Watch: Kong Hyo Jin Eliminates Criminals As Legendary Assassin While Husband Jung Jun Won Closes In On Her Secret In “A Bona Fide Killer”
“A Bona Fide Killer” has unveiled a new teaser!
“A Bona Fide Killer” is an action drama about a working mother with a lethal job who is fighting to protect her work-life balance. Kong Hyo Jin stars as Yu Bo Na, the seemingly ordinary manager of Sales Team 3 at Durumi Electronics, who is also secretly the legendary sniper known as “Kingfisher.”
The newly released teaser opens with Yu Bo Na’s calm remark, “Let’s do it during the day,” as she then coolly aims a sniper rifle from a rooftop. When her team leader Kim Bong Pal (Sung Dong Il) asks, “Is it strategically better to do it during the day?” Yu Bo Na casually replies, “No, it’s because I have to pick up my child,” creating a humorous contrast between her deadly profession and her everyday life as a mother.
The teaser then highlights Yu Bo Na’s fierce charisma as she sets out to eliminate a recently released criminal, accompanied by her ominous line, “May the happiest day of his life become the day of his funeral.”
However, the mood quickly shifts when a phone call from her mother-in-law sends Yu Bo Na rushing home. In stark contrast to her fearless assassin persona, she quietly bows her head as she endures the harsh scolding of her stern and abrasive mother-in-law Ok Sun Ja (Cha Mi Kyung).
Meanwhile, Kwon Tae Sung (Jung Jun Won) proves himself to be the model of a devoted husband. He affectionately embraces his wife and, when his domineering mother causes a scene by throwing food, he shields Yu Bo Na with his body. Standing up to his mother, he firmly declares, “She’s my precious wife. So please never treat my wife or my family carelessly again.”
At the same time, Tae Sung’s determination as a reporter adds another layer of tension. As he relentlessly investigates crime scenes, questioning whether each case is murder or merely an accident, he has earned the nickname “Kingfisher expert” for his relentless pursuit of the truth behind the legendary sniper Kingfisher. His investigation gradually brings him closer to uncovering the true identity of the person he loves most—his own wife.
Detective Lee Dong Jin (Lee Sang Yi) also springs into action after learning that Kingfisher has resurfaced. While reassuring his best friend Tae Sung, “I’ll protect your kind wife and adorable Yul,” he simultaneously vows, “Welcome back, Kingfisher,” as he relentlessly pursues the elusive sniper. Unaware that the criminal he is hunting is actually someone he has sworn to protect, Dong Jin closes in on Kingfisher, foreshadowing the tangled fate that awaits them.
The teaser ends by introducing a series of criminals Yu Bo Na has set her sights on. As her daughter Kwon Yul (Hwang Bom Yi) innocently asks, “Mom, what do you do for work?” Yu Bo Na quietly replies, “Something the world needs.”

Kong Hyo Jin Is Hiding A Secret With Her Husband Jung Jun Won Hot On Her Trail In “A Bona Fide Killer”
MBC’s upcoming drama “A Bona Fide Killer” has unveiled a “couple poster” of its leads!
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “A Bona Fide Killer” is an action drama about a working mother with a lethal job who is fighting to protect her work-life balance. In what marks her first MBC drama in 15 years, Kong Hyo Jin stars as Yu Bo Na, the seemingly ordinary manager of Sales Team 3 at Durumi Electronics, who is secretly the legendary sniper known as “Kingfisher.”
On the surface, Yu Bo Na is an ordinary married woman who takes care of her husband and daughter at home. However, unbeknownst to others, she leads a double life as a cold-blooded killer who eliminates heinous criminals that have escaped justice. After returning to work following a three-year maternal leave, she resumes her dangerous double life.
Complicating things further is the fact that Yu Bo Na’s husband Kwon Tae Sung (Jung Jun Won) is a reporter who covers Kingfisher’s cases. With her own husband hot on her trail, it remains to be seen whether Yu Bo Na will be able to keep her identity a secret.
The newly released poster captures the loving, domestic vibe of Yu Bo Na and Kwon Tae Sung’s marriage. However, even as they gaze into each other’s eyes with warm affection, the poster hints at the secrets hidden within the couple’s seemingly peaceful everyday lives: in the tagline, Yu Bo Na declares, “I’m not worried. Because I’m not going to get caught.”
“A Bona Fide Killer” will premiere on July 31 at 9:50 p.m. KST.

