aespa’s Winter Diagnosed With Shingles; To Sit Out Today’s Concert In Dallas

aespa’s Winter will not be joining the rest of the group at their concert in Dallas today.

On September 29 local time, SM Entertainment announced that Winter had been diagnosed with shingles and would therefore be unable to perform at aespa’s show in Dallas later that day.

The agency explained in English, “Winter had been experiencing health issues prior to the recent Miami show [on September 26]. However, determined to take the stage alongside the other members, she went ahead with the performance. As her condition did not sufficiently improve afterward, she visited a hospital following the Miami show for further examination and was diagnosed with shingles.”

SM Entertainment went on to share that even though Winter had remained “strongly committed” to performing at the Dallas show even after her diagnosis, it was decided that she would sit out the concert “following the medical team’s recommendation that her health and sufficient recovery must take priority.”

The agency’s full English announcement is as follows:

We would like to inform you that Winter will be unable to participate in aespa’s Dallas show, including the Hi-Bye and Send-Off.

Winter had been experiencing health issues prior to the recent Miami show. However, determined to take the stage alongside the other members, she went ahead with the performance. As her condition did not sufficiently improve afterward, she visited a hospital following the Miami show for further examination and was diagnosed with shingles.

Even after her diagnosis, Winter remained strongly committed to participating in the upcoming show and focused on her recovery up until the last possible moment, while continuing to monitor her condition to determine whether she would be able to perform. However, following the medical team’s recommendation that her health and sufficient recovery must take priority, the company and Winter carefully discussed the situation and ultimately decided that she will unfortunately sit out the Dallas show and take the necessary time to rest.

As a result, today’s show, Hi-Bye and Send-Off will proceed with three members: Karina, Giselle and Ningning.

Winter had been looking forward to meeting fans in Dallas and is deeply disappointed that she will not be able to join the show. She also feels very sorry to share this sudden news with all the fans who have been waiting to see her.

We sincerely ask for your understanding regarding this unexpected announcement. We will do our utmost to ensure that Winter receives sufficient rest and support her recovery so that she can return in good health and meet fans again.

Thank you, as always, for your continued love and support for aespa.

Wishing Winter the speediest of recoveries!

aespa’s Winter Talks About Tackling Her Fear Of Trying New Things, Her Upcoming Solo Stage, And More

aespa’s Winter recently sat down with Cosmopolitan Korea for a pictorial and interview!

The photo shoot was in collaboration with the fashion brand Polo Ralph Lauren, for which Winter is an ambassador. Despite the hot weather, Winter flawlessly pulled off Polo Ralph Lauren’s fall/winter looks.

She remarked, “I don’t tend to feel the heat much, so today’s shoot wasn’t too difficult!” She continued, “I’m gradually getting used to being busy because I have so many scheduled events. Ideally, it would be best if I could focus on just one thing a year, but since I’m working on multiple projects simultaneously, I’m putting a lot of effort into managing my energy. Even so, whenever there’s something I want to do, I tend to speak up about it. I try not to overlook even the smallest things.”

aespa’s Winter Talks About Tackling Her Fear Of Trying New Things, Her Upcoming Solo Stage, And More插图

Winter, who always strives to show a new side of herself even amidst a busy schedule, explained, “I’m actually really easily scared, you know? I’m also afraid of taking on challenges. So my thought process goes, ‘I’m so scared of trying something new,’ ‘No, everyone else does it too!’ ‘You have to do it, Min Jeong!’ and, ‘Why are you the only one so scared of this?’”

She continued, “One day, when I looked back at the things I’ve done, I realized that I had actually tried more new things than other people. But the truth is, I’m naturally full of fear and worry when it comes to taking on new challenges!”

aespa’s Winter Talks About Tackling Her Fear Of Trying New Things, Her Upcoming Solo Stage, And More插图1

Winter also offered a hint about the solo stage she has prepared for aespa’s ongoing tour. She remarked, “I’ve performed new songs as solo stages at concerts about three times so far, and the order was song, dance, song. So I thought this time it was time for dance. I really wanted to dance too. “

She continued, “No one at the company picked this song as their first choice, but I was really drawn to it, so I ended up doing it. It’s also a genre I’ve never tried before. Come to think of it, it’s similar to today’s pictorial concept! It’s a dance track with a Western vibe.”

When asked if she feels free these days, Winter commented, “I think it depends on how you look at it. If I think I’m under pressure, I’ll feel endlessly constrained, but if I think I can do it, I become endlessly free. Given the nature of my job, I also get to enjoy many things that other people can’t. So rather than longing to be free, I don’t want to lose the mindset I have right now that ‘I can do anything.’”

7 K-Pop It Girls Who Are Rocking The Summer Mermaid Chic Trend

Nostalgia is a major hit in the fashion world right now, and there’s something so whimsical and sweet about mermaid chic that feels just right! In the late summer heat, it’s the perfect way to make the style fit the season. Whether you’re 50 feet or 500 miles from the beach, these K-pop It Girls are proving that a little seaside magic is always in for the summer.

Red Velvet’s Joy

During Red Velvet’s promotion for their recent comeback song “Surfin’ Boy,” the members have been serving some seriously stunning mermaid looks. This outfit from Joy is especially gorgeous – the flowing, draped fabric of the skirt is reminiscent of a mermaid’s tail! It’s the perfect choice for a fun summer party when you really want to make a splash.

LE SSERAFIM’s Huh Yun Jin

If you prefer a bit more of a laid-back look in your day-to-day life, Huh Yun Jin of LE SSERAFIM is your new style icon! Her brand of mermaid chic is perfectly chill while still exuding glamor. By choosing a shiny fabric in jewel tones for her top and letting her long hair flow down her shoulders, it’s almost like she’s a mermaid off-duty!

BABYMONSTER’s Chiquita

Ariel, is that you!? Nope, it’s BABYMONSTER’s Chiquita! You’d be forgiven for mistaking her for a Disney princess though—her red hair, ruffled dress, and delicate jewelry are the perfect princess combo. The small details truly make the outfit, so take a few tips from Chiquita next time you’re dressing up: a pearl necklace is a mermaid’s best accessory!

aespa’s Winter

A dress doesn’t necessarily have to be formal. Winter of aespa proves that they’re the perfect casual piece too! If you just want to throw on an outfit and get out the door, a loose, lacy summer dress is the perfect choice. It makes you instantly look put-together and like you just got back from the beach! Bonus points for voluminous beach waves tied back in braids too.

i-dle’s Miyeon

i-dle’s Miyeon has totally nailed mermaid chic, it seems. With elements of her look in blue, pink, green, and white, she’s shining like mother of pearl! By adding green eyeshadow and pink highlight to her makeup, she turns what might otherwise be a simple blue dress and white gloves into something fit for any mermaid princess. It’s all about the details!

Sunmi

If you can’t stand the heat and the thought of wearing anything that isn’t shorts and a shirt is too much, Sunmi has your back! She brings in all of the mermaid glamor through her accessories and styling choices alone. Peep the specifics—shiny nail polish, over-the-top pearl jewelry, voluminous wavy hair, and a little adventurous eyeshadow says it all!

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo

Last but not least, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo! She’s what every mermaid wants to be when they grow up. If you’re not a fan of ruffles and pearls, the beach-y vibes can still be achieved through linen and gold. Add a little blue eyeshadow, and voilà! The result is a mermaid that’s rocking the old-school cool. It’s a surprisingly grown-up look, but not boring in the slightest.
