May Actor Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for actors!

The rankings were determined through a data analysis of the media coverage, participation, interaction, and community indexes of 100 actors who appeared in dramas, movies, or OTT content released between April 21 and May 21.

Byeon Woo Seok, who recently starred in “Perfect Crown,” topped this month’s list after seeing a 98.14 percent increase in his brand reputation index since April, bringing his total score to 13,270,451.

Park Ji Hoon, who is currently starring in the new drama “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier,” took second place with a brand reputation index of 11,929,116, marking a 24.40 percent rise in his score since April.

Yoo Hae Jin, who recently won the Grand Prize at the Baeksang Arts Awards for his performance in “The King’s Warden,” ranked third with a brand reputation index of 8,213,699, marking a 65.50 percent increase in his score.

Kim Jae Won, who recently stole hearts in “Yumi’s Cells 3,” came in fourth place with a brand reputation index of 6,374,939 for May.

Finally, Kim Hye Yoon, the star of the record-breaking film “Salmokji: Whispering Water,” rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 5,919,748, marking a 20.24 percent rise in her score since April.

MBC’s “Perfect Crown” has shared a new making-of video!

In the behind-the-scenes footage for episode 11, IU and Lee Yeon get playful between filming. While standing next to IU, Lee Yeon says, “There’s this really famous singer in Korea—IU.” IU plays along, saying, “IU—she’s a great singer.” Lee Yeon continues, “While moving, we’ve been listening to a lot of singer IU’s songs.” As per IU’s request, Lee Yeon sings for the making-of camera.

Yoo Su Bin practices carrying Byeon Woo Seok by carrying the filming director instead. After successfully carrying Byeon Woo Seok out of the fire, Byeon Woo Seok laughs and asks if he looks like a drunk person instead.

While on the floor after pretending to faint, Byeon Woo Seok asks, “Is it okay to do an interview while lying down?” He comments that due to the cold weather, the set actually feels nice and warm.

IU and Byeon Woo Seok also create a heartwarming atmosphere on set while filming romantic scenes. After filming the scene where IU pouts and tears up, Byeon Woo Seok can’t help but laugh commenting, “Why so cute?”

Set in an alternate universe where modern-day Korea is a constitutional monarchy, MBC’s “Perfect Crown” tells the love story of Seong Hui Ju (IU), a chaebol heiress who has everything but is only a commoner in status, and Grand Prince Ian (Byeon Woo Seok), a prince who has nothing despite being the son of the king.

How Seong Hui Ju and Grand Prince Ian’s love story will conclude

Expectations are high for how the relationship between Seong Hui Ju and Grand Prince Ian, who have overcome countless crises together, will conclude. Although the two began with a contract marriage, they gradually came to sincerely understand and support one another, eventually proudly declaring themselves husband and wife before the nation.

However, tension has risen again after Grand Prince Ian, who resolved to bear the weight of the crown, becomes caught up in another incident. Can the two protect each other and enjoy ordinary happiness? And how will their fated love story ultimately end?

How the collaboration between Prime Minister Min Jeong Woo and Queen Dowager Yoon Irang will end

The politics and power struggles within the royal family are among the main points viewers should focus on in the final episodes. After realizing that Seong Hui Ju has truly fallen in love with Grand Prince Ian instead of him, Prime Minister Min Jeong Woo (Noh Sang Hyun) begins turning against Grand Prince Ian, who was once his close friend. On the other hand, Queen Dowager Yoon Irang (Gong Seung Yeon) has started reflecting on a past defined solely by the pursuit of power. The new behind-the-scenes video for episode 8 begins with Byeon Woo Seok running with IU in his arms. He jokes, “It was too difficult because she’s so light.” During filming, Byeon Woo Seok also shows his dedication to his role, personally suggesting to get slapped in the face for real to create a more realistic scene.

In the hospital scene, Byeon Woo Seok also mentions that he doesn’t want to say the rest of his lines as he is too emotional in the moment, which the director accepts. Meanwhile, during more lighthearted scenes, IU and Yoo Su Bin showcase playful chemistry with their hilarious ad-libs.

MBC’s “Perfect Crown” has unveiled new stills ahead of its upcoming episode!