Jung Jun Won And Lee Sang Yi Unknowingly Chase After Kong Hyo Jin In New Drama “A Bona Fide Killer” Posters
MBC’s upcoming drama “A Bona Fide Killer” has unveiled new character posters!
“A Bona Fide Killer” is an action drama about a working mother with a lethal job who is fighting to protect her work-life balance. In what marks her first MBC drama in 15 years, Kong Hyo Jin stars as Yu Bo Na, the seemingly ordinary manager of Sales Team 3 at Durumi Electronics, who is secretly the legendary sniper known as “Kingfisher.”
The posters capture the conflicting relationships among Yu Bo Na, Kwon Tae Seong (Jung Jun Won), and Lee Dong Jin (Lee Sang Yi), who each live by different beliefs. The tense pursuit between the three characters—Yu Bo Na, a killer who personally punishes criminals; Kwon Tae Seong, a social affairs reporter who digs into the truth behind cases; and Lee Dong Jin, a detective destined to apprehend criminals—is expected to become a key point of interest in the series as they each seek to achieve justice in their own way.
In the poster, Yu Bo Na stares coldly straight ahead while holding a sniper rifle. True to her reputation as a sniper who takes down vicious criminals with a single shot, she announces her spectacular return to the field, using a rooftop with a wide-open view as her stage. Her flawless all-black outfit reveals the instincts of a killer who does not tolerate even the slightest margin of error. The phrase, “OK, shall we go?” that she says ahead of a client meeting also adds to the intrigue. She is fierce yet spirited as she picks up a gun to protect someone precious to her.
Kwon Tae Seong displays a gaze that blends persistence and emptiness. The employee badge hanging around his neck reflects his sense of duty as a passionate reporter pursuing the truth, but his eyes also reveal the confusion he feels upon encountering signs of Kingfisher’s return. His question, “Are you sure it’s Kingfisher?” brings his past back to the surface, recalling his days as the reporter who once exclusively covered Kingfisher before he abandoned reporting after a certain incident.
Lee Dong Jin reveals his strong determination to apprehend criminals as he points a handgun with a flawless stance. Having chosen the path of a detective rather than pursuing personal revenge despite experiencing a tragedy during his school days, the police identification card attached to his clothing symbolizes his destiny to uphold the law and justice. The phrase, “Nice to see you, Kingfisher!” encapsulates his relentless pursuit instinct built over a long period of time.
The production team said, “Through these character posters, we wanted to show the contrast between the three characters with different beliefs within a single space, the rooftop. Please look forward to the individual stories of killer Yu Bo Na, reporter Kwon Tae Seong, and detective Lee Dong Jin, that will each be portrayed in a balanced way, creating an unpredictable development.”
“A Bona Fide Killer” will premiere on July 31 at 9:50 p.m. KST.

Jung Jun Won, Lee Sang Yi, And More Are Determined To Track Down Assassin Kong Hyo Jin In New Drama “A Bona Fide Killer”
“A Bona Fide Killer” has unveiled new stills of characters involved in uncovering Kong Hyo Jin’s secret identity!
The stills show the Not Today investigative reporting team and the Nambu Police Station Violent Crimes Unit 2 tracking the legendary sniper Kingfisher. Not Today’s veteran reporter Kwon Tae Sung (Jung Jun Won) and rookie reporter Koo Hae Na (Han Chae Rin) carry out an unpredictable reporting journey, while Lee Dong Jin (Lee Sang Yi) and Beom Seong Hun (Choi Woo Sung) of Nambu Police Station narrow the investigative net through teamwork as they work to catch Kingfisher.
Kwon Tae Sung is known for diving headfirst into dangerous situations without hesitation, consistently landing exclusive stories. He once worked as a reporter specializing in Kingfisher, neither blindly idolizing the sniper nor branding her as a mere criminal. However, after an undisclosed incident, he stopped all reporting and is thrown into confusion by Kingfisher’s sudden return.
Koo Hae Na follows her direct supervisor Kwon Tae Sung with unwavering enthusiasm. In unpredictable field reporting situations, the two face a series of incidents together, showcasing a distinct senior-junior dynamic.
Lieutenant Lee Dong Jin of Nambu Police Station’s Violent Crimes Unit 2 is an ace detective who goes directly to the scene and is known for maintaining a high arrest rate. Having once experienced a deep sense of helplessness during a previous Kingfisher case, he cannot understand the public’s admiration and fascination with the sniper. He has deep empathy for the suffering of crime victims and is committed to the reopened Kingfisher investigation.
Beom Seong Hun is the youngest member of the Violent Crimes Unit 2 and Lee Dong Jin’s loyal partner. He not only acts as Lee Dong Jin’s reliable right-hand man in pursuing the shared goal of capturing Kingfisher but also occasionally moves the investigation forward with simple questions that help break through investigative dead ends.
