Before, I mostly photographed from above looking down, but I learned that sitting down and making eye contact with the subject can create an interestingly different feeling.”

Finally, when asked about a side of himself he has yet to encounter and is therefore curious about, he replied, “If I get the opportunity, I’d like to once again immerse myself completely in a project and meet the version of myself who acts with fierce intensity as that character.”

Ha Jung Woo Reported To Play Villain In Byeon Woo Seok’s “Solo Leveling” Live-Action Adaptation + Agency Comments

Ha Jung Woo may be making a special appearance in Netflix’s upcoming live-action series “Solo Leveling”!

On September 23, SPOTV News reported that Ha Jung Woo is set to make a special appearance in “Solo Leveling.”

In response to the report, his agency WALKHOUSECOMPANY briefly commented, “Nothing has been confirmed.”

Ha Jung Woo has reportedly been offered the role of Hwang Dong Soo. In the original story, Hwang Dong Soo is an S-rank Hunter and one of the major villains who comes into conflict with protagonist Sung Jin Woo.

Notably, Ha Jung Woo previously worked with “Solo Leveling” co-directors Lee Hae Jun and Kim Byung Seo on the 2019 film “Ashfall.”

“Solo Leveling,” which originally began as a web novel before being adapted into a webtoon and an animated series, tells the story of Sung Jin Woo, an E-rank Hunter—the lowest tier among those who protect the real world from monsters beyond the mysterious Gates. After a near-death experience, he gains extraordinary abilities, and as he levels up, he becomes humanity’s unexpected hope.

The drama previously confirmed Byeon Woo Seok will lead the series as Sung Jin Woo, while Han So Hee and Kang You Seok are in talks for the roles of Cha Hae In and Yoo Jin Ho, respectively. Kang Mina, Rain, Lee Sung Min, Lee Hong Nae, Sung Joon,  Kim Si Ah, and Choi Myeong Been are also in talks to join the cast.

“Solo Leveling” has been filming since May, though its premiere date has yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Ha Jung Woo is currently filming the upcoming movie “Inside Men: The Birth of the Villains” (literal title).

“Flex X Cop 2” Director Dishes On Casting Yoo Seung Ho As The Drama’s New Villain

The production team behind “Flex x Cop 2” has revealed how Yoo Seung Ho came to make his special appearance in the upcoming drama!

In “Flex x Cop 2,” Ahn Bo Hyun reprises his starring role as Jin Yi Soo, a third-generation chaebol heir turned detective who uses his wealth and connections like cheat codes whenever an investigation reaches a dead end, while Jung Eun Chae plays veteran detective Joo Hye Ra, Jin Yi Soo’s new partner.

On August 4, the cast and crew attended the press conference for SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Flex x Cop 2” at the SBS Hall in Seoul. During the event, director Kim Jae Hong introduced Yoo Seung Ho’s character Yoo Sung Won a mysterious chaebol and the drama’s villain.

Speaking about Yoo Seung Ho’s special appearance as Yoo Sung Won, Kim Jae Hong described him as “a layered character who plays a key role in the latter half of the story.” The director continued, “He’s a third-generation chaebol with wealth comparable to Jin Yi Soo’s and a world-renowned sculptor. Yoo Sung Won is also a mysterious figure whom Joo Hye Ra has long suspected, and he becomes central to the story in the second half of the series.”

The director went on to explain how Yoo Seung Ho was cast. He shared, “We gave this casting a lot of thought. I had previously worked with Yoo Seung Ho on ‘My Strange Hero,’ and while reading the script, I kept thinking, ‘This role would be difficult for anyone but Yoo Seung Ho.’ So I reached out to him personally.”

The director then shared that Yoo Seung Ho’s “special appearance” turned out to be more substantial than expected, joking, “His appearance is a ‘special appearance’ because he appears ‘especially’ a lot. We originally planned to keep him hidden and have him make his first appearance in the middle of the series, but once we started filming, we realized there was no way we could hide a face like his. So we decided not to save him and had him appear from the beginning.”

“Flex x Cop 2” premieres on August 7 at 9:50 p.m. KST.

“The Husband” is a thriller that follows Kang Tae Joo (Namkoong Min), a man who becomes entangled in a desperate battle against a dangerous criminal after his wife is kidnapped just before their divorce.

