KATSEYE Sets Record On Billboard 200 As “WILD” Debuts At No. 1

KATSEYE has just made Billboard 200 history with their first-ever No. 1 album!

On August 23 local time, Billboard announced that KATSEYE’s new EP “WILD” had debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it the group’s first album ever to top the chart.

According to Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music), “WILD” earned a total of 170,000 equivalent album units during the week ending on August 20, marking a new career high for KATSEYE.

The EP’s total score consisted of 145,000 traditional album sales—making it the best-selling album of the week in the United States and marking another personal record for the group— and 24,500 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, which translates to 26.95 million on-demand audio streams over the course of the week. The album also racked up 500 track equivalent album (TEA) units in its first week.

Notably, “WILD” has achieved the largest week by units for an all-female group since the Billboard 200 first began ranking by units in December 2015. Additionally, “WILD” earned the biggest pure album sales week for an all-female group since TWICE’s “READY TO BE” three years ago (which debuted with 146,000 traditional album sales in its first week back in 2023).

“WILD” is KATSEYE’s second top 10 album and third chart entry overall on the Billboard 200, which the group previously entered with “SIS (Soft Is Strong)” (which peaked at No. 98) and “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS” (No. 4).

Congratulations to KATSEYE on their impressive new record!

KATSEYE is soaring to new heights in the United Kingdom!

This week, KATSEYE achieved their highest rankings yet on both the United Kingdom’s Official Albums Chart and Official Singles Chart, which are widely regarded as the U.K. equivalent to the United States’ Billboard charts.

KATSEYE’s new EP “WILD” debuted at No. 2 on the Official Albums Chart, making it the group’s first top 50 album and their second chart entry overall. The group’s first entry was their previous EP “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS,” which spent one week on the chart last year at No. 55.

KATSEYE’s pre-release single “Animal” also jumped to a new peak of No. 12 in its fourth week on the Official Singles Chart, marking a career high for the group.

Additionally, two of KATSEYE’s new songs from “WILD” entered the Official Singles Chart this week: “Hootie Frutti” debuted at No. 16, while their B-side “Bel Air” debuted at No. 97.

Notably, KATSEYE has become the first girl group since Little Mix in 2021 to score five top 40 hits in a single calendar year on the Official Singles Chart. KATSEYE entered the top 40 earlier this year with “Internet Girl” (which peaked at No. 24), “PINKY UP” (No. 14), their LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT collab “ICONIC BY MISTAKE” (No. 22), and “Animal,” making “Hootie Frutti” their fifth top 40 single of 2026.

With the new additions of “Hootie Frutti” and “Bel Air,” KATSEYE now boasts a total of nine chart entries overall: the group also previously entered the Official Singles Chart with “Gnarly” (No. 52), “Gabriela” (No. 38), and “Touch” (No. 82).

Kang Dong Won, Um Tae Goo, And Park Ji Hyun Stun In Retro-Futuristic Concept Photos For “Wild Sing”

The comedy film “Wild Sing” has unveiled striking concept photos of TRIANGLE’s second album!

“Wild Sing” follows the story of TRIANGLE, a once-popular co-ed trio that fell into obscurity after an unfortunate incident. The film depicts their chaotic journey as they attempt to reunite and make a comeback.

The newly released concept photos for TRIANGLE’s second album “Shout It Out” present a stark contrast to the bright and youthful image of their first album’s title track “Love Is.” Matching the album’s concept as a hybrid dance track that combines a heavy, turn-of-the-millennium sound with social commentary on environmental issues, the members transform into Y2K-inspired cyber warriors.

Dressed in metallic silver outfits, the three members each showcase their individuality while embracing a bold, rebellious aesthetic. From individual shots featuring intense gazes that command attention to group photos brimming with free-spirited energy, the images recreate the distinctive visual trends of the era.

As Hyun Woo, the group’s leader and dance machine, Kang Dong Won captivates with silver-highlighted hair and a sun visor, radiating charisma. Um Tae Goo, who plays the fierce rapper Sang Gu, channels unapologetic hip-hop energy through a metallic oversized jacket, silver chains, and a bold hairstyle. Meanwhile, Park Ji Hyun transforms into TRIANGLE’s charismatic center Do Mi, completing her powerful girl-crush look with a daring crop top and dramatic smoky makeup.

Kang Ki Young, Park Hae Mi, And Kim Ki Chun Stand In The Way Of Kang Dong Won, Park Ji Hyun, And Um Tae Goo In “Wild Sing”

The upcoming comedy film “Wild Sing” has unveiled new character stills of its scene-stealing special guests!

“Wild Sing” is a comedy movie that follows the story of TRIANGLE, a once-popular co-ed trio that fell into obscurity after an unfortunate incident. The film depicts their chaotic journey as they attempt to reunite and make a comeback.

Kang Ki Young, Park Hae Mi, and Kim Ki Chun will make special appearances as a trio of memorable characters who create obstacles for TRIANGLE’s members along the way.

Kang Ki Young stars as Na Tae Poong, a former lesser-known member of the dance group Megaton who has since become a major variety show star. He will showcase a fun rivalry with Hyun Woo (Kang Dong Won), whose fortunes have dramatically reversed over the years.

Praising the actor’s performance, director Son Jae Gon shared, “The ideas Kang Ki Young brought to the role were so entertaining that I wanted to keep watching him act even after we got the OK cut.”

Sporting a striking blonde look, Park Hae Mi transforms into Do Mi’s (Park Ji Hyun‘s) wealthy mother-in-law. Her character delivers laughs through an unconventional “contact-free mother-in-law” dynamic, constantly nagging her daughter-in-law via tablet video calls.

Director Son Jae Gon remarked, “She has an energy that commands attention even when she’s simply sitting still. She was the perfect casting choice for this role.”

Completing the lineup, Kim Ki Chun plays Boss Go, a loan shark who appears to collect the investment money poured into Sang Gu’s (Um Tae Goo‘s) solo album. Known for his warm and humorous image, Kim Ki Chun is set to surprise viewers with a much colder and more intimidating presence.

Expressing his excitement for the actor’s transformation, director Son Jae Gon commented, “He’s an actor with the tremendous ability to completely pull off villainous roles as well.”

“Wild Sing” will premiere on June 3.
