Lee Hyun Wook Is A Formidable King Determined To End 600 Years Of War In “The Great King Munmu”

The upcoming historical drama “The Great King Munmu” has unveiled new stills of Lee Hyun Wook!

Directed by Kim Yeong Jo of “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth,” “The Great King Munmu” follows the tale of how the small kingdom of Silla overcame the stronger states of Goguryeo, Baekje, and the Tang dynasty of China to unify the Three Kingdoms.

Lee Hyun Wook plays Kim Pom Min, the birth name of the man who would later take the name Munmu upon ascending the throne as Silla’s 30th king. As a ruler, he achieves the monumental feat of unifying the Three Kingdoms through cool-headed strategy and fierce determination. Kim Pom Min is a formidable figure with the courage and resolve to overwhelm his opponents, but he is also a multidimensional character who knows when to bend for the sake of his country, embodying the saying, “Bend, but never break.”

As the eldest son of Kim Chun Chu (personal name of King Taejong Muyeol) (Kim Kang Woo), the 29th king of Silla, he grew up learning diplomacy and political maneuvering from his father, while learning battle tactics and leadership from his maternal uncle, Silla’s famed general Kim Yu Sin (Park Sung Woong). Following their teachings, he ultimately brings an end to the long-running wars and ushers in an era of peace.

The newly released stills capture the various sides of Kim Pom Min, a character who possesses both literary and military talents. His gentle smile and bright, intelligent gaze offer a glimpse into the passion and warmth that he harbors within before ascending to the throne.

In another still, however, Kim Pom Min exudes a weighty charisma as a more mature king. His sense of responsibility and unwavering determination to protect his country amid endless war capture the immense burden of the lonely throne that Kim Pom Min must bear alone.

The production team commented, “Lee Hyun Wook has delicately portrayed the complex emotions experienced by Kim Pom Min through his nuanced acting. Upcoming drama “Sacred Jewel” has released its first teaser!

“Sacred Jewel” is set in the year 1258 during the Goryeo Dynasty, when the kingdom is on the brink of defeat after 30 years of war with Mongolia. The story follows the heroic fight of an expedition unit that sets out onto the battlefield in search of a sacred relic—the Avalokitesvara Bead, believed to hold divine power to protect the nation—and a princess who seeks to save them.

The newly released teaser opens with Baek Gyeol’s (Ahn Bo Hyun) voice-over, “In the early 13th century, the Mongol Empire invaded Goryeo.”

The teaser then offers a glimpse of the war’s brutality as blood-soaked battlefields, fierce clashes, crumbling fortresses, and soldiers falling one after another flash across the screen. In one scene, Choi Gu (Lee Sung Min), the leader of the elite Goryeo unit “Yabyeolcho” and a seasoned veteran who has survived countless battles, collapses, emphasizing the brutality of the war.

An order is issued to recover the Avalokitesvara Bead, a sacred relic believed to protect the nation and capable of turning not only the fate of the country but also the outcome of the war. An expedition team including Baek Gyeol, the expedition unit’s special commander Choi Gu, the expedition team’s guide Geol Seung (Ha Yun Kyung), and the emperor’s youngest daughter Wang Hee (Claudia Kim) sets out on a journey to retrieve the sacred relic.

ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Han Bin will return as the host of “Street World Fighter: Directors’ War”!

On July 14, Mnet announced that Sung Han Bin will return as the MC of “Street World Fighter: Directors’ War,” after successfully hosting last year’s “World of Street Woman Fighter.”

“Street World Fighter: Directors’ War” is the latest expansion of Mnet’s “Street Woman Fighter” franchise that puts performance directors—the creative minds behind planning and producing stages—at center stage.

Ahead of the premiere, Sung Han Bin shared, “As someone who loves dance, it’s such an honor to return as an MC once again. I’ll do my very best to bring the excitement and intensity of the competition on set to viewers.”

He continued, “I carefully rewatched ‘World of Street Woman Fighter’ and spent a lot of time studying the tone and pacing of my hosting. I prepared extensively so I could deliver the show’s energy and the atmosphere on set even more vividly.”

According to the production team, he even remarked during filming that “my job satisfaction is at an all-time high,” reflecting his genuine affection for the program.

Sung Han Bin also highlighted what sets this season apart. He shared, “In previous seasons, the biggest source of excitement came from the dancers’ performances and battles. This time, the performance directors’ brilliant ideas and the way they construct each stage will be the biggest highlights. There are so many truly incredible pieces that viewers can look forward to.”

Having worked closely with performance directors throughout his own career, the show holds special significance for him as well. He explained, “From a performer’s perspective, having a director who brings a professional eye is both reassuring and inspiring. I think the process of creating the best possible stage together is what matters most.”