In the previous episode, Kim Kyung Ae (Lee Sang Hee), who underwent surgery performed by Kang Tae Joo, appeared to know the secret of Go Dong Chan (Jang Gwang), Kang Tae Joo’s father-in-law and the hospital director, leaving viewers shocked. The episode also delivered a series of unpredictable twists, including Noh Man Hee (Kim Dae Myeung) murdering someone before threatening a local resident’s granddaughter to confirm Kim Kyung Ae’s condition, further heightening anticipation for the next episode.

Watch: Ahn Bo Hyun And Jung Eun Chae Take On New Villain Yoo Seung Ho And A String Of Brutal Crimes In “Flex x Cop 2”

“Flex x Cop 2” has unveiled an intense new teaser!

In “Flex x Cop 2,” Ahn Bo Hyun reprises his starring role as Jin Yi Soo, a third-generation chaebol heir turned detective who uses his wealth and connections like cheat codes whenever an investigation reaches a dead end.

The new teaser offers a glimpse of the season’s expanded scale and heightened suspense. Unlike the playful, stylish tone of the first season, the new teaser focuses on a string of major crimes and detectives facing life-threatening situations, hinting at a darker direction for Season 2.

Notably, the teaser introduces new chaebol character Yoo Sung Won (Yoo Seung Ho). From his big smile with blood splattered across his face to the flashes of his hysterical expression, the teaser paints him as a chilling new villain. In one scene, he cryptically says, “The worst thing I’ve ever done? That’s a secret,” raising questions about his true identity and hidden past.

The teaser also highlights Jin Yi Soo’s growth as a detective. Confronting someone, he declares, “I sent you to prison so you’d become a better person, but you came back as garbage,” showing a stronger and more commanding side. Meanwhile, new team leader Joo Hye Ra (Jung Eun Chae) displays her calm, decisive leadership as she firmly interrogates suspects.

The cases awaiting the duo are also more intense than ever. Beginning with the discovery of a mummified body inside a suitcase, the season features a series of increasingly elaborate and brutal crimes, including kidnappings and murders. As dangerous criminals run rampant, both Jin Yi Soo and Joo Hye Ra also find themselves facing life-threatening situations.

Even so, neither backs down. With Joo Hye Ra declaring, “There’s no such thing as the perfect crime,” both throw everything they have into taking down the villains, combining Jin Yi Soo’s wealth and investigative skills with Joo Hye Ra’s strong leadership.

Kim Dae Myeung Is A Villain With Two Faces In “The Husband”

KBS 2TV’s “The Husband” has shared a new glimpse of Kim Dae Myeung’s unnerving duality.

“The Husband” is a new thriller starring Namkoong Min as a man on the brink of divorce who unexpectedly becomes embroiled in a desperate fight with a dangerous criminal in order to rescue his wife.

Spoilers

On the previous episode of “The Husband,” Kim Dae Myeung left a strong impression on viewers as Noh Man Hee, the ruthless man who kidnapped Go Se Yoon (Lee Seol). When Go Se Yoon’s mother offered him 3 billion won (approximately $2 million) for the return of her daughter, the offer only served to provoke his rage, leading him to strangle Go Se Yoon while her loved ones watched in horror. Noh Man Hee then sent an incriminating video of Kang Tae Joo (Namkoong Min) to the police, making him the primary suspect in the investigation.

The upcoming third and fourth episodes of the drama will depict Noh Man Hee’s chilling duality in even further detail. A two-faced villain hiding in plain sight, Noh Man Hee seems on the surface to be a friendly guy who takes care of his neighbors, whether helping an elderly woman by fixing her computer or smiling warmly while waiting for his food at a restaurant.

However, Noh Man Hee reveals his true colors in other photos, threatening someone over the phone and monitoring Go Se Yoon through a screen with a menacing expression. He is also seen wearing a mask while carrying out his crimes as a ruthless kidnapper.

Ong Seong Wu Talks About Taking On His First-Ever Villain Role In “Spooky In Love”

Ong Seong Wu has shared his thoughts on his upcoming drama “Spooky in Love”!

A remake of the 2011 film “Spellbound,” “Spooky in Love” is an occult romance drama about the chaotic partnership between Cheon Yeo Ri (Park Eun Bin), a hotel heiress who can see ghosts, and Ma Gang Wook (Yang Se Jong), a passionate prosecutor who is terrified of them.

Returning to the small screen, Ong Seong Wu signals a 180-degree shift from the youthful, fresh-faced image he showed in his previous roles as he takes on the villain Kang Min Hwan.

Ong Seong Wu explained his reason for choosing the project, saying, “Since the original film was widely loved, I was excited about its remake. I thought I could bring new tension to the story through an original character named Kang Min Hwan, who did not appear in the original.”