Set in an alternate universe where modern-day Korea is a constitutional monarchy, “Perfect Crown” tells the love story of Seong Hui Ju (IU), a chaebol heiress who has everything but is only a commoner in status, and Grand Prince Ian (Byeon Woo Seok), a prince who has nothing despite being the son of the king.

Previously on “Perfect Crown,” Seong Hui Ju and Grand Prince Ian became officially engaged after a proposal at a royal court banquet and the king’s approval. Grand Prince Ian accepted Seong Hui Ju’s contract marriage proposal, which she made to secure social standing, and the two became a team working toward the same goal.

Both share similar childhood loneliness and emotional wounds. They comfort each other and gradually grow closer. In the epilogue, it is also revealed that Grand Prince Ian had been interested in Seong Hui Ju since their school days, adding intrigue to their deeper connection.

However, opposition to their marriage is also beginning to emerge. Prime Minister Min Jeong Woo (Noh Sang Hyun) reacts with mixed feelings to news of their marriage. He tells Seong Hui Ju to keep her distance from Grand Prince Ian, citing her safety, while also making a suggestive remark that she should marry him instead.

Queen Mother Yoon Irang (Gong Seung Yeon) is also closely watching the pair. She views Seong Hui Ju as Grand Prince Ian’s weakness and is waiting for an opportunity to use her as a bargaining chip in her favor.

In the upcoming episode, the engagement life of Seong Hui Ju and Grand Prince Ian will be shown in earnest.

Another point of interest is the relationship between the “assistants duo,” Choi Hyun (Yoo Su Bin) and Do Hye Jung (Lee Yeon). Choi Hyun takes interest after learning that Do Hye Jung’s parents run a flower shop, and Do Hye Jung also begins to experience subtle changes in her feelings in response to his words.

As Seong Hui Ju and Do Hye Jung move into Grand Prince Ian’s private residence, Choi Hyun and Do Hye Jung also spend more time together, hinting at how their romance develops.

IU, Byeon Woo Seok, Lee Yeon, and Yoo Su Bin have shared their thoughts on their chemistry in MBC’s upcoming drama “Perfect Crown”!

In the drama, Seong Hui Ju (IU), the CEO of Castle Beauty, and her chief secretary Do Hye Jung (Lee Yeon) are soul partners striving together to become number one in the industry. Do Hye Jung, who never holds back on praise or nagging for Seong Hui Ju—who craves people’s attention—initially reacts negatively to Seong Hui Ju’s bold idea of upgrading her social status by marrying Grand Prince Ian but eventually begins to actively support her.

Just as Seong Hui Ju has her soul partner Do Hye Jung, Grand Prince Ian has his aide Choi Hyun (Yoo Su Bin), with whom he shares a bond stronger than blood. Although Choi Hyun often nags out of concern for the prince, his loyalty to Ian knows no bounds. First, IU expressed her affection for Lee Yeon, saying, “I’ve been a fan of Lee Yeon and had said before that I wanted to work with her. It feels like fate brought her to me. On set, I felt like I was being led by her because she came so well prepared and had so many fun ideas.”

Lee Yeon shared, “I was a fan of IU, and since I played her secretary with that mindset, I had no trouble immersing myself. I learned a lot and had so much fun during filming,” hinting at a warm and friendly atmosphere on set.

Next, Yoo Su Bin spoke about his chemistry with Byeon Woo Seok, saying, “It was truly amazing. Byeon Woo Seok is such a great person both as a human being and as an actor that I naturally grew fond of him while filming. I think we could feel each other’s affection while acting.”

MBC’s upcoming drama “Perfect Crown” has shared a behind-the-scenes look with its first making-of video!

In the making-of video, IU shares her thoughts on starting to film “Perfect Crown,” remarking, “I’m just about getting used to the atmosphere on set now. I’m not as tense, and we’re working together while testing our chemistry. It’s getting slightly more fun every day.”

Regarding his first filming day, Byeon Woo Seok comments, “Honest, I thought I was very nervous, but after filming on set, so many staff members supported me and made it an enjoyable experience, so I could film the entire time enjoyably.”

Noh Sang Hyun similarly expresses excitement for the first filming, sharing, “‘Perfect Crown’ is a project with many charms.