The filming process also inspired him creatively. He shared, “Watching the mission where the directors reinterpreted one another’s signature choreography gave me a lot of inspiration. I also gained a new appreciation for contemporary dance, and I was so impressed that I even looked up videos of the contestants’ past competition performances.”

Lee Dong Wook and Kim Hye Joon are gearing up for an all-out war in “A Shop for Killers 2”!

Based on the novel “The Killer’s Shopping List,” “A Shop for Killers” is an action drama that follows Jeong Ji An (Kim Hye Joon), who moves in with her uncle Jeong Jin Man (Lee Dong Wook) after her parents’ passing. Jin Man runs a shopping mall, but when he suddenly dies, Ji An inherits his secret and dangerous legacy and becomes the target of suspicious killers. Season 2 follows Ji An, who becomes the shopping mall’s new CEO. She joins forces with Jin Man, who returns alive, to fight back against the global forces of Babylon.

The newly released posters capture the moment the black-market platform Murthehelp, led by Jin Man and Ji An, clashes with an even stronger Babylon, now reinforced by its East Asia branch. Also reunited on Jin Man’s side are his trusted allies and strongest fighters—Min Hye (Geum Hae Na) and Pasin (Kim Min)—along with the team’s strategist Brother (Lee Tae Young).

Facing them are Babylon’s forces, including Season 1’s main villain Bale (Jo Han Sun), as well as newly introduced key figures Kusanagi (Jung Yun Ha), Q (Hyunri), and Jay (Masaki Okada), all of whom exude an intimidating presence. As the two sides face off, the tagline “An Unavoidable War” hints at Babylon’s full-scale assault and Murthehelp’s desperate counterattack to protect the shopping mall.

The newly released trailer marks the beginning of a new war as Babylon’s global organization finally makes its move. Determined to bring down Jin Man, Babylon targets his greatest weakness—his niece Ji An—while Jin Man once again steps forward to protect her, setting the stage for an intense battle from which neither side can retreat.

Meanwhile, after leaving the shopping mall of her own accord, Ji An finds herself caught in another unexpected crisis. A scene of her crying out in despair raises questions about what ultimately forces her to return to the world of killers. Her determined declaration, “Listen carefully, Uncle,” along with her newfound confidence as the head of the shopping mall standing on the front lines, highlights just how much Ji An has grown.

Adding to the intrigue, Jay’s cryptic remark, “It’s been a long time, Jeong Jin Man,” hints at a hidden past connecting Jin Man and the mercenaries of Babylon’s East Asia branch.

The trailer concludes with a barrage of action-packed sequences, featuring everything from humanoid robots and large-scale gunfights to brutal hand-to-hand combat and an arsenal of flashy weapons, promising an even bigger and more spectacular scale than Season 1.

Mnet’s “Street World Fighter: Directors’ War” has unveiled its main poster!

Beyond choreography, the directors oversee movement, staging, and overall use of the stage, and are expected to engage in intense battles, thinking strategically and proving themselves through movement.

Notably, the show sets up uncompromising matchups among choreographers competing to have their names included in the “director credit.”

The poster features 10 choreographers, each showcasing distinct personalities and aura. NAIN, RENAN, BADA, Back Kooyoung, BABYZOO, Simeez, INGYOO, Jeong Minjun, KASPER, and Hash appear seated in chairs, each expressing a clear individual identity through different styling and poses.

“Reborn Rookie” has unveiled new stills of its key supporting characters!

“Reborn Rookie” follows Kang Yong Ho (Son Hyun Joo), the powerful chairman of the leading conglomerate Choi Sung Group, who is revered as a business genius. After an accident, however, he unexpectedly finds himself living a second life when his soul swaps into the youthful body of a soccer player named Hwang Jun Hyun (Lee Jun Young), forcing him to start over as a rookie employee at his own company.

Following the accident involving Chairman Kang Yong Ho, a fierce succession battle erupts over the vacant chairman position. Alongside Hwang Jun Hyun (Lee Jun Young)—who now carries Kang Yong Ho’s soul—attention is also focused on the allies who stand beside the chairman’s children: youngest daughter Kang Bang Geul (Lee Ju Myoung), eldest daughter Kang Jae Kyung (Jeon Hye Jin), and eldest son Kang Jae Sung (Jin Goo).

However, he is thrown into confusion when Hwang Jun Hyun suddenly claims, “I am Kang Yong Ho.”

Meanwhile, Lee Seo An will play Na Eun Se, the eldest daughter-in-law of the Choi Sung family and the heiress of Tae Ha Group.
